So in the previews today both spoilers of Hand of Emrakul noted that it can come down turn three. What kind of cards do you guys suspect will be printed that enable such shenanigans?
Personally, my hope is a 1R dragon fodder for Eldrazi Spawn at instant and a 2G three token maker at sorcery. Thoughts?
Actually that would be a very good card, essentially a Confiscate for one mana less (give them the enchantment).
That said, magic is rather deliberately moving in the direction of less confusion, not more. I saw an idea for a card a couple pages back that was something like:
Sunpost
T: add 1.
2, T: add one mana of any color for each locus on the battlefield.
I rather like that idea, and hope it ends up as the final.
That's really more of a storm hoser. Cascading into a cascade card is fairly unlikely compared to simply cascading into card advantage. They rather infrequently cast three spells of of one cascade.
Unfortunately, Ghostwind would not answer Iona, since hers is a static ability that modifies the rules of the game as she enters the battlefield.
I personally am hoping for New Frontiers. It would really push landfall all the way into competetive (as a central theme, not peripheral one). Harrow was great, and I'm loving it (foil harrow's the bestest), but the late-game ability to trigger landfall six or seven at once would just make me (and ramp) so happy.
I just got back from seeing that movie in IMAX 3D. First of all, seriously awesome movie.
It's Zendikar! The visuals are Zendikar. I actually showed my dad some of the full art basics when we got back, and I've accidentally convinced him partway to play the game (he really liked the movie) but he's also suspicious of the similarity in the artworks. I laughed at that, but it is a little creepily similar.
Anyone else get that vibe?
EDIT: Ok, SOMEone is borrowing from SOMEone here, or else an artist worked on both and was lazy...

It's a 2/2 beast for 1G with 1g Multikicker. +1/+1 counter for each time it was kicked.

Runejack UU
Instant
Gain control of target activated or triggered ability. You may choose new targets for that ability.
Awesome answer for cascade, fetchlands, sprouting thrinax, broodmate dragon, etc... plus is a great blue card in this painfully non-blue setting.
Imagine how standard would have shaped up if this had taken swerve's place or something... sigh...
