Your feeling of quietus spike is similar to mine.too costly yet it's something unpleasant but yet not fast enough I played loxodon warhammer in my deck along with venser's journal. iF your meta is 75% competitive... u will need more lifegain.

Hallar decks need alot of mana.

While the choice of kicker spells is different, as more people know your deck , you have to adapt more.

I usually have to do a big pump, then kick 2 spells in the single turn as my commander tends to die alot

hi rogerandover, i don know how to make a decklist in forum, so i PMed my listing to you. not sure it's a good listing, i am playing what i owned in paper, and sort of suited my style and metagame. Maybe you can proxy up and test and help me improve it

Aeon Chronicler, Kefnet the Mindful, Nezahal, Primal Tide, Toothy, Imaginary Friend
Psychosis Crawler, Soramaro, First to Dream, Sturmgeist

These fatty at least would work well with the saboteur looters we have in our list

Yuriko is good no doubt, but tetseko will always be the representitive of the mono color generals i owned.

Version 1 :started out like OP's listing or jumbocommnder listing.... a friend said the deck feels like a swarm of mosquito.. not pain and not fast enough

version 2 : goes with a 18 counters... still not fast enough to race in the midgame, while being able to counter more, the mana always not fast enough

Version 3 : ditch some counters , cut those saboteur spell, left looter and saboteur creatures added 8 x fatties and mana rocks.... finally can race in the midgame

Don think my listings is good , but at least it can stand in my meta.

following an edric style is probably not the best way for the deck... this deck is too slow

I have a friend that played Phenax, and his win rate in multiplayer is not bad.

Play fast defense - play something defender or fat early... If opponent see your */* fat down there, they are not going to attack you.

Big mill - the idea of trying to mill each opponent to library death is kinda of flawed, especially irritating if you have to remind everyone to mill to the next land... big milling reduced the irritating feeling, and coupled with reanimation = a steady supply of blockers.

Small amount of untapping - the blue wisp, the Thousand-Year Elixir helps to mill faster or grants psedo vigilance if you are attacking.

Captured by the Consulate provides a little protection for your Commander, and can return via Tiana's Marchesa like ability.

It's a tool for combating collusion between 2 other players. If you played alot of Commander games and many players/playgroup, you will realize, Some games the players are colluding.. and it's very hard trying to put aura or equiping yr commander with 2 to 3 player's worth of resources/removal.

Captured by the Consulate is just a subtle card to create a little rift between them.

I have seen yr other threads, you really don't like tutors.. :p As for me, I am not a fan of excessive tutoring too, but I do allow myself the maximum of 2 tutors in one deck, ... in a metagame of non combo, sometimes you just need to find something to stop people from going cray cray.

The problem with Glissa, while you are just a valuetown commander, you are often perceived as threat...so its hard to keep her around.
Graveyard hate is also a problem, you can try to bait out relic , play wisely or just play at least 3 to 4 artifact hate cards and play around bojuka bog.

lastly glissa have problem closing games...

here are a few more cards that you can consider
Sylvok Replica - Team "I hate graveyard hate"
Attrition - glue of your deck , someone has to do the killing for glissa... helps get creatures to graveyard
Command tower - best land in commander?

One of the cheaper tutor that have worked well in my Sidisi edh is Jarad's Orders
You can tutor for a solution while setting up for a threat to be recurred

    Hi tev
I have a habit of roughly grouping decklist by functionality. So I just roughly grouped your listing. Some cards have multiple functions, but I grouped them by their primary function. Lands are excluded from the function, as their primary function is to tapped for mana..

So which cards is put in the wrong group? or which group is wrongly named

    Nightscape yes, jet medallion no

tested nightscape familar for awhile, considered him a mana rock variant, decent blocker.does it 's job
Don't think jet medallion is good, not creature, reduction for black spell only. Be it combo or aggro, the amount of creatures this deck need is high.

Tev's aggro listing main consideration are probably Creatures before and after marchesa, enough number of high ceiling creatures cards that would impact the board, Black devotion cards that are useful and help the gray merchant... and replacing the non creature permanents in the deck with new cards that is similar or better.
