the "other guy" is Tzu-Ching Kuo he won the world championship in 2012 with Chinese Taipei. Hes very very good Grin

I think Ive played about 4 leagues with their list now and am far from impressed. The companys just feel so weak, and I really dont seem to gel with the no Medium beats that traditional knightfall offers. I have a day off sometime during the week so ill stream and post my current findings/results then.

I'm sorry but I fail to see how goyf is better than ooze in the current meta, ooze is great vs dredge, storm, snapcaster decks, traverse decks, goyf decks, stops the infinite life combo from abzan and helps handle the 4 eternal witnesses some are running. has relevant text against burn and zoo.

the only matchup I think I would want goyfs is vs ad nauseum as ooze isnt really as fast a clock g1.

I feel like the lack of gavony and tracker really weakens your ability to grind, The synergy in the deck is much better than just having a beater like goyf. you have a threat in kotr. and failing that its not uncommon to just tempo people out with spell queller and exalted triggers.

this is why we play cobra, t3 on the draw. I killed him t4 from 20 life through 2 blockers on t4 with kessig and some cute ghost quarter actions on my own lands.

made another 5-0 today. hopefully my list gets posted this time ^^
(my mtgo list is exactly that. for mtgo. I probably wouldnt be playing the same 75 in paper, just adapting to storm and druid combo online)

our two drops are great? im not sure why people think otherwise. Voice and ooze are both great in this DS format. the only 2 drop im medium on is selfless spirit but it serves a very specific purpose

I feel its positive for Tradional Knightfall, but with the vizier build that Kelvin Chew is playing It felt pretty awful

I couldn't sleep last night, so ran it back and ended up 2-3, losing twice to affinity and once to an old death shadow aggro build, that played every spell in his hand by t3 inc triple mutagenic growth and become immense on a DS.

The affinity matchup even with triple staticaster felt bad. And again I lost a game due to not having a ghost quarter. So thats now in the list.

Agreed on the uw match, that was 100% winnable if i hadnt played so loose. I guess my attitude towards playing in the friendly leagues is a bit washy.

    back online later today.

so stream was interesting to say the least.

I think I learnt alot over that, Firstly that I dont like this initial build of devotion to coralhelm. (ill go over why another time)
Id like to apologise for the lengthy discussion about concessions, one of the viewers had a great point about changing my line because of it being mtgo and that shouldnt make me change the way I play. which I think is correct, I shouldnt be taking sub optimal lines because modo.
But I would also like to defend not conceeding to "infinite life" as my opponent wasnt killing me with it.
I hope that something like that doesnt put off future viewers and that you guys that did join enjoyed the rest of the content.
Discussing openers is very interesting to me.
I thought what would reid duke do in that situation and he wouldnt conceede either. so thats how its gonna be.

Negate seems great in the vizier company matchup, was very impressed with that, good shout.

Ill be streaming again tomorrow. hopefully without the drama.

Alright gang, a friend has lent us the druids and rhonas (thanks for the offer anyways teferi) I will be streaming in approx 30mins.

    Twitch.tv/jetpack_blues

We'll stream a friendly league with bant vizier just to see how it plays and then some comp leagues with both decks (traditional and vizier) over the next 2 days. So grateful for public holidays.
I'll also save videos on the stream for people to watch back over the next month.

Same deal as always, come hang out, tell me cards you wanna test and lets have a blast

I have always considered Abzan Company a pretty poor matchup, they are faster than we are and we only have 4x Path for interaction, in addition to them being a wide creature deck and the board stall favoring them.

I actually really disagree, I think the matchup is favourable, spell queller goes a very long way in these matchups, they have no maindeck removal for it and only a limited amount post board, which is stretced over your knights and ooze. Your fair plan is significantly better than theirs and you have ooze if they go for the finks route.
When playing the fair game, your coursers and knights allow you to outgrind them. You have to be paitent with your removal and only use it when it poses a real threat. If it aint killing you, dont kill it.

hey gang, sorry been afk for a couple weeks. Life gets in the way, and then i pissed away loads of tix thinking i could beat baral in duel commander. turns out that decks obnoxiously good and I wasted alot of time/money playing against it Grin

Trying to get some new equipment sorted so I can stream more often. Its really great to see such positive reactions and support for the little content i did make, especially seeing as though it went so badly Grin So thanks for that! Smile

Im interesteed in your list @bento

I kind of want to try and make some kind of bant vizier build with devoted druid, but at the same time i love the deck exactly as it is ^^

todays league didnt go so well.

    Storm 2-0
    ad naus 2-0
    4c humans (olleR) 0-2
Storm (johnnyhotsauce) 1-2 apparently storm plays apostles blessing main now. (though as always shrout was very nice and we spoke about the matchup and his board plan etc)
    eldrazi taxes 2-0

I was testing clique today, finally got a copy, it was very very good vs adnauseum, but my hand was so strong g2 i think id have won without it.

I noticed some don't have rest in peace in their sideboard.

Likely because it doesnt play well with knight or ooze, both of which are good against most graveyard strategies anyways. :/

had a short break, come straight back from an 8 hour journey home to go 5-0 this evening.

    matchups
    GW devoted company 2-1
    Mardu control 2-0
    BG tron 2-0
WB pox 2-0 (friend from the local game store, who ive been trying to get on bant company, I absolutely destroy him and he can expect some rub ins on wednesday at modern night.)
    Bant eldrazi 2-1

No spicy numbers today but have extra hate for storm in my board. Proceed to only play fair(ish) matchups where I think I excel as a player.

    EDIT
I will be streaming again tomorrow night sometime, likely around 9pm CET (have my legacy league match at 8pm so streaming moved to 9)

both the storm and ad nauseum decks are over represented online, they may not be necessary for paper magic.

I mean ive probably played the matchup 30+ times in the last month. Almost every opponent has bought in anger of the gods.
