As long as Thalia is in one ore bothof the innistrad sets, all is fine with me I still have an open slot in my 3x4 foil Thalia printings page of my collectibles binder.
Honnestly though. I'm fine with the announcements as is, for this year has felt like a continuous stream of spoilers.
One each of vampire and werewolf Thalias?

It has been a little to hot for me to pay any attention to magic lately, but I promised I would post my current version of the deck when I got back from holyday. So here it is
The focus has been on efficiency lately and the deck is just that. Very efficient, and in typical storm fashion it ends the game in a single (often longer) turn. The deck manages to stay under the radar long enough to set up and put up a defense in the process.
Also, the copy spells idea from an earlier itteration have found a place into a more competitive Kalamax, The Stormsire deck right from the spoilers.
Promised i would post a decklist, but couldn't put myself to it due to extreme temperatures. Now that everything has settled, i'm back to do some brewing.
Most changes have been motivated by other decks to be honest. This is still a well functioning deck that's very fun to play, but it doesn't get the playtime it deserves. I should pull it out more often
I use them in most edh decks and they are often amongst the best lands to drop.
As stated before they make awkward curves easier but the main thing for me is, like painlands, they function like 3 color lands in the builds that require true colorless mana.
Great reprints to me, for the price of Sunken Ruins especially has been to high.
Finally, the first piece of cardboard i didn't purchase over the last two weeks. If i'm being honest, double masters has allready cost me money.
I'm not mad though the high price of these boxes makes me think it's impact will be minimal and original printings from theor respective mirrodin sets have had my preference
I've had the chance to play with the deck again recently and used Teferi's Ageless Insight to great effect! The deck is still fun and strong in my meta but has seen some changes over the last couple of months.
The version before my current has changed into Temur Kalamax copy storm and Jori-En is pure draw/cantrip power again. Underworld Breach is an all star in playlines that include Frantic Search and Turnabout for example.
A card i've been trying that i don't really liked over the games i've dropped it, is Nadir Kraken. It seems good value on the surface, but it's a little slow and mana intensive unfortunately.
I to, am excited for Immolating Gyre. It's high up the curve, but the one sided potential might warrant inclusion. Could be a great replacement for the Kraken.
When i get back from holyday's, i'll post an updated decklist.
Nice to see some action, the deck is still intact and has been trough some minor changes. Some for other deck's purposes, others to compliment Tolsimir and Voja. Most of note: Heliod, Sun-Crowned as an extra way to pump on etb much like an extra Archangel of Thune and to incidentally combo out with Walking Ballista.
When i get back from hollydays, i'll post my current decklist.
It's still a great fum midrange deck. Unfortunately it does'nt see play alot due to obvious reasons.
I have been playing with Hostage Taker and it did perform pretty good to be honest. I might keep it in and find something else to cut for a 5 drop, possibly smoothing out the curve a little in the progress. I.e. if i add Kruphix, God of Horizons i can probably cut a 4cmc ramp card instead.
As far as just large beaters go, Spiritmonger is an aggressive size and can regenerate, which lets it survive some wrath types. Vulturous Zombie, while having no defensive abilities, can can large very quickly in a multiplayer game, and the early large flier can get quite a few hits in.
No need for beaters, as those come in the form of really big spaghettiguys Spark Double is actually a very nice addition as a way to double up on triggers. Haven't thought about that one, Thanks!
I have a strong casual (75%) big mana deck with Vial Smasher the Fierce/Thrasios, Triton Hero at the helm that is tons of fun to play. It's loosely based on JLK's version and I love it to bits.
The general idea of the deck is to ramp hard and cast as many big spells as possible, preferably at instant speed or by means of flash, and win with damage from Vial Smasher the Fierce or just play more and bigger stuff than my opponents and outvalue them.
The main engine for card advantage and to put extra lands in play is oviously Thrasios, next to that is has a very healthy ramp package with the usual rocks and ramp spells and ways to manipulate mana with, including Seedborn Muse/Oracle of Mul Daya etc.
The deck also has a lot of spells with high CMC wich can be cast for less to gain bigger triggers of off Vial Smasher the Fierce.
What sets the deck apart and makes it my own, is a "top matters" theme to manipulate and gain as much value as possible of off Thrasios, Triton Hero and otherwise swingy spells like Sunbird's Invocation, Maelstrom Wanderer and Rashmi, Eternities Crafter.
Cards that help with casting extra spells as much as possible, preferably from other player's decks in their turns are also in. Think Mind's Dilation, Etali, Primal Storm and such.
I've been searching for that perfect card to replace Desertion with. It's one of, if not the only real reactive spell in the deck and while it's good and it does fit criteria of being able to use opponents stuff, keeping it up has never really netted me the value i expected from it.
The deck has the tendency to jump curve at 5, so my 5drop count is allready low compared to everything above. I'd rather not go any lower in favor of bigger stuff.
Current options/considerations for me are: Hostage Taker -> Pro: Ramoval + Way to cast extra spell + The dream T5 Value when taking a Sol Ring and casting that. Con: Not a 5 drop so only 4 damage on T5. Gush -> Pro: Basically a free 5drop + Draws two cards + Can be used after a Thrasios Activation. Con: Sets me back two lands which is counter productive.
Considered but Non options: Force of Will -> Not enough blue cards in the deck
What card would you recommend that would fit the criteria of this deck if budget was unresctricted?
