oh I want to put together a new wee dragonauts feeling deck with Talrand, Sky Summoner.. Who knows fingers crossed my wee little friends will be returning with rav as well.
But why are you not just playing a good creature instead of a vanilla 5/5? If you have control of the game, play something that actually does something.
I assume because that extra mana you are playing for a good creature would take away the mana you need for the disruption
You know what i like about this system. It gives some sort of benefit for those people that organize play in a non tournament setting. also as far as marketing goes it gives a reason for casual players to actually have a DCI account.
Kind of has the feel of the wizards play network before they locked it to retail locations only. Now if only they would let me organize for the schools cub again I would be ecstatic about this.
I had been trying to think of a horror evil human for a bit and coming up primarily white. The obvious witch hunters, inquisition, the fisherman from the I know what you did last summer movies girl from the ring: coming back to dispense justice to the people who wronged him. Norman bates: fanatic about keeping things the way they were.
Then it dawned on me the WG horror villian. Children of the corn and the wicker man. Cults who misguidedly worship something in nature. IE sacrificing the wickerman to ensure a good honey harvest from the bees.

4. With the sheer number of humans in the game at this point ANY kind of tribal will break some card in some set. There are just far too many of them for enough testing to have been done.
We keep hearing that. But really would a creature having "All other humans get +1/+1" really break things so bad? I mean yeah there are a lot of options but just what human cards and teetering on the edge of greatness that all they need is a slighter power bonus to go crazy?
Classic tribes have more going for them that just having a sub type on the card. It isn't the lords that make goblins great it is cards like goblin lacky and Goblin Piledriver" target="blank">Goblin Piledriver.
Or if you look at the other big tribes elves and merfolk they work because they have a crap ton of lords, and cheap lords, making every drop power up everyone else, not just one or two.
Humans may be everywhere but they just arn't built to be a tribe at the moment and I don't really think one set adding a few tribal elements to them would even put them on the same level as the tribes that have had tribal effects since the dawn of magic.
There will probably be a "more human" mechanic, some mechanic relating to all of the other tribes (with the chosen tribes, a transfigure-esque fits the bill)
That is my thought too. Thing that revolve around humans banding together in the darkness against all of the horrors around them. Something like humans get +1/+1 for each other human in play and -1/-1 for each non human in play. kind of like a tribal Descendant of Masumaro
Doesn't change the fact that it's only good in a deck filled with Swamps, and none are currently viable except some growing infect variants, in which case the germ isn't nearly as valuable as a regular mono black aggro deck.
Really? Did you read the other cards? You don't think phyrexian canceler is a bit of a push to make mono black viable?
I get a strong Siege-Gang Commander feel from the big Myr. Doubt it has the sac to deal damage ability but I'm sure it is a big daddy coming in with some friends.
Ooohh... and look, a Karn Totem. Looked just like Chronatog Totem with Karn in its place to me.
{T}: Add {1} to your mana pool.
{5}: Karn Totem becomes a 4/4 Golem artifact creature until end of turn.
Whenever Karn Totem blocks or becomes blocked, it gets -4/+4 until end of turn.
{1}: Target noncreature artifact becomes an artifact creature with power and toughness each equal to its converted mana cost until end of turn. Activate this ability only Karn Totem is a creature.
Sylvok replica cost 3 not 4. That last {g} is used only when activating the ability. You would use this as a deterrent to them playing the game winning artifact. Not in response to it already being down.
That being said it is still hard to find a reason to use it over asidic slime. If you are playing sun Titan maybe. But that is another card that has been outclassed recently.

More like Icatian Crier

Having now seen the basic land art we do know that that land with all the people in spider like cocoons it NOT a basic land.

hehe... no that is way to much text for a card
