1) In this meta, what is Garruk good against?
2) In this meta, what is Master of the Wild Hunt good against?
3) Between Garruk and Master of the Wild Hunt, which would you maindeck if given the choice to only maindeck either one?
Splashing for white, the fourth color is really easy man.
I agree. White is the easiest 4th colour to splash but IMO you do not benefit as much as what blue can give you.
I've tried a straight GR(b) version and while it ramps up fast, it still took some time to warp if I had an iffy hand. I've since added blue and so far I've been really impressed by it. The blue were added for Sphinx of Lost Truths and Halimar Depths. Note that Halimar Depths has great synergy with oracle of mul daya, which also has great synergy with borderland rangers/pilgrim's eye, fetchlands, and the elvish visionary.
It still needs some tweak though as I want to add in more Oracles and perhaps more SGC.
@Seifer: I too considered dropping Ob from my deck but for a whole different reason. I wanted to drop Ob because the black mana is really hindering me. With the inclusion of the black mana, it disallows me to play blue (for card draw) or white (for defensive walls) unless I make my deck less consistent.
Besides Courier Capsule and/or Sphinx of the Lost Truths, the next best card draw that this deck has is Seer's Sundial. I have yet to test it, but a friend did mention that inevitably, the sundial is too slow. I did not consider Howling Mine (or font of mythos) because it is a card more suited for fog and nothing else.
With white, I can include wall of reverence, mycoid shepherd or even guardian zendikon. In fact, I can push it further my playing Emeria Angel or Admonition Angel if I wanted to.
IMO the loss of Mulldrifters hurt this deck pretty bad compared to the loss of Nucklavee. I have yet to test my deck out without Ob, but currently I feel its 'i win now' status post-warp is too strong for it to be ommited.
What's the correct number of siege gang commanders and avenger of zendikar?
My friend says it's 4 SGC 2 AoZ, but I'm currently playing 4 SGC and 3 AoZ. I'm very tempted to drop 1 SGC for other cards though, but I do not know how crucial this guy is in the deck compared to the blowout AoZ.
For the record, I'm also not going for the BBE route as I'm playing everflowing chalice. I'm also playing 3-3 borderland ranger/pilgrim's eye split. Besides Ob Nixilis, I'm considering splashing a 4th colour for courier's capsule.
I use to play bestial menace in the singleton slot over siege-gang commander, but have come to realise that siege gang is definitely better over bestial menace. I'm still wondering whether I should put in the basilisk collar in that singleton slot instead. While SGC is good (it can kill planeswalkers), the collar allows me to go around shrouded walls for some nighthawk goodiness. The problem is I do not know how "bad" the cascade would be if i were to cascade into it.
A friend mentioned that the collar is only a sideboard worthy but the sideboard is tighter than the mainboard. I'm feeling that you either play the collar mainboard or you don't at all.
I was playing 2HG with my friend in the melbourne pre-release at melbourne high and my friend kicked a rite of replication targeting my opponent's archon of redemption, proceeding to gain 75 life. With no offense intended, I chuckled when my opponent wanted a second opinion after a judge was called to see how much life we actually gained (both was ruled in our favour).
No they are 5 5/6 plants. Let me explain it to you. At the same time that the plant creating trigger goes on the stack the 5 pump triggers go on the stack. triggers going onto the stack simultaneously can be ordered by the controller of said triggers. So you just put the plant making trigger on top of the pump triggers and voila, giant plants.
Ken Nagle did not ruin Magic by designing WWK. He just made it boring.
IMO, we were just spoiled because, M10 and ZEN were terrific sets. And we were expecting it to continue in WWK.
I agree with this statement except for the making it boring part. I actually find WWK very interesting. The problem is that we have been spoilt by sets with bombtastic cards like Lor-Mor, Zen, M10 (to a certain extent), etc.
Although really horrible for limited, I really like Coldsnap and the flavour it brings to the game. I absolutely love Sha-Eve and will always blame Lor-Mor's tribal theme for making most cards in Sha-Eve unplayable in competitive Standard. I believe that if Lor-Mor did not exist, Sha-Eve would make a VERY interesting Standard environment.
Although unlikely to happen, I too personally would like WotC to drop the Mythic Rarity and revert back to the old rarity distribution.
Mythics were apparently introduced for demographic purposes. WotC have themselves mentioned that the probability of pulling a Mythic is just as one of the rares before in some previous sets. Therefore, there is no other purpose of introducing mythics except to make players go wow and have an 'official confirmation' that yes, this card is indeed tougher to get than other cards.
The problem with Mythics comes in the secondary market. I've seen traders and shop owners selling/trading cards using excuses that the card in question is a mythic, therefore it is harder to get. Hence it cost more in sell/trade value. I've seen this brought up countless times in various countries I've been to even though they fully well know that the chances of opening up a Mythic is like opening up a rare land in previous sets. The annoying part is when they jack up the price 2x-3x what it's worth "just because it is a Mythic". The shop owners are loving it, but the players are hurting in general.
IMHO, Mythic is hurting the secondary market. Tarmagoyf should've been the last obnoxiously expensive card. Even so, there wasn't much expensive cards at that price since then. We now have Bankslayers and Jace, the Bankrupt Sculptor to consider. While it is indeed a good move for WotC (it makes people crack more packs to open up these expensive cards), they should do us all a community favour by removing it.
The bottom line is if Mythic doesn't serve any other purpose than to make a problem in the secondary market, it should be removed.

I too feel that lotus cobra is a must here, however the addition of tideforce elemental is like being too greedy.
I re-read the card and you are right. My bad!
Makes me love Avenger in this deck more and more.
I believe that you still get 5 0/1 plants because the plants do not ETB the same time as the lands.
Nevertheless, I think you are playing too many AoZen. Maybe cut 1 or 2 for siege-gang commanders?
