GREAT card, but damn that new art is terrible. The original and the recent full art (extended border?) look so much better.
Glad to see Blast Zone again. It's such a good card. I'm happy every time I draw it. Cool new art too!
see i love the new art, depicting the destruction of the ivory towers, the birthplace of modern magic on dominaria, the third path divergent from the two brothers and their petty war, and the irony in how they thought themselves safe within those towers.
My bad, I meant the Monastery Swiftspear art is terrible. I like the new Blast Zone art a lot It looks like it could be the art for a new Urza's Tower that's blowing up.
Sick! I have those extended border Mazemind Tomes, but that blueprint version looks sick. It's such a good card. Don't get why it doesn't see more play.
They could have put tron lands in the set but immediately and say they're just legal in standard. They banned that spellslinger otter when Ikoria came out in some format. Could have done it with tron lands too?
Lutri isn't banned in any format that Wizards officially runs the banlist for.

But at the same time, I personally wouldn't be interested in playing tron in Standard. I mean, what are the payoffs? Anything better than what you can do with tron in Modern? I doubt it. It even feels weird in pauper.
Yep. It could be that easy. Evidently some people above don't have your critical thinking skills. Pioneer probably wouldn't even have a hiccup with Tron lands either. It is basically Modern-lite as it stands now. The meta would react or a ban could make it irrelevant.
They should instead make a set of Mishra's lands that mechanically hearken to Urza's lands without being as problematic.
I would be good with that as well. Mishra-Tron. Nice out of the box thinking.
I can see Wizards' reasoning being something like them wanting to have the new sets be viable in some way to as many players as possible, so it would be regarded fairly negative with them banning the cards in a couple of formats right off the bat.
At this point I wouldn't really care if the lands were in the set, because I wouldn't be playing standard again anyway.
I REALLY want to like pioneer, but I come to the same conclusion that why do I want to play this when modern exists? Other than the price for a modern deck is ******* insane.

Straight to titty-tribal decks lol. My nipples would be way more pointy in that weather though lol. That art reminds me of the time I went to Hareruya's store in Tokyo and saw the sleeves and playmats most guys were using there. Holy *****.. bringing some of that stuff out in public lol.

Man Hexdrinker is such a cool card... I'm so sad that it's pretty much completely forgotten in modern
It's not? I thought it was banned day one?
