Digging 4 deep is a big deal and the extra mana over mana leak is relvent but often you can't even win the counter fights due to blue limits anyway. I'll see if there is another cut I can make (second solemn perhaps) but I don't want too much counters. Perhaps - remand - solemn.
The complete lock out that spell burst causes is hell for my opponent I can't bring myself to cut it. I have just had so many good experiences with the card.
We didn't have many at modern night yesterday with release tonight, I easily cut through the field of Black midrange and Blue control easy match ups. My only issue was getting caught by crumble to dust without my GQ or a counter up. Amuseingly I had spreading seas help me out a lot with my all colourless land hands.
I am still looking for good options for Deaths shadow match up though, using up so much sideboard space for the leyline ergh (sure it's also good against burn and storm not worth it for GBx), Then having to mull for it ergh I seems real terrible. Atm I just keep any hand with lands and assume they are going to tear it apart. Tormod's crypt and ratchet bomb is my current plan feels inadiquite
I do like spell burst a lot, it feels great when you lock out an opponent with it, but it's not that good if you are behind, Supreme will fix that, need more testing but right now I'm happy changing the spell burst for it.
For the death shadow match up maybe reality shift is a thing? They don't run that many creatures and gurmag tasigur and street are Hard for then to turn, but I don't think it's worth the slot.
Jul 13, 2017Playing two copies, I cut anticipate and spell burst, both modes works fine, behind on board or needing a piece or an answer dig for it, if board is stabilized counter and if opponent didn't play anything you can dig end eot anyway.Posted in: Control
