It's really not that hard to not get banned. Maybe a suspension along the way but a banning seems like a pretty hard job.

One of my friends got banned for saying something a little off-color (even though it wasn't even that bad. It wasn't even a racial slur or anything, it was just harsh banter)

Getting banned would suck, I've spent almost $300 on the game. Kinda shifted my magic money into LoL recently :p

Also if you guys want to put me on the list in the starting post, I'm NightArcher06 on LoL, and I have a smurf named GimmickAccount.

I play it in almost every one of my decks that runs blue. Although as with Iona and Ulamog, I might not include it in some decks fearing the bribery. It's honestly a card that 'too good' for the format in my opinion.

If you're gonna run the pact route, run 5 color. Ask them, how many different colors of pacts can they pay for? There are very few 5 color decks that you'll run against (although not unheard of). That way, when you draw hive mind, you'll pretty much always have a pact in hand. This also gives you come nice utility in conflux, which can find all 5 pacts, or 4 pacts and hive mind, etc.

So why did it exist outside the public view, would it not have been better to allow every member to access it and join in the discussion? Does it not seem redundant to have had this and help desks as well?

It wasn't a forum that could be in public view because of the inherent nature of it. It's not a watchdog forum, it's a forum with no rules (minus illegal stuff). Being a website about a card game that's marketed to almost all ages, there are children on this website that can't view that kind of material, so it had to be hidden from the main forum.

Yeah, I can see that. We're sort of in the middle of a low-fantasy block now, not a lot of room for her more colorful stuff. It has to be all dark and broody and Twilighty. I would have loved to see her chosen to do the art for Garruk 2, Chandra 3, and Jace 3.

I'm kinda of the opinion that this is the perfect time for her art. Kind of like in shadowmoore, there's always room for beauty in dark places.

    not grave yard hate?
you running swords of feast and famine?

You really don't need graveyard hate for the most part. Any deck you'd be worried about it from you can usually steamroll before they get a chance to go anywhere. I took the OP's 75 to states this past weekend and took 2nd place, and that list doesn't run any GY hate. It just isn't necessary for deck's that we're seeing at the moment.

Not that this isn't generating good content, but I think you guys are getting hung up over nothing. Also Unvote my rando vote.

Someone already asked beary to stop, I doubt (he/she?) will. I don't like it either though. It makes reading a player a lot harder to do, which is an asset to a mafia member. It's not vote-worthy, but it's annoying and suspicious.

Oh my gosh, how nice it is to make my first post in a new game and have it NOT be 100-posts deep.

    Vote Pinkfloyd
    for generally being scummy. Sneaky

You would think that, but the other game I referred to made both of those a non-factor in every way, and this idea still bloomed and I really don't know why. There has to be more to it than that.

Also thanks for waiting everyone... Slant

I felt that you, like Sep, was this huge force to be reckoned with, but you never really did much of anything.

I don't know where everyone gets this misconception from (this has come up in another mafia game i'm not allowed to talk about)... I'm not experienced at this game, and I have a bad habit of folding under pressure. Honestly, I want to know.

After doing a reread and a bit of contemplation, I'm pretty sure that Scarius is noob town. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is all to happy to throw him under the bus. This includes all the scum. Scum are all to happy to set up a mislynch today to win the game, and there is no one not on scarius' wagon (albeit in addition to mine). I'm fairly certain he's town because of this.

    Quote from Anaklusmos
This is false, and you know it. People are calling you scum because you have been one of the driving forces behind both mislynches, not because you only have been voting townies. This is something you yourself state in the very next paragraph even, so you are trying to misrep peoples arguments against you.

    1. IUD did call me out and say I was only pushing townies, you even directly replied to said post when you defended me on this point. (your post by the way is the one I mentioned earlier but couldn't find) 2. You're arguing semantics. Pushing people and voting people are roughly the same thing. I was the driving force behind those lynches, yes. I was also wrong. When I find someone I think is scum, I'm going to ride them hard because I want them dead, because I think they're scum. So we're back to me voting for the wrong people. Semantics.

Now lets talk about you, scum. Now that I've gone and read back, I've noticed something. You've been on every wagon we've ever had. Anything that looks like it could turn out to be an easy lynch, you've been there, ready to vote. Pinkfloyd, Gigas1, Sir Mu, Scarius and now me. Over the course of 2 posts you even flip flop from defending me to putting me top on your scum list, when it looks like I might be an easy lynch for the day. I'll note you didn't even give the courtesy of explaining your sudden change of heart. For reference:

    Quote from Anaklusmos
So, you have been lurking to get reads on people before you go about things? That I can understand. You have been lurking all game, and have no reads? That doesn't sit as well. I am going to give you some advice, to help you get some reads, people aren't going to come out and claim scum, you have to read more in depth that just surface level or a bit lower. Take notes even, that helps some people greatly.

I don't remember NightArcher doing those things, as he says himself. But even so, it isn't really scummy to push all town. As long as he pushed them with solid, town reasoning, then it just makes him wrong. And there is nothing scummy about being wrong about the people you think are scum. If he was being honest and true, but mislynched every time, that doesn't make him scum.

Also think about it from him being scum. He would never just push all town, because scum pushing scum is a great way to gain townie points.

And why aren't the lurkers a good place to start today? We are in Lylo, can't seem to do anything right at this point. They have lurked so much it makes it really hard to read them. I want to change that, and have them get out here. Are you IUD saying that none of the lurkers are scum?
    Quote from Anaklusmos
This. Also, that doesn't mean that Sir Mu was right just because he was town either. Honestly I gained nothing from him just because he was all over the place, with no apparent rhyme or reason to it.

Guys, IUD is town. Go look back at the game to find out why, but I don't want to spoil it.

So you voted Gigas for...something. Simply because you weren't going to be around? How did you convince yourself that he was scum to the point that you wanted to leave a vote behind, but can't tell us remotely what that scummy thing was? Then your reasoning for Sir Mu was nothing beyond what anyone else said.

Pseudo-vote Scarius (got to be careful with votes in Lylo)
    Quote from Anaklusmos
@Tezzeret IUD won't be counter-claimed, he is the other Mason. Go look at Gigas' wagon. kill-joy and IUD are the only ones alive not on it, and kill-joy voted Gigas earlier in the day. His mason partner would literally never vote him, so IUD has to be the other mason. Simple.

This is false, and you know it. People are calling you scum because you have been one of the driving forces behind both mislynches, not because you only have been voting townies. This is something you yourself state in the very next paragraph even, so you are trying to misrep peoples arguments against you.

Add this onto pinkys arguments against you, which I see as more very good points towards you being scum.

Sorry about the diabetes. That sucks Frown

Other potential candidates are Scarius and kill-joy. Scarius simply because he has lurked so hard that I can't get a read on him, and at this point in the game, someone who has intentionally posted so little that we can't read him is not someone who is town. It's another one of those "No reason to do as town." things. Kill-joy is kind of a gut thing, nothing really specific I can point to, just sometimes I get an 'overly helpful townie' feeling from him.

    In order:
    Nightarcher
    Scarius
    Kill-joy

And since I am at the top of everyone's scum list and we haven't gotten the mass claim off the ground, I'll go ahead and claim first.

My name is NightArcher (duh), and my role is town. There is a lot of flavor about a gathering of friends, an attempt to gain insight, 42 other failed seance attempts, acquiring an ancient grimoire. There's more flavor there but I'm not going to list everything off. I'm vanilla.

My preferred claim list following me would look something like this:

    Anaklusmos
    Kill-joy
    Weeping Willow
    Scarius
    tezzeret12
    pinkys_brian
    IUD already claimed

I suspected WWAB, but I'm going to give WW the benefit of the doubt until he shows up and posts a little more, that's why he's only 3rd on my list.
