Is this the way Town!Chris deals with getting mislynched?
apparently he hasn't been mislynched for 8 years since last game where he was hammered in lylo before given the chance to say anything so who knows

    (sorry i could not resist)

I mean, I am voting x=y so can we please not do dumb things for the sake of your dumb wincon?
    Rolleyes

With or without my vote, someone is likely to be lynched. If it's you, I'm not missing out.

    vote: xequalsy

I swear though, if someone puts you in L-2 range again, I'm going to get very testy. Will take this moment to say I don't care for the manner of Kami's vote either. I've always hated "answer my question" votes, or "do this or else my vote stays" votes. Most of the time it's scum looking for excuses to place an unwarranted vote.

I just assumed you have to kill targs
    Ding ding ding.

Though my scumreads of xequalsy and Hunger are independent of that. It doesn't help that my motivation is through the floor for [redacted].

I really would rather vote Hunger or xequalsy. But I need to be on your train if you're getting lynched.

    Hm.

What are the odds that we're being dunked by a Cantrip/RE wolfteam?
    0, I am town.

I've given you options for scum, and you're not listening. You're townreading my strongest suspect. I'd be down with killing Hunger - and it would help with the gamestate.

If you want to tinfoil though, best read all my posts and figure out why I'm doing what I'm doing.

How hard was Rodemy going at Hunger? And did Hunger respond?

This is L-2, if I've counted correctly.

That does surprise me to hear. I recall Vaimes being very proactive and all "rawr" as town, more than this. He feels weak here but you are telling me this is as strong as it gets? Hrm.

That's disappointing if accurate. Remind me why you are voting me again?
Your reasoning on xequalsy. It feels really basic. Several players found 1053 suspicious, day 1 mainly. Shinichi, Wisp, and Vaimes to a degree (though the latter disagreed with the town reads on them, not sure if they strongly suspected them). I also found 1053 suspicious, but understood them better through further interactions, and coupled with their claim, could understand their motivation behind discussing mechanics day 1.
I disliked the shot on them because it was done carelessly, as was Rod's shot on Shinichi day 1. If it's a public vig, obviously the targets will have to be LHF, otherwise they'd arouse suspicion (stronger than the kind present currently). I also haven't gotten the sense xequalsy strongly suspects his targets. What I do sense is xequalsy targeting 1053 instead of his vote candidate Shinichi because it's easier to hide pushing Shinichi as many still are suspicious of him.

(I'm not actually voting you. But I have plans to.)

Also as for Vaimes here is the thing. I would be les inclined to think he was scum if he was acting the exact same there. Scum correct their games all the time. They make adjustments. You have to look for true substance to determine alignment. Like I read rod's zeal as initially townie but then his slot shot obv town with scummy processes. Big uh oh. Town Vaimes should have been leading the charge against me if he thought I was scum. With fervor. Sorry I dont feel that here. He talks smack but waits for people to vote me to jump on. It is weakness in play.

But don't take my word for it let's get some targ blood on our hands. Against my wincon but I don't like my wincons anyway
There's a difference between scum going from an aggressive approach and getting lynched day 1 for it then dialing back their game a bit to resemble their town meta more (Rodemy), and scum crumbling and "correcting" that with enthusiasm (Vaimes). One's a lot easier to do.

Sensed the latter with Rodemy, to be honest, only he couldn't keep up. But not using that as reason to vote xequalsy.

I'm too lazy to pull it up, but if you ISO Cantrip you should find it.

Also I am town reading hunger because in targ chat last night rod went hard trying to convince hunger I could be scum so I dont think that was w/w for my benefit. Also 2/3 scum in a faction for meta reasons seems very off.
Though this tidbit of info will be useful with knowledge of Chris' alignment.

I want to vote Chris, for reasons I've already stated and haven't, but there are a couple things pinging me the opposite direction.

Namely the null reads on Cantrip and me. I haven't reread him closely but think scum at this point would be aware of Cantrip's "check" of me. Also am thinking IRL is the reason for his lack of control over this game.

Main reason I think Vaimes is town, and I'm sheeping Grape here, is due to the differences between his game here and his scum game in DiTF. He crumbled in DiTF. He may have been able to fake the eagerness for the first couple of (IRL) days in this game as scum, but his enthusiasm's been persistent throughout the game. So I'd like Sir Chris's thoughts on that, whether he's factoring DiTF at all when reading Vaimes, or not.

Judging a person on their first post afte rbeing replaced in? Ewww?
Don't think I explained it properly if that's your reaction. Didn't really explain it all, did I?

It wasn't their first post. Maybe I said it was, my bad. It was one of their first posts, #2064. Maybe I'm reading too much into their tone, but they've got a weak way of explaining their reads/pushes.

On a road trip for the next 6 days. Think it's gonna be night sooner than I get back. Will be posting minimally but that's what I've been doing anyway...

I get the motive in leaving xequalsy alive. Can't be entirely certain he's scum, and if he's town, his ability is valuable. I don't have a stronger scumread at this time, but I'll consider an alternative.

I'll also say I don't like Sir Chris' vote on xequalsy right after mine. I think it uses chainsaw reasoning. Not sure if this automatically makes them T/W. Also think it's incredible he's scumreading Vaimes, but I need to take a closer look at his reasoning/progression there.

    @xequalsy
    Why kill 1053 over Shinichi?
What do you think of the plan where (for following days) we have a discussion on who you shoot? Is there a reason you'd rather keep your target a secret until you actually make the shot? Think it's best we get this cleared up sooner than later; not sure why we didn't make a decision on whether or not to control your shot + getting claims before flips sooner.

Still have to read what exactly happened in more detail, but as a public day vig, there are far more effective strategies, I feel, than "dropping the bomb."

I'm going to try to hold off from mechanical discussion as much as possible since I just wrapped up a game where relying on it screwed me over, but should it not work like a second lynch? Where the target player should at least be given the opportunity to claim before being killed. That was the not case with Shinichi, and I know 1053 claimed, but I strongly believe that sort of claim should have made anyone hesitant in pursuing them, especially combined with their behavior day 1.

Lack of time, when involving killing, redirecting, anything with a dangerous outcome, should lead to the ability not used at all, rather than it impulsively wasted when people's lives are at stake.

Was really not impressed by their first post upon subbing in this game either.
