Kumena doesn't seem like a villain to me, his argument for taking the Sun is a pretty good one really, every faction that has taken possesion of the sun thus far has usedd it in very stupid ways, the River Heralds on the other hand, even though they didn't necessarily had the Sun they knew where it was, and yet they didn't use it unwisely like the other factions did, even if Kumena uses it to wipe out the Sun Empire or the Legion of Dusk, he would be doing Ixalan a favor, considering that if Huatli get's to the Sun, she will give it to her Emperor who let's face it, is probably going to use it just like the prior emperors.
Please please stay away from Rome, destroy everything else but leave her be.
The only "ancient civilization" plane I remember that was actually destroyed was Amonkhet. Kamigawa and Theros are still very much thriving in the story.
I have zero faith in Wizards of the Coasts doing a respectful job of paying homage to Roman society.
It isn't really that hard, Romans did a lot of good things, specially in the art, architecture and political departaments, but other than that, they were basically xenophobic people who thought they were better than everyone else.
What's your point? Why does it even matter? Rome had way more ethnicities and cultures under their wing than many countries today or in their whole history. Can you name a culture at the time that was not xhenophobic and what this even means?
It's a pretty simple point really, Paladin said that he believed Wizards wouldn't be able to respectfully depict the Romans therefore he did not wished to see a Roman plane, so i pointed out the fact that Rome was not a complex empire i did so by mentioning 3 of Rome's most important feats, than i mentioned why despite all of that Rome is not that hard to depict based on the fact that 1st: They were extremely xenophobic (im talking ISIS level here) to the point where they would go to a country simply to abolish it's religion(and that is a easy trope to follow you can see that with the vampires of Ixalan or the elves of Fyndhorn), 2nd: they thought they were better than everyone else, which is clearly seen in the fact that they could lesses civilization barbarians (civilizations who did not had a complex language system such as rome) or even slaves (many romans regarded the people of egypt as "slaves"). Again an easy trope to follow, and you can see some of it's traits in the Legion of Dusk (Ixalan), Nicol Bolas, Elves of Lorwyn.
TL:DR Rome did amazing things, but they were not a complex people, therefore they are pretty easy to depict in MTG.

Ten permanents is pretty easy in EDH, standard and modern games tend to end before turn 6 (when everything goes right), the only deck's i can see getting the city's blessing are decks like UW Control/Approach, or some off meta control deck.
Maybe it's just me, but the black dino feels kinda off, Dino's (in Ixalan) are Green and Red to represent their violent/predator's nature, while white represent the fact that some of them are tamed, having a black dino makes just as much sense as a blue one

I just wish it said 'or from the Command Zone'.
Unfortunately nothing can be cast from the command zone in "standard" magic.
. Unfortunately there is a Commander game mode in mtg, and there is a Command Zone so yes, they could have done it if they wanted.
Imo both dino's are decent in EDH, i don't play any kind of competitive magic, but from what i see at my LGS, the dinos and the Sun are probably useless in competitive EDH
First one is probably a Knight for Serra who has likely become a "goddess" figure on the plane what with the angels being all "Serra is the bestest"
The second one could be Skyshroud elves after Rahda whipped them into Being Half Elves and Half Keldon in nature.
Third one is Tolaria west.
I'm pretty sure the first one is one of Benalia's knights, i wont even try to guess were the elfs are from, since Dominaria has like 30 thousand different elf species.
I don't like this art at all. It looks like cheap CGI. I miss art like Rebecca Guay, Christopher Moeller, Quinton Hoover, etc. Like actually painting. All these artworks look like cheap DeviantArt fanboy renders made on MS Paint. Horrible. There's no sense of fantasy at all.
What a fail.
As an artist, even though i shoudn't, i feel ofended by your commentary, Rebecca Guay is amazing sure, but for a game that has a semi realistic art direction, all of these artworks are better suited (that is actually the reason why Rebecca Guay only get special promo cards now days, her style just doesn't fitt.
The sphinx on the box art for the gamesday top 8 deckbox is almost 100% Azor - hell the sigil on ixalans binding is so darn Azorious it'd be hard not to be him.
Ajani will be there, he'll emergency-walk to Jace to save him trying to recreate the power rangers for a trip to Dominaria to stop Bolas once and for all.
Angrath will be rakdos no doubt, as his story article has both colour tendencies.
The pack art may have been "mock ups" - however people said the same things for the other ones and they became the ixalan boosters...it's pretty much confirmed until it's proven not at this point.
There's only one problem with your theory, each block has 5 walkers, Ixalan block already has 3 (Huatli,Vraska and Jace) Angrath is pretty much confirmed for RIX, which leaves only one slot for a walker.
Holy crap!! My dad works for WOTC and he got a pic of this. Yes, it is real, and yes its from RIX!! He said that the CMC is 2B in case you are wondering, so how's this for legendary creatures!
OH MY GAWWWWWD ADRIAN THIS IS SOOOOOOOOOO AMAZINGG !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOOOOOOOOOVE YOUR DAAAAAAAAAAD.
On a more serious note, i think having a second dinosaur cycle is a waste.
I wonder which colors Kumena is going to be, alot of you guys are saying UB, but i don't see him as a black type, it not like the dude is cruel/selfish or even a sadist (i know black isn't all bad things)
