Currently I'm running a 17 land deck with these cantrips:
3 x Thought Scour
3 x Serum Visions
2 x Faithless Looting
3 x Mishra's Bauble
If I want to run 2 of Mausoleum Secrets (and go 4 Thought Scour, 2 Faithless Looting, 3 Mishra's Bauble), should I go to 18 lands to accomodate for the overall increase in mana curve? If I go to 18 lands should I cut the baubles? Any advice appreciated!
I tested Crackling Drake early on and its too mana intensive. I only played 10 games with it and never cast it and just started siding it out every match
Gonna be playing Grixis Delver at a pptq this weekend. I think this is the list I'm going to play but if anyone has any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it!
Similar to what Jeff Hoogland has been playing except for the land. I'm not running Scalding Tarns due to budget but I'm also running more basics. I'm expecting to run into a lot of Field of Ruin and Path to Exile. Also I feel like being able to fetch tons of basics might help in shoring up some of the more painful MU's like Humans and Spirits. On that note, does anyone have any pointers on the Spirits MU? Been annihilated a few times by it recently. Any input is appreciated!
I'm just about to put this deck together and I was just wondering why people play Young Pyromancer instead of Goblin Rabblemaster? It seems to me that YP would be not as good of a late game topdeck as Rabblemaster, especially against other control decks. Not to mention the super fast clock it presents if you play it early. Also, Rabblemaster is slightly harder to remove with Fatal Push.
Is that Esper Dragon playable? I've never played Esper control outside of messing around with things like Mentor and Ashiok but its got me wanting to try it out.
Not in any Esper shell I've ever heard of.
Not as a finisher in Esper Control? The fact that it has flash is pretty good. Flashing in at end step + cant be countered is pretty good seeing as how you can basically immediately untap right after. 7 mana is a lot but not unrealistic in a control deck like that.
Not sure if this list really belongs here because it's sort of become more of a control/tempo deck it seems. Here's the list I've been working on and have done quite well with lately on Xmage.
The deck basically plays out like a more aggressive version of UW Control. Hierarch is just amazing at accelerating you into your tempo moves like T2 Remand (or queller), T3 Cryptic Command (or Snap - Remand), Baneslayer Angel a turn early if needed, etc. In similar fashion to Jeskai being able to burn out the opponent, Bant gives us a bit more of a beat down element and Hierarch makes things like Snap and Queller into decent beatdown creatures.
So the most obvious omission is Tarmogoyf, and not because of budget as the deck as it is already clocks in around $1500USD. I found in testing that it was just a total lightning rod for removal and didn't do much to help me come back from behind and didn't really represent any form of interaction or tempo gain. Baneslayer Angel is great and is excellent at helping you come back from behind. Other good finishers I've tried are Archangel Avacyn, Elspeth, Knight-Errant (Turns Snap into quite the beater, but dies easy to aggro), and Tireless Tracker (Again, lightning rod for removal).
The deck is far from tuned and can very likely become way better. If anyone has any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it.
I have always run out bomb early if I have it. It kind of fights with mimic in the 2 drop slot but if you know that you're just going to get run over by a bunch of humans anyways then it's probably best to be ready to wipe their board and then slam Smashers after.
I've been trying to decide on a new deck for the past 2-3 months and after trying the following decks:
Sultai Delirium
GR Eldrazi
Esper Mentor
Zoo (many variations including 5c Zoo)
Esper Goryo's Vengeance
Traverse Shadow
Bant Spirits
Esper Shadow
Temur Delver
RW Taxes
I've boiled it down to Esper Shadow and Bant Spirits but I can't figure out which one is better. Currently I'm playing Colorless Eldrazi Stompy and love the deck but I want something more interactive. I'm not interested in hardcore control decks. Something more tempo or midrange. My local meta is Storm, Living End, Infect, Eldrazi Taxes, Grixis Shadow, Burn, Affinity, and Jeskai Control, but I'd like to play something that I could take to a GP or another event with a fairly wide open meta.
In the past I've played Affinity, Merfolk (found the deck very frustrating and generally don't like Vial decks), and Eldrazi Tron (found it boring).
Budget is not much of a factor but preferably around the 900 - 1200 range as that's what I can trade into easily. Any help is appreciated!
*Somehow didnt see this thread and made my own thread asking this question. My bad!

Gabrial Nassif did a video on this deck. His list seems like an abomination to me with 3 cavern of souls and NO BLINKMOTHS.
I have to say though I think I might switch back to Spyglass instead of Needle. Being able to play it along side chalice seems good and also the info it gives seems like it could be useful. Convince me otherwise???
Thanks! Here's my current list. I'm super new to this archetype so feedback is greatly appreciated. Not sure if Snap is necessary with 4 Jace. I tried JTMS and I wasnt too hot on him, kind of just felt like a 4 mana brainstorm...

I'm new to Grixis Control. Loving the deck so far. Is there a reason we don't play Goblin Rabblemaster in the 75? Presents a very fast clock.
