One of my game stores, as well as SCG & Card Titans, like to hold No Ban List Modern. I thought about Eldrazi but I like affinity more. The artifact lands, Disciple of the Vault and Second Sunrise. So I thought about a Affinity aggro/burn deck like it was in 2004. Here's what I've been thinking of.
The idea should be visible, burn/damage as fast as possible, use Second Sunrise to help with OTK. Trying to get a good balance of lands so I can not get stuck with too much of one color. Threw in some uber drawing with Reverse & Thought and Skullclamp. However, I think I COULD drop the Skullclamps for Reverse Engineering and Frogmite. Not sure.
I wouldn't rune Skewer the Critics as you NEED your opponent to take damage. Yes, we frequently get damage in but turn one, I rather suspend a Rift Bolt than wait around one or two turns for me to get a Goblin Guide or bolt to get the Spectacle cost off on Skewer. Light Up The Stage is a fun card, but I don't see us playing it honestly. I rather have Faithless Looting or Wheel of Fortune instead for draw power.
Something I saw back in 2012. I just found the deck list and I'm updating it. I wanted to get some opinions on how to make it a little bit better. I've played it before in 2012, 2013 and 2015. I want to try rebuilding it again.
As you can see, a TON of control. It's a fun deck to play. But I'm sure there's other things I can add/subtract. I've been trying to keep my on B/R for a while. I was looking at some stuff, here's a short list but I'm not 100% what could leave/go.
Do the two Thalia's count as separate creatures or are they different named?
EDIT: I"ve been toying with doing a similar mono white weenie or w/g weenie, and i've been a fan of Wrath of God as I'm an old school lover and remember being dropped on me back in the day. Is it obsolete now or can I still run *** as a 2/3 of in weenie?
@void_nothing: And who says I'm too old to learn at 32. Thanks, I thought if I gave my creature Shroud, DEBT would be applied and cause my equipment to fall off.
@Megatog201: I still find Lighting Greaves too slow, yes it gives haste, yes it's a tow drop with free equip cost. But it doesn't net me anything really. Most field[spot removal played like Dismember & Lightning Bolt are too small for Broodstar. Yes, Path to Exile, Doom Blade, & Go for the Throat can hit my beefy Broodstar as well as my equally dangerous Atog, Ravenous & Ornithopters.
All jokes aside, is there a website I can download the Current Rulings Document? Or is there reading materials I learn the how the stack and chains works? I understand how a chain works in Yu-Gi-Oh! But that's a COMPLETELY different game but operates similarly.
@Argus Panoptes: Thank you, that helps too. I thought MBT would remove all the Replicates but I didn't want to assume. We both know how to spell that word. I rather sound stupid asking the same question again than go to an event and look stupid thinking it worked the way I thought it did.
@void_Nothing: Wouldn't we be applying Damage Enchanting/quipped Blocked Targeted to Shroud? I can find neither support for or against it, but I would assume this is what would happen.
Broodstar has Cranial Plating. I now give it Lightning Greaves, which gives it Haste & Shroud which prevents me from targeting it with Spells & Abilities. Broodstar now has Haste & Shroud, due to him having Shroud and I can no longer target him, Cranial Plating falls off.
I know that's how Daybreak Coronet works. Say my Broodstar has Rancor and only Rancor, I try to give him Daybreak Coronet but you cast Disenchant on Rancor, my Rancor goes to GY (then my hand) and my Darybreak Coronet has no legal target, it in turn falls off and fizzles to the graveyard. That's the official ruling of Daybreak Coronet.
