So, I've been thinking about getting into Jund (or Abzan maybe) despite it falling out of meta popularity. I have a few questions.
    1. Why is it said that Jund has a bad tron match up? You guys have Fulminator Mage and Crumble to Dust... is that not enough?
    2. Is there a hard fast rule to keeping opening hands? From what I've seen playing against the deck I'm sure you want 3-4x lands, either a Thoughtseize/IoK, and some sort of turn two (Bob or Goyf) or turn three action (Lilly). What's and ideal turn sequence and what needs to be present in order to keep a hand? Obviously the match up will impact this to a degree but in general (say against a gold fish) what are you looking for?

Game 1: 70-80% of the time he wins.
Game 2: you start and FMages are MVP. You can win this game.
Game 3: he starts and if he has tron pieces on 3th turn we have lost. This is the problem, FMage should enter too late, because he starts. So, if he hasn't tron pieces on 3th turn we have a possibility to win....if we have FMage in hand.

I wouldn't bring in surgical against either of those decks. E-Tron comes down to a lot of topdecking, it's going to look bad if they already have access to 5 or 6 mana and you think you're pulling a big one over them by surgical extracting a Tower. I'm honestly not even happy bringing in Fulminator mages against E-Tron, since they have Urza lands or temples to pull the mana they need.

Your UW Control seems correct, it really depends if they're playing the gideon, detention spheres, etc. I've been shaving the terminates instead since they're not really playing anything push does't hit. Bolt sucks. What are you bringing in the damnation for? Are they playing tokens or something?

And what are you surgical extracting? I see no real great targets.

Surgical extraction is one of the hugest traps in modern, and people need to stop bringing it in like a "gotcha" card. Leave the card alone unless you're playing a graveyard dependent deck or a spell based combo deck.

Someone played surgical on me a few weeks ago as Grixis Shadow, and this week against my E-Tron, they were both poor moves and they lost both those games.

Against Eldrazi Tron Fulminator Mage is the best choice you can side in....How you can manage to win against them ?!
Removal + 2 FMages are very strong. All matches I've won against ETron was similar: removal + FMages and sometimes a surgical against lands or creatures as TSeer or RSmasher (I targeted them because he had another one in his hand).

Against UW Control, Surgical is very strong against Snapcaster Mage, Path To Exile, Cryptic Command....in all matches I've made against any Control, the role of SExtraction was for: discard spell to see 2 same cards in his hand -> discard + surgical....spell targeted by Snapcaster mage on the stack...or removed Snapcaster Mage + Surgical on it. In addition FMages in this matchup are very very very very strong.

I am currently reworking the primer to update the sideboard guide and deckbuilding category.
What do you guys think about the uw control and eldrazi tron matchup? What to board out and in?

    With my list:

    ELDRATRON
-2 lightning bolt -2 abrupt decay -2 fatal push
+4 fulminator mage +1 surgical extraction +1 damnation

    UW CONTROL
-2 lightning bolt -2 fatal push (or abrupt decay, depends on if he plays Spreading's seas, Detention Sphere, new Gideon...) -1 terminate
+4 fulminator mage +1 surgical extraction

    Obv is my opinion.

Thanks and that's against Grixis deaths shadow right?

Yes. So, there are some people that decide to keep all discard spells...but I'm not sure this is a good idea.
I have tested so much more against my friend and we choose to side out all of them.

I like your Deck!at the First Time your decision of Tasigur Looks weird but it works good for you:)!do you Play him because he is fatal Push Proof or is His ability also important for you?and why you kicked out lilly the Last hope completely?

Both. Push becomes useless and then a good body + very nice ability choose me to play it 2 copies of maindeck.
About Lilly. In my test it was too low, and I decided to play Golgari Charm in order to beat all small creatures, and in addition destroy all enchantments or save my creatures by a Supreme Verdict.
I love to choose all flexible cards in Jund. And this one is a good choice.

Nice job man! In addition to the last question, how would you sideboard against grixis control and grixis death shadow if you played them?

+4 Fulminator Mage +3 Kitchen Finks +1 Engineered Explosives +1 Nihil Spellbomb
-4 Inquisition of Kozilek -3 Thoughtseize -2 Lightning Bolt

I side out all discard spells because I want to put pressure against his hand and I want to put him in a condition where he doesn't know which card to discard me.

[sorry for my bad english, mate]

Hi mates, yesterday I made TOP8/43 in the Big Summer Modern @ Milan.
    My list was:

    T1: RG TRON 2-1 (1-0)
GAME 1: T3 Karn, Pulse on Karn, T4 Ugin GG.
GAME 2: Land IoK, Land Goyf, Land FMage, Land Liliana, FMage, GG with Goyf.
GAME 3: He didn't have tron pieces on 3th turn and I managed to play FMage, in addition to 2 thoughseize. Tasigur + Liliana brought home the match.

SIDEBOARD: -2 lightning bolt -2 fatal push -1 terminate | +4 fulminator mage +1 surgical extraction

    T2:UR STORM 2-0 (2-0)
GAME 1: I began with 2 discard spells and Liliana 3th turn. Goyf made the rest.
GAME 2: He sided in Blood Moon and Ensnaring Bridge. I began with Iok, Swamp, Verdant, Raging, Thoughtseize, Lightning Bolt, Tasigur. Verdant for Forest and none problem with his Blood Moon on 3th turn. He played Ensnaring Bridge with my Goyf + Tasigur. At the end of this turn Jund Charm +2+2 on Goyf and in my turn Maelstrom Pulse on his Bridge...GG.

    SIDEBOARD: -2 terminate -2 kolaghan's command | +1 jund charm +1 nihil spellbomb +1 golgari charm +1 surgical extraction

    T3:UW CONTROL 2-0 (3-0)
GAME 1: He played a lot of Planeswalkers. New Gideon CC3, Jace Architect of Thoughts, Elspeth Sun's Champion, Gideon Jura, and then Spreading Seas and Detention Sphere. In this game I managed to play 2 discard spells and Liliana of the veil on 3th turn, in order to leave my opponent with 0 cards in hand. On topdeck he drew 2 Gideon and Jace, resolved by Goyf, Ooze and Maelstrom Pulse. The choice of 2 MPulse MD was very strong to me.
GAME 2: Iok, FMage, FMage and then Seize + Liliana..GG.

SIDEBOARD: -2 fatal push -2 lightning bolt -2 kolaghan's command | +4 fulminator mage +1 surgical extraction +1 golgari charm

    T4:ELDRATRON 0-2 (3-1)
    GAME 1: T3 Karn......G2.
GAME 2: I mulligan to 6 in order to keep with a Fulminator Mage. I dind't draw any FMage and I've lost with T4 Tron pieces, with 2 Reality Smasher and Karn.

SIDEBOARD: -2 lightning bolt -2 abrupt decay -1 scavenging ooze -1 fatal push | +4 fulminator mage +1 surgical extraction +1 damnation

    T5:VIZIR COMBO 2-0 (4-1)
GAME 1: A very long game. He played 4 eternal witness and he managed to play 6 Collected Company, but the ability of Tasigur and Ooze brought home the match.
GAME 2: on 4th turn he had Finks, Noble, Bop, Witness. In my turn Anger of the gods. In his next turn he played another Witness, Vizir and another Bop. Subsequently Tasigur + Jund Charm. GG.

SIDEBOARD: -4 liliana of the veil -2 kolaghan's command | +1 damnation +1 jund charm +1 engineered explosives +1 anger of the gods +1 nihil spellbomb +1 surgical extraction

    T6:UW CONTROL I.D. (4-1-1)

The prizes were 100%, so we decided to split all prizes in the TOP8.
    Some considerations:

    - 4 Fulminator Mage: I don't know how you should win against Uw Control, Rg Valakut, Mirrors, Eldrazi, Tron....without Fulminator Mage. This was MVP in a lot of matches. Nevermore under 3-4 copies.

    - 2 Maelstrom Pulse MD: wow. It is the first time to play 2 of maindeck. This was the best choice I've ever made with Jund. Maindeck is a flexible slot against any kind of deck.

    - 2 Tasigur, The Golden Fang: the star of the deck. You should try it.

-1 Rakdos Charm, 1 Golgari Charm, 1 Jund Charm: Three wonders cards. I love flexibility in my sideboard, and they managed to do what I need. Rakdos Charm is less powerful than others, but is very strong right now.

-Nihil Spellbomb: I prefer this card instead of Leyline of the Void. Absolutely. In addition to Rakdos Charm, Jund Charm and Surgical Extraction....I'm happy against graveyard decks.

-3 Kitchen Finks: I expected some Mirrors, Burn and Grixis Shadow...but there were maybe 6/7 players with these decks.

So, I'm very happy with this list, and in the next tournament I'll play the same list.
Do u have any questions about my list?

Congrats on the success and great report!

Very interesting decklist. I have been wanting to play tasigurs but I'm afraid of revealing one off of a Bob trigger. I will probably give them a try because they are very strong with all the fatal pushes in the meta.

Many people on this forum have been discouraged with fulminator mages. It seems like they put in work for you this weekend. I have personally had a difficult time against UW control and Grixis control. Is it good in these matchups? How about the Etron matchup?

How did your graveyard hate work out for you? I have seen less surgicals being played and have not seen many decks with rakdos charm and Jund charm. Can you provide some insight into those choices?

I switch between Jund, Abzan and BG Rock depending on the meta and in my experience Tireless Tracker is best in BG rock with 4 ghost quarters and fetchlands. I have found it difficult squeezing tracker into kinds 75 because BG rock already plays maindeck ghost quarters and Jund/Abzan usually play some fulminators for this type of effect. With that said the card is awesome and can run away with games. It's the perfect card to bring in when you know they are going to bring in graveyard hate against you. The card grows into a monster and provides insane card advantage. If you can find room for it I recommend trying 2-3 in the 75 in order to diversify and mitigate the risk of getting hurt by graveyard hate.

    Thanks again for your report!

Fulminator Mage: land denial is very strong in my meta with some RG Valakut, Eldrazi, Tron, Control. The choice of the full playset...I want to play it on 3th turn and I want to see in multiple copies as soon as possible. I think or 3 or 4...or none. I know that on the draw isn't the best choice, but with KCommand can do a lot of things.

Jund Charm/Rakdos Charm: In a lot of tests, I've found that removing the graveyard after the trigger of Living End/Dredging is the best choice you can do. I don't like Leyline because of....start or dead card. In addition, in multiple copies is a dead card. Bleah. I prefer Nihil Spellbomb instead. I have chosen JCharm and RCharm for their flexibility.
On the other hand, Surgical Extraction is only for 'combo' and some annoying cards.
In conclusion, the choice of these cards is due only to the fact that they are instants, and therefore play them when I need them most. And very often, if you play at the right time, you win the game, as I did in the tournament.

Hi all, yesterday I made 5-2 in PPTQ @Milan. (on 4-1 I gave the game to my friend, because I was not interested in the qualification of PPTQ).

My list was imprinted against certain decks as Living End-Dredge, EldraTron, Company, Burn.
I've found all of these decks.

    T1: LIVING END 2-1 (1-0)
GAME1: we were on topdeck, I have a Scavenging Ooze 6/6 and he was at 2 life points. He hadn't drawn the cascade spell.
GAME 2: 3 fulminator mage on the other part and I didn't drawn any other land
GAME 3: I had Scavenging Ooze and Tasigur onto the graveyard (the first removed by Beast Within and the second discarded by Liliana of the Veil). He had a lot of creatures in his graveyard, but my Rakdos Charm on his Living End brought home the match.

SIDEBOARD: +4 Fulminator Mage, +1 Damnation, +1 Surgical Extraction, +1 Rakdos Charm, +1 Jund Charm, +3 Kitchen Finks, +1 Maelstrom Pulse | -2 Lighting Bolt, -2 Fatal Push, -2 Abrupt Decay, -1 Liliana, the Last Hope, -2 KCommand, -3 Terminate

    T2: BW POX 2-1 (2-0)
GAME 1: He played a deck with Bloodghast, Bitterblossom, Lingering Souls, Gideon, Sorin, Discard Spells, Smallpox. An annoying deck. I started on the draw with IoK, Tseize, Push, Bolt, Blackcleave, Terminate, DConfidant. Yes, only one land but I was on the draw with 4 cc1 spells. I didn't draw any other land in the next 5 turns.
GAME 2: Discard, Discad, Confidant, Liliana and then Tarmogoyf + Tasigur. G3
GAME 3: He played Leyline of the Void on the start, but my discard spells and Liliana the Last Hope brought home the match.

SIDEBOARD: +1 Jund Charm, +1 Engineered Explosives, +1 Maelstrom Pulse, +4 Fulminator Mage | -2 Fatal Push, -2 Lightning Bolt, -1 KCommand, -2 Terminate
(I wanted to keep all discard spell because he played a lot of spells which annoying me.

    T3: BURN 0-2 (2-1)
GAME 1: Mulligan to 5. 5 lands. Scry 1: land, bottom. I drew other 2 lands.
GAME 2: Mulligan to 5. 4 lands and 1 spell. Scry 1: land, bottom. I drew other 2 lands.......

SIDEBOARD: +4 Fulminator Mage, +3 Kitchen Finks, +1 KCommand | -4 Dark Confidant -3 Thoughtseize, -1 Maelstrom Pulse

    T4: COMPANY 2-0 (3-1)
GAME 1: He played a strange Company deck with Knight of Reliquary, Voice, Finks, Sigarda, Tracker....This was a very long game, even if Dark Confidant gave me 9-10 additional cards.. Tasigur and Ooze the MVP of the game.
GAME 2: Discard, Removal + Discard, Ooze. Also this game was very long. He had Witness + Bop, + Hierarch, +Token Voice. In my other part Tasigur + Goyf and a Confidant and I had 3 Life Points. Jund Charm in this moment brought home the match.

SIDEBOARD: +3 Kitchen Finks, +1 Damnation, +1 Anger of the Gods, +1 Engineered Explosives, +1 Jund Charm | -4 Liliana of the Veil, -2 KCommand, -1 Liliana the Last Hope (I think that against this type of deck it is useless)

    T5: ELDRATRON 2-1 (4-1)
GAME 1: He drew all cards he needed.
    GAME 2: Bob + Fulminator + Fulminator + KCommand + Seize. GG. My 2 Goyf were 6/7
GAME 3: Seize + Bob + Fulminator + 2 KCommand. GG with the ultimate of Liliana of the Veil.

SIDEBOARD: +4 Fulminator Mage, +1 Maelstrom Pulse, +1 Damnation, +1 KCommand | -1 Liliana the last Hope, -2 Lightning Bolt, -2 Fatal Push, -2 Abrupt Decay

    T6: ELDRATRON -- (4-2)
I've found my friend and I decided to give the game to him and split all prizes he managed to win. I'm not interested in the RPTQ qualification, instead of my friend.
He arrived in the final match but he lost =(.

    T7: RG VALAKUT 2-1 (5-2)
GAME 1: Discard Spell on his Explore/Farseek and he drew the same....2 times. Primeval Titan GG with Valakut.
GAME 2: Seize + Bob + Fulminator Mage + KCommand + Surgical / Fulminator Mage.
GAME 3: Seize, IoK, Fulminator Mage, Fulminator Mage, Liliana. GG.

SIDEBOARD: +4 Fulminator Mage, +3 Kitchen Finks, +1 Surgical Extraction, +1 Kolaghan's Command | -2 Lightning Bolt, -2 Fatal Push, -2 Abrupt Decay, -1 Liliana the last Hope, -1 Maelstrom Pulse, -1 Terminate

    Some considerations:
-Tasigur, the Golden Fang: I know you wrinkled your nose with Bob + Tasigur hahahaha, but Jund needs a big creature now, and I think that Tasigur is the best choice. I don't like Olivia/Huntmaster for their bodies. Right, 6 damages with Bob are very relevant (for now I have never happened in the tournament. Only in test, and I didn't lose).
-23 Lands: the perfect number right now.
-Jund Charm: it is the best flexibility slot which I won't never cut.
-7 discard spells MD: Now there are a lot of spells that they mustn't enter onto the battlefield. I think that it is the best choice.
-4 Raging Ravine: I will never leave home without them. I always want to have them in hand.

A question: I would have a report about Tireless Tracker in Jund. Anyone have tested him?
Finally, what do u think about my list?

Hi mates, I want to try this list, because in my 2 tournments where I made top8/top4 I saw that Lightning Bolt is a poor card right now.

I don't want to cut the combo PFire + GotBurnwillows..
I got started from the list of QBTURTLE15, which is making excellent results. In comparison though, I want to play Dark Confidant (there are a lot of Grixis in my meta) and PFire instead of Bolt.
What do u think about the list?

they are flexible slots, because with Jund Charm I can add another "wrath" removal in a lot of matchups, and about Rakdos Charm I can add it in the Affinity/Lantern matchup (because I don't play Ancient Grudge).
These slots should be 2 nihil spellbomb, but I consider to play them because of their flexibility.

Yesterday I made 4-0 with this strange list (I've called it New Jund):

    G1: VIZIR 2-0
    G2: INFECT 2-0
    G3: BANT ELDRAZI 2-1
    G4: LIVING END 2-1

It is a strange list, with strange choices.
About 22 lands: I don't need so much lands with this list. I need only some cards in the graveyard in order to play Tasigur as soon as possible.
About 5 Lilianas: I want to see this one every game. And then, now I can see every match.
So, I think that I'll receive a lot of bad comments about my list hahaha, but you should try it =)

I like your list a lot. Looks a lot like my list. The only thing different is my mana base (I only play 1 Swamp and 1 Forest). My sideboard is very different however. I have two Diabolic Edict because True-Name Nemesis is annoying and so are reanimator and Omni-Show. What purpose does Collective Brutality have for you? Moving the two Bloodbraid Elf to the sideboard is pretty smart. It fixes the issue I've been having with the card.

So, I've never drew Cbrutality in this tournments. i dont know if this is a good choice or not. It was only a test. About edict, I think you have the reason, because TNN is very annoying.
The choice of 2 swamp and 1 forest is because of the playset of Belf. i want to play it ever;in addition blood moon.
And then, 2-2 belf is the best choice I've made in this tournment LOL

Hi mates, yesterday I made TOP8/46 in MLL(Milan Legacy League) with Jund.
    This is my decklist:

    T1: PATRIOT 1-1 (0-0-1)
GAME 1: A very long game. Finally he was at 2 life points with True-Name Nemesis and a Umezawa's Jitte. Into my battlefield: Liliana at 2, Tarmogoyf 7/8, Deathrite Shaman. He had lost mathematically in short. Instead he managed to draw a Swords to Plowshares which he moved the balance needle in his favour: StP to Goyf, Combat on Lily with TNN and 2 counters to Deathrite Shaman. I've lost the match in this mode.
    GAME 2: Land-Deathrite, Land-Liliana, Land-Elf + Goyf and then, Elf + PFire...GG.
GAME 3: Another very long game. I hadn't draw any KCommand or Lilly in order to destroy his Batterskull, and then the bell rang. 1-1

    T2: NEW MIRACLE 2-0 (1-0-1)
    GAME 1: Deathrite-Tourach-Tourach + Liliana. GG
GAME 2: The choice to split 2 Elf MD and 2 SB was very strong. The pressure it gave me was what I needed. 2 Elf + some discard spells and I brought home the match.

    T3: DEATHBLADE 1-2 (1-1-1)
GAME 1: A grindy match. But 2 Goyf 7/8 resolved the match.
GAME 2: He drew all spells he needed. He managed to counter 2 Tourach and a Toxic Deluge with 2 Nemesis.
GAME 3: He made Shaman, Stoneforge, TNN, TNN, Jace. I drew only lands and I mulligan to 5.

    T4: SNEAK&SHOW 2-1 (2-1-1)
GAME 1: he won easily despite of a Tourach.
GAME 2: Duress + SExtraction on Sneak. Another Seize on STell and Goyf made me the victory.
GAME 3: Duress-Counter, Tourach-Counter, Show&tell --> show: Griselbrand and Chains of Mephistopheles. In my turn Liliana of the Veil and I won the game.

    T5: UB CONTROL 2-1 (3-1-1)
GAME 1: Another very long game. He played a strange deck with Crucible of Worlds-EE-Academy Ruins and Volrath's Stronghold. I conceded after 10 minutes -.-.
    GAME 2: Seize + Tourach + Bob + Elf + Elf. G3.
GAME 3: A very very very long game. I managed to do the Ultimate of Liliana, but he drew Crucible. He drew all removal he nedeed, but in the second additional turn 2 Elf brought home the match (Punishing Fire and Goyf cascade ability).

    T6: ESPER MIRACLE 2-1 (4-1-1)
GAME 1: I didn't draw any discard spell and, on the other hand, he drew all Predict he needed. I conceded after his 3th predict, even if he hadn't the finisher.
GAME 2: Shaman, Tourach, Elf + Elf. G3.
    GAME 3: Seize + Duress + Tourach + Liliana / Chains. GG.

    TOP8: GRIXIS CONTROL 0-2
GAME 1: I drew all Decays. A Gurmag Angler the finisher.
GAME 2: I had only dual + Grove in my hand. I played Seize and Goyf. He drew at 3th turn Blood Moon and I've lost the match.

So, I'm very happy about my second positive result with this decklist.
With Jund I made only 2 tournments...I can't wish for better.
With this top8, I finished 4th in the final League Ranking (Before Sensei's ban I played Miracles, and then Jund).

Now, I'll test Liliana the Last Hope. I think it makes do a lot of things now.

What do u think about my list?
