the part that I personally hate about pod is how consistently is able to tut for answers or difficult cards against the opponents deck. pod will always find voice of resurgence against control, kitchen finks against burn and there are too many cheap creature tool effects in modern, and there will be more every set, linvala, rhino, selfless spirit, eidolon of rectoric, melira, restoration angel... If Pod had a constriction effect like, only green creatures it would be different (only plus one mana is not a constriction at all), but this way I fond it difficult to unban. Maybe one day wizards prints a "magus of the pod" or something similar without phyrexian mana or "haste".
I believe that the players weren't really prepared for KCI, or by disregarding it as a threat or by being unfamiliar with it. Nonetheless Ancient Stirrings is worth of a ban, being able to choose 1 out 5 cards is too good especially in decks that can abuse it, amazes me that the best cantrip in modern is green.
as for the jeskai topic, all control deck become the best depending on the meta. personally I think jeskai or UR moon decks are the best control decks in this "unknown" meta. jeskai is good against any type of creature decks, the white part of the SB can give it the best solutions for almost every problem and is the more versatile in terms of wincons. UR moon is a decent tempo/control deck with blood moon, which gives free wins.
yeah im a fan of portent as well. if nothing else than to mess with the top of my opponents deck. still the barrier has been, and will continue to be, standard.
I always thought that excuses like "it will break standard" or "is a oppressive card" is a lazy/poor excuse for not printing a card for modern. especially if we all talking about counterspells and cantrips. Too good of a creatures, free affects and "hate creatures" have been the oppressive cards in the format.
It's weird too me that wizards prints cards like reflector mage before printing man-o-war for example. Maybe counterspell can be to efficient but cancel is not good enough, that's my last taking on the counterspell not being printed in standard for modern.
I like your list a lot, especially the discard bundle. But I dislike the 3-of logic knot, especially without Thought Scour. I personally would play 2 at most. And I don't see any form of cantripping or deck manipulation. IMO, you need at least one playset of a draw spell of your choice (Scour, Serum Visions, Opt, etc.).
i think i really need it but on ther hand i dont see anything that makes the cut. :/
I don't really think you need the cantrips, I played shoota deck with no cantrips and it was good, i would always have a good spell in hand. your card advantage comes from jace, snap, torrential, K command, cryptic and azcanta, but having too many big mana cards you probably need more lands.
if you want to had 4 cantrips, You can trim one of each situational spell, the cantrips will give you some redundancy to compensate. If I were you I would cut a fatal push, a logic knot, terminate and one of the bigger drops.
the problem is that i moved away from tasigur to get jace...maybe thats wrong?
Right now is difficult to say, nobody knows what is the best build but it's an option. the best way to win against ponza, imo, is waitning on the fetches and play the counters at the right time.

Also prohibit could be interesting too.
