    KARN IS BACK !!!!!

We've known that he'd be back for quite a while now. Same with Teferi.

I'm seriously wondering what Karn's abilities will be.

Also nice to see Tezzeret getting more love these days.

Wouldn't that make it basically impossible to get rid of?
    Isn't that the point?

Even if it can't die, it can still be bounced, exiled or spun into myth.

I did it that way because the original is also difficult to get rid of, but not impossible.

    How about this wording:

    Progenitus, Soul of the World
    WWUUBBRRGG
    Legendary Creature - Hydra Avatar
If ~ would leave the battlefield, exile it instead of putting it anywhere else, then return it to the battlefield under its owner's control.
    10/10

Second, on the topic of Vraska dating: Vraska is Ravnican. Ravnica is not a medieval world, its more 19th century minus guns (well, minus non magic guns). Dating is a thing on Ravnica. Vraska would not only be familiar with the idea, but it would be her go to word to describe "hanging out with someone to have fun and potentially bone down the line". Ravnicans date. The also go to nightclubs and fancy restaurants, have a regular police force, have indoor plumbing, and have many modern amenities. They have streetlights, sewers, trains (well, giant bugs that serve as trains), videophones, teleporters, and all kinds of crazy techno magic. It's supposed to feel like a city, dating is definitely a thing there.

This started out as a justification for Vraska talking about dating, and then somehow turned into an explanation for why Ravnica is awesome.

You're not wrong, but I don't think those particular shapes on that particular art have any meaning.

For the record, I actually don't believe that those point to a Bolas connection. I was just making a joke. :p

After Amonkhet I see Bolas shapes in every shadow. Uhh

The plot twist is that it isn't just a joke, and it's actually legit.

Also, concerning the date between Vraska and Jace... when you are a powerful, hardened, veteran killer fighting regularly in medieval worlds, you can't understand or be appealed by the concept of dating, that's just silly.
Call it a rendez-vous, a meeting, a briefing, an attack plan or whatever but not a date, that's ridiculous Laughing

None of those are appropriate terms for a casual night on the town.

English is not my native language but "meeting" seems good enough.
The point wasn't to find an appropriate term anyways, just to not call this a date.

Considering "date" is in her vocabulary, why wouldn't she use it? Also we're talking about the same woman who reads history books and memoirs, and goes to different worlds to collect decorations for her flat, in her spare time. Vraska isn't a simple character. For all we know (as I don't remember if this is canon or not), she might have entertained the notion before, but thought it'd never work because of who she is and what she does.

And nobody is talking about liliana betraying the gatewatch on amonkhet because?

What are they doing to her because of that incident?

Because people for some reason are willing to forget she is a Villain who is using the Gatewatch for her own ends and has always planned on betraying them when it suited her from the start.

We also don't have selective memories about her actions when they finally encountered Bolas. She did betray them, but she tried to appeal to them to stop being suicidal idiots first.

I'm not even counting that to be honest, wasn't her first major moment in the flavor Assaulting Tharaben with an army of Zombies and unleashing the demons that Avacyn sealed in the Helevault on Innistrad?

IIRC, Thraben was assaulted by Gisa and Geralf, not Liliana.

Liliana actually did assault Thalia's crew to force her to blow up the Helvault so she could murder Griselbrand.

Vraska may be hardened, but she doesn't have a complete lack of social skills.

What I'm looking forward the most is a little breather from the Bolas plot. It's not that I dislike Bolas as a villain, but it'd be nice not to get burnt o-

    Wait what's this?

    Hold on a second-

    aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Bolas is love. Bolas is life. Bolas is everything, and everything is Bolas.

That's probably a cabal member, and the cabal is run by Belzenlok. Since Belzenlok and Bolas are acquainted, there's a good chance he's working for Bolas like Razaketh on Amonkhet.

And just because the Bolas plot happens in the background, it doesn't have to be the focus of the story. I think showing off what the remaining oldwalkers have been up to and tying them in to the current story + Liliana killing her last demon so she is free of her pact (enabling her to take a stand firmly againstBolas, Chain Veil issues notwithstanding) can make for enough story. M19 can then focus more on what's happening with different parts in Bolas's plan (and Ajani/Ugin's) to set everything up proper for Ravnica 3 in october.

I'm pretty sure that some sort of Serran/Benalian paladin. I think the previous poster is just imagining patterns. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Sometimes it is, and sometimes it isn't. If Alara and Amonkhet were any indication, Bolas isn't above manipulating even benign beings for his own ends.

Its a tolarian mage, stop this. Not all asians must be from tarkir.

You're right. They can also be from Kamigawa. Smile

Bolas's old empire Madara is on Dominaria, and it was at least partially Asian. The name the Madarans gave to the local cat-dragons speaks for itself: "Nekoru" (Japanese for... cat-dragon). Tolaria traditionally recruited the most promising students from all over the plane, regardless of nationality.

Granted, said place is where Myojin of Night's Reach dumped Toshiro Umezewa... who knows how many people the Kami exiled to Dominaria.

I kinda already knew Madara was a thing. I was being tongue-in-cheek.

Also if you want to keep talking about Asians in the Multiverse, Innistrad has an Asia-like continent that we never see, and people with Asian features appear on the plane occasionally.

Just seems like your diving pretty deep in the well for just ona character to spit off 3 versions in like a year or two.

Apparently Nissa didn't get that memo.

while I totally agree, it's silly that she has 7 printings (which 4 of are rather recent):

    nissa revane
    nissa, worldwaker
    nissa, vastwood seer
    nissa, voice of zendikar
    nissa, vital force
    nissa, genesis mage
    nissa, steward of elements

At least voice rotated when steward came on board and steward expanded her color base.

I'd rather see the walkers get new and exciting abilities and show up a little more infrequently.

Nissa also underwent a pretty significant character redevelopment from her first introduction. I think the volume of nissa cards could be to reinforce that change. Tezz has been fairly steady as for how he is portrayed. The character doesn't need to be redeveloped as his continues to fit their needs (for now at least).

    Speculation:
On the flip side, I hate to see them seed tezz to support another artifact plane in a year or so... but it's been awhile since we've checked on phyrexia... After what each of the artifact environments has given us (affinity from mirrodin, caw blade heavily impacted by scars, and energy/copter from kaladesh)...I'm hoping it's just reprint fan service and not design direction if he does get a walker. Or they find a way to make him useful without tutoring or empowering artifacts.

If Tezzeret doesn't tutor or empower artifacts in any way, then it isn't Tezzeret IMO.

Considering Tezzeret is depicted as being on Alara here (looks like the border between Esper and Grixis), chances are his Core Set appearance might be him doing something on his home plane.

I put both versions in the OP, since it will be a challenge to decide which to go with.
