What about blood moon being back?

? I was not aware blood moon had left?

I gotta ask, what is blood moon in storm for? It's typically used against big mana decks, where we're already favored, or to make life difficult for tricolor decks, which are pretty low profile at the moment. I haven't met an abzan deck in forever. The current headaches are Hollow One with a lucky pilot, burn, and Humans. Blood Moon does.. well, nothing against those decks.

UW control and Humans are a big issue where I play, so everything into mountains is pretty damn strong, with a ritual on turn 2, I didn't know it leave either, everyday in the sky. I wish blood sun was good, maybe Alpine Moon who knows, gotta test it

    Hi,

What do you think of including faithless looting for opt? By the moment i cut 1 opt (all list play 3) for 1 Peer Through deepts. I'm thinking about cutting 2 opt for 2 faithless.

    Regards

I like Thought Scour better, nobody plays Surgical main deck around here, so Thought Scour gives u double card advantage, because it puts a card in your hand and 2 in the yard, essentially they all go to your hand. Looting has flashback, but top decking it is just faithless...

You are less likely to combo with one less card in hand...

Abrade is much weaker agains Remand and Gigadrowse is just too weak agains a deck that has only Remand to answer stuff, Giga shines against heavy control, feels so good, but still, with 3 manas + Remand you can still play a lightning bolt, or a spell snare.
I also feel like Opt is underperforming, makes more sense to put stuff in the yard with Thought Scour. The fact is that many good stuff is playable here depending on your meta. Dude, if people use a lot of Birds and Hierarchs where you play, Twisted Image can be gg's, people keep hands that are unplayable without the hierarch mana, so you can slow the op down a bit and we get that sweet draw.
I totally agree with MarcWizard. I play with monoU Tron too, very nice deck and also cheap. You can perform very well with only one Chalice, without explosives and Oboro etc... If you optimize you play, many cards can be good and win, if you have the right strategy, many good cards can be played, and when people are not expecting things... oh the surprise. You could totally play 4 through the breach and Emrakul if you like. seriously, just manage to stick it in dude, you win, your personal list is always the best, adapted for your local meta and not for a starcity ten thousand people event...

Primal Amulet can dodge artifact hate if it has 3 markers, you put the 4th and flip it, getting 1 mana of any color plus u can copy the next spell you cast. Its expensive, yes, but I feel that sometimes, the matches I lose get to the point I have 4 lands, and then if you land your bear, it gets pushed away, easily. of course that landing Baral with 2 mana open is quite nice, but they get discarded by Inquisition of Kozilek and such before you can land them, these have narrower discard. When you land a enchantment or artifact, it narrows the hate down, you can tap and hope to get a next turn. These are aimed to some MU's of course.
Enough said, Precog is the strongest for sure, like a Future in Flames. If only we had Gitaxian Probe.
Inferno Titan is not bad, sometimes I even think about putting Jace or some weird stuff to get people out of their guards. Emperion is quite nice against Ponza. But only one game, because next they gonna bring all the artifact hate.

    Hello,

I think we should discuss Precognition Field. It lets you have potentially all resources available during the match except your sideboard. It appears to me very strong against graveyard hate, and good overall, since there is very limited hate against enchantment g2 and g3. It makes Fetchlands better for the deck because it let you change the top card of your library. I am a big fan of fetchlands, but I play fetchless for field purposes.
Jace´s Sanctum is a nice card that in the right MU's can score you a win. Primal Amulet is also nice because many opponents would never bring artifact hate against us g2, and the surprise element is very good. I am aware that some hate like detention sphere and maelstrom pulse and even Abrade, to name a few, gets it. Wear/Tear is also strong against both of these and blank against Baral/Electromancer.
All of these are slow and have the down sides, but sometimes is so useless to land a creature thats gonna be destroyed or the army of goblins ready to die.
By having all of them, you can have different things as engines, rotating it g2 and g3 it can blank many sideboard cards of your oponents, that do bring enchantment/artifact hate when they see these cards and realize they didn't put sideboards against them. So you bet next game they will be packed with it, and we just gonna be open for comboing, still having Baral/Electromancer/enchantment/artifact(that becomes a land that generates one extra mana and copies a spell) for the win.
Baral and electromancer let you win right away much easier than the rest, but Modern has become a little bit slower, we have decent pieces of interaction, specially if you are playing Caleb's list. Assuming that hate is gonna be brought against us, games will probably be slower anyways and by having a wider variety of engines that demand different cards to interact we get stronger. Also because we make a less horrible Gifts pile that doesn't envolve Noxious Revival, I'm not a big fan of the loss of 2 life and 2 cards, itself and what it could have been. I feel better getting a Snow-Island and Precog/Amulet/Jace's Sanctum/chandra or whatever.

Hey guys, whats the secret against ponza? Chalice is kinda slow sometimes, and yesterday i played against 3 ponzas at the local store, it was ******* bad. My list is quite standard list inspired in Pie.

Anyone considered Trophy Mage to emphasize the o-stone route? Its a body at least, and u get any 3 mana cost artifact

What about the new counterspell that untap 3 lands? Counter paired with ritual seems pretty strong

    Hey guys,

What about going 4 pyromancer ascension? I like thought scour much better than opt for our strategy even without the PAs. But i think 16 cantrips are needed at least for it to work smoothly. Maybe even use desperate ravings again

What about pyromancer ascension? Seems like at the least a crapy exit to chalice. I thinkdesperate ravings is very good, even though its random, we are redundant, being instant with flashback is just so good, I dont mind one extra card in my hand and one in the yard...Its part of the plan actually.

I have been playing on paper with this list, I feel that board presence is really important here, so that’s why I cut the 2nd Mindslaver for Gearhulk. It is arguiable, but Gearhulk has the value you give to it. Surprise element is important, and Gearhulk being a 5/6 flashin’ flashbackin’ is just really nice. brought to you by: Treasure mage. I don’t really like 2 cyclonic rifts, a 2nd Ugin is better, IMO. I like counter wars, quoting pie, blue against blue, like mtg was supposed to be.
Here I face many eldrazis, always a couple of burns, Jeskai, UW control, 8rack, Abzan, Junds, coco, not a lot of combo, etc… I feel it is favorable for MonoU Tron. Last couple of times I went 2-1-1 and 2-1-1. Matches take really long with this deck, my losses were 1-0 and I tied 2 times, time was my worst enemy, and misplay, of course, these hurt so much… gotta be careful when making decisions here.
I don’t own EE, Oboro, etc. It is true that they add value, but other stuff have value too, you can win a GP with any deck that makes sense. There was crazy stuff on top 32 of GP São Paulo this year, top8 was, to say the least, exotic. MTG is definetely not what starcitygames shows to us on mainpage.
I watch many of Pie’s video, and some from Shok. Very good lists, and I always peek some mtgtop8 lists, to have some comparison material. I’m really into Gemstone Caverns, it helps you get there a turn earlier, 1 mana counterspells are really strong, chalice/dismember are MVP and board presence with some huge ass creature/Ugin.
    Keep playin people!

I am going with Pieces main. I either face burn or discard, sometimes eldrazi, so my conclusion is that we need more card advantage, specially when we cannot afford to land a bear without it getting removed(is really apostles blessing + noxious the answer for this matchup? works with burn but with eidolon on play or 2 burn spells, its gone.with discard, feels like a whooping amount of card disadvantage). pieces "puts" essentially all sorceries and instants in our hand. cleans up from the top deck whatever rest. it can be IoK.
What about going old school with desperate ravings? people are *****y with randomness, I think we beat it most of the times with redundancy, and card advantage on this card is off the charts.
Any chance of jamming Primal amulet on sb? its a bear, would you ritual into it? not removed by ordinary hate, nor IoK, Flipside is only worth it if we copy either gifts ungiven or dodge a past in flames from counterspell, obviously anything else you copy is awesome, but I think the best use is to chain into rituals, flip it, cast something rude like 2 GU and then go for the victory. Anyways, gotta be tested and thought through

Isnt it better to condescend for 1 that moon instead of dropping a talisman? I would understand having talismans if you run spell pierce for that matter, or spell snare on the draw, but these situations are so uncommom that idk... think when I have 2 lands untapped and one of them is a blue source, of course, I rather condescend, remand, you name it. Thats why I run 7~8 Islands normally.
I am reluctant about TKS too, a lot of people Fatal Push where I play, and I just dont mind when my Trinket/Treasure gets pushed on revolt, its gymnastic for absolutely nothing, when they have the chance to play it, because its just natural to draw a lil chalice from the mage, or coil from treasure.
