There are decks that are very fragile. Said decks are usually built around combos and if molested they will start toppling over. As the opponent in the OP could have been really hinging on that Thran Dynamo to actually come online and the OP stealing that rock really put a wrench in their plans.
But if you remove my few win conditions, all I merely can do is turn the game into a slog as I now seek to throw a wrench into every players plans. Yeah because that is what people want me doing now, instead of trying to win I'm kingmaking another player now and we all know how kingmaking has a bit of a negative reputation in the commander community.
Was the person's behavior a little uncalled for in the OP, yes. But the vibe i get from this thread of "Oh how these fast quitters man, we try to talk them to continue, but they just up and quit man."
I do appreciate Amonkhet, Ravnica, Kaladesh, Theros, etc. They are all interesting worlds, but I would appreciate some generic fantasy, even as a solitary set or product once in awhile. Which is why a Return to Dominaria would be perfect. Its basically a plane teeming with that sort of flavor. Even Ajani is like "Lets regroup on Dominaria" to the Gatewatch in the story article of Aether Revolt called "Renewal". Even Dominaria, which was once an apocalyptic wasteland by the way, has now healed up.
Shapeshifter is very plausible although I'm finding it hard to imagine a better commander for them than Lazav. Hexproof is one of the best things you can do in the game.
I've been waiting for Ooze and Shapeshifter/Clone lords forever, although I would say that I don't think they should be focused in this years product.
At this point, its any tribe's game seeing as we have no concrete evidence yet. So I will keep my expectations neutral until actual information is given out about it.
I'm calling a 5 color shapeshifter tribal deck. With changeling keywords. For a tribal deck that cares about being tribal. Tribal!
Even as a single legendary itself it could make a lot of normally unusual tribes actually work together. Although it might also make more homogeneous decks when the "ceiling" is found for how well it can be built.
Wouldn't Zulaport Cutthroat be more advantageous than Blood Artist in a multiplayer setting since it doesn't target and it hits each opponent per trigger?
Leovold is not too shocking. Protean being unbanned is quite a surprise. I personally hope it is like Kokusho in that its powerful but not outright broken.
As I would quit too, letting you keep the rocks of course. As my Kambal, Consul of Allocation deck seeks to cast Approach of the Second Sun via tutors like Demonic Tutor, card draw like Necropotence, targeted draws like Demonic Consultation, mana rocks like Orzhov Cluestone and Gauntlet of Power, wrath the board via Damnation or Merciless Eviction. I have a few ways to recover it like with a Junktroller or Pull from Eternity and I have a few other win conditions like an Exsanguinate and some other tricks.

Welcome to the other side of that coin.

That is what I imagine being in something that calls itself "Iconic Masters".
