    Hey guys!

I havent got any experience from Phoenix decks while i´ve been playing UW control. I just sleeved the deck and been playing couple of leagues in MTGO with results 3-2 and 4-1. If someone has good experience from Phoenix MU (both, izzet and monored) could you give some advices?

Im taking my UW deck to LGS bigger event (100+ players) and im expecting lots of phoenixes in general. Last tournament there was like 15%+ of the decks were Phoenixes and i played Jund back then.

    Thanks in advance!

Edit: Intrested of RG valakut tactics as well

    Hey guys,

What you think of current state of UW in meta? I´ve been looking for control deck to play and i´ve chosen UW for that. If im expecting tons of GY decks, is there any reason for not to play RiP/Surgicals in main deck?

EDIT: Or is it just people doesnt find UW good enough

Hey guys, i´ve been "off" lately and totally skipped how things in magic has been going for last 5months, been hearing rumors that Jund has some "difficulties" at the moment? I think new incoming Ravnica allegiance aint bringing anything cool stuff to our midrange goodness i´ll be eating chips and waiting for Unban/ban announcements.

What you think that is there something getting kicked which would help us in our current state in meta?

EDIT: seen some spoodlers and chandras in our decks

    Hey all,

Been playing Humans for a long while and my LGS seems to be catching on the the Arclight Phoenix decks. The Arclight/Titi decks seem great vs humans. Which cards shine and how do we sideboard/beat them? Or is this a matchup deemed unfavourable and unwinable?

Like people have stated that Grafdigger Cages is great there and i´ve been bringing extra copy of Dismember to my sideB.

I think both storm and titan are really good choices in the meta right now. I would like try titan myself but don't have the time to devout to it. You may have some level of initial discouragement with the deck as the decks you have been playing are probably the hardest matches for storm so things might seem sub par but really it is a very good deck and super cheap to build.

The thing i would caution new players to storm about is the reps. If you run it at your LGS, be mentally ready to get hosed for a while. It takes a lot of reps with the deck to be really proficient. Part of the issue is the mistakes you might make aren't always glaring. When you brick a game on a really obvious play with most decks, you learn from it easily and make the correct play in the future. With storm the mistakes you make might be as innocuious as I took a ritual and not a Manamorphos off my T1 slieght of hand or something else innocuous like that. It's a mistake that doesn't jump out at you as costing the game. Then after you've had a 100 reps with the deck you see it and can say oh well that cost me the 2 spells and 1 extra blue mana I needed to get to lethal. Ive been on storm for 3 or 4 months now and trying to jamb at least 10+ tournament games a week and I'm now to the point i feel like any match can be won with it. And the matches I do lose, I'm usually so very close to the win its painful.

I definetly had a point of critical discouragement and moved off the deck for a week, then went back to it and felt much much better about it. Ive got 1 more run with it this week to prep for SCG Open Worcester.

Yeah im aware that Storm is punishing to new players (someone needs to be the ez-bait at LGS), but thats what im looking for, a bit of challenge. I might spend some money to MTGO as well so i can get that going in MTGO as well, might help a bit so i can get my games and experience.

EDIT: Not sure tho about the build which i should go with.

The reason why we play reef over tarn is we are playing a fetchless game as part of the strategy. Most gifts decks usually have 12 cards MD that let you scry cards to the bottom. The cards you scry to the bottom are going to be all cards not furthering the line your current hand is working, so we don't want them this turn, and most likely dont want them in the following turns. So if our deck runs no fetches, once we scry them to the bottom, they are essentially gone for good. That is until you cast a gifts and reshuffle, but at that point, you should have a deterministic win on board. The slight mana thinning of the fetches doesnt out weigh the value of keeping all the sub par draws on bottom.

Thanks VickVega for this. I´ve been playing mostly Humans and Burn for now, but now im intrested of combo decks. Storm would be the number one to go with or TitanShift

    Hello folks,

what do you think of the discussion spirits is the new go to aggro deck?

Spirits had its short moment. In my opinion Humans are still better than spirits overall

On a side note, anyone got mtgo dredge? I know this is totally not couth, but anyone willing to let me barrow it for a day? I want to do that dredge triggers and how to play video and it would help me out. I can do it in paper, but thats more annoying.

Since i got my dredge deck now on paper, im investing in the end of the month to MTGO dredge. Maybe then i can help you
    out with it.

Have you thought of Vengeful Pharaoh in sideboard? Would be a threath itself if opponent has big creatures on board. Also
Maelstrom Pulse is really nice one on side as well.

How many lands you´re using? Is there any specific rule to go with 20 or 21 lands?

EDIT: Im planning to go with 20 lands and having 1 land on sideboard. Something which can destroy special lands.

It fetches for red. It really doesnt matter what type of land you use as long as it gets red. You czn replace the tarn for arif mesas if you want

So basicly if im using just 2x scalding tarns i have that posibility to fetch Steam vents/Red source and then go for 2xArid mesas just for Red?

Not being a jerk, Youre new right? do you know how fetchlands work? Scalding tarn can fetch an island or a mountain. Wooded foothills can fetch a forest or mountain. Arid mesa can fetch a plain or mountain. All of them csn fetch steam vents because steam vents is an island mountain. Every fetchable shockland we play is a mointain.

So it doesnt matter what fetchland you use, as long as it gets mountains

I do, but sometimes my brains are just playing with me, like now Grin All what i was thinking was fetching an island with scalding tarn. Completely shutout that Steam Vents is Mountain as well Smile My bad.
