no, its Huntsville, Alabama. I saw & skimmed the story last night before work.

@ Mr. Wes Coleman: I'm more of a spiritual individual than I am religious, so no prayers here. (no offense intended).
HOWEVER, I do offer my condolences. 'Tis definately an unexpected and unfortunate act (as always).

My thoughts are with your and your peers.

    Thank you so much.

I recently heard my microbial ecology professor and academic advisor has suffered no major neurological damage, but has lost one of his eyes and needs considerable reconstructive surgery on his jaw.

The department secretary, Steffi, is still in critical condition as of my last checking.

Unfortunately, we lost three professors in our very small department. Dr. Maria Davis (whom I had as a professor last spring for Cell biology), Dr. Adriel Johnson (an A&P professor and advisor to any pre-med/pre-dent/pre-pharmacy students), and our department chair Dr. Gopi Podila (whom I also had as a professor for developmental biology and know personally. It kills me to know his little girl is without her father because of this senseless act). The entire department is in disarray after this tragedy and many of us are left without advisors, professors, and role models.

I know that any continued thoughts would be greatly appreciated by myself and the UAH community.

    Thank you.

I'm sure most of you have heard about the shooting at UAHuntsville, but I would just like to ask that any of you religious MTGS'ers keep the university and the faculty members families in your prayers and thoughts.

Two of my professors are dead and one more (who is also my academic advisor) is in critical condition in the neurological ICU, so I ask that you pray for all the students in my position who have lost our role models.

    Thanks,

    Wesley Coleman

Well there already is Rune of Protection: Lands, Knock on wood that they dont reprint this jank

Clearly you've never been humiliated by being beaten to death by a treetop village or four. They hurt pretty badly, lol. I'd have loved to have this jank sideboarded in my weenie deck.

Just noticed Baru, Fist of Krosa was a future shifted card with an ability very similar to the Landfall mechanic in the Zendikar block. Obviously it looks as though they've done some tweaking to the mechanic (specifying that it's when lands come into play under your control).

Any chance we'll see him in Worldwake or Rise of the Eldrazi? I always kind of wanted to build a deck with him but never got a chance.

I'd be all giddy if we got another set of manlands.

Maybe this: Landfall - Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, you may have (name of manland) become an x/x (creature type) with (first strike, trample, intimidate, etc.) that's still a land, until end of turn.

Not sure if anybody has posted this yet, I tried to search the thread but nothing came up. If you look in the planechase card for Murasa, you can see what looks to be one of those giant things covered in vines.

I would like to see a source too. I just want to really see where they said it.

Considering Mark Rosewater personally apologized for Bitterblossom, there's got to be some sort of apology for Tarmogoyf somewhere.

Thanks for all your input guys. I never would have guessed foreign prints would be worth less than English printings judging by the way people are giddy over foil japanese mutavalts at my FNM lol.

Considering all of these cards were free to me and my BF, I'll be happy to get $50 for the starter pack, as it's all profit.

I'll sell the rest as packs of like-colored cards or as playsets. If you're interested in any of the ones I listed above, PM me and we'll work something out. I have eBay and other message board feedback if needed.

    Thanks,
    Wes Coleman

I've had it proxied up for some time now testing it. Just ordered the cards to make it legal for friday. Here is the final deck. Still working on a sideboard, but I've got a little something if I go up against a white deck.

Underworld Dreams. Not particularly powerful, but very fun. A U/B discard/draw deck is super fun with this card. Just run some Damnation, Evacuation, removal and howling mine.

This might just be me showing my ignorance, but are the Italian cards white bordered or black bordered? It makes a pretty big difference in the price.

They are all white bordered, unfortunately.

$135?...based on what is listed, I only see $70 at the most

Italian Tropical Island went for $85 on Ebay this morning.

Plus, I'd like to think the fact that it's an entirely intact starter pack including box and instruction manual has some extra appeal to collectors.

Here is the full card list

    Notable cards include:
    Malaterra (Badlands)
Ira di Dio (Wrath of God)
    Vampiro di Sengir (Sengir Vampire)
    Gorilla di Kird (Kird Ape)
    Fulmine (Lightning Bolt)

    Full card contents:
    Drain Life
    Thicket Basilisk
    Forest (x4)
    Giant Growth
    War Mammoth
    Giant Spider
    Craw Wurm
    Instill Energy
    Wall of Wood
    Island (x5)
    Power Leak
    Sea Serpent
    Flight
    Unsummon
    Psychic Venom
    Blue Elemental Blast
    Prodigal Sorcerer
    Mountain (x6)
    Red Elemental Blast
    Gray Ogre
    Stone Rain
    Earthbind

Italian cards are only significantly cheaper for Legends cards. For revised they'll be similar to English. HOWEVER, Black boarded dual lands go for more than double their English white bordered equivalents.

That's good to know. Thanks! For the starter pack, I'm going to set the reserve around $135 and see if it sells.

I think I'll just set the reserve kinda high and if it doesn't sell, just re-list them with a lower reserve. I had no idea that Italian cards would be worth less than English ones. Thanks for the input guys!
