The matter that it sacs two lands? The old version actually being more vulnerable and causing a potentially bigger blowout from an opponent's stone rain. Also we are in a world where things like Ramunap Excavator and Crucible of Worlds and Lord Windgrace exist now, something Lotus Vale and Scorched Ruins would have greatly desired.
Insanely strong planeswalker. This on turn 3 is a major threat for most decks. The only "problem" is that there is an arguably better card - Teferi, Time Raveler - at the same CMC, and which conveniently is a great answer to a turn 3 Yianling.
Ok please help me understand what i'm missing that makes you think that this is a powerful walker??? I even forgot about teferi which is leagues better than this card.
Well for starters you stated her +2 ability "does nothing" when that is factually wrong. A creature that gets -2/-0 AND loses flying until your next turn means its now ground-stalled and may have 0 effective power.
Her having 2 loyalty isn't bad when you consider that her +2 makes her immediately have 4 loyalty. By your logic, Liliana of the Veil is trash because she only has 4 loyalty after using her +1 for the same mana cost.
Teferi isn't leagues better, because he fulfills a different purpose. Its such a bad comparison you might as well have tried to compare Jace, the Mind Sculptor to Dack Fayden.
Her being only able to + the first time, with no assistance from other cards by the way, shows a power limiter set in place for her.
Turn 2: Grateful Apparition / Thrummingbird
Turn 3: Sky Dancer, swing, proliferate Sky Dancer, +2, now at 5 loyalty
Turn 4: Swing, proliferate Sky Dancer, +2, now at 8 loyalty.
Turn 5: Ult.
Oh and turn 4 or 5 leaves mana open for something like a Teferi in there which just so happens to be in the same colors as Grateful and Sky Dancer.
You merely analyze this version of Mu Yanling in a vacuum which shows you don't take into consideration the actual board state. But that is why you chose the name noobking for yourself, right?
Just 1 life away from proccing Resplendent Angel right on the fly.
But Ajani's Welcome / Fountain of Renewal / Healer's Hawk solve that "issue".
EDIT: from the translations it doesn't say "non-token" so... If you manage to proc Resplendent Angel, that is a +9 life (at least) in a single turn.
Nice to see that they are trying to make angel-tribal a thing. Or at least angel matters.
Don't forget Angel of Vitality which is also in the same set and turns that 4 into a 5.
I guess you could Autumn's Veil now as 5-8 for your Veil of Summer when it comes to fighting blue and black cards. Also, holy moly they brought back color hate! Its like a christmas morning.
Also works well with Leyline of Sanctity because, while yes you won't get the trigger for them targeting you, this does give you a way to semi-protect your permanents.
Murder of Crows: Loot while you generate mana and tokens. Also its a bird, so possible bird synergy. Mizzix of the Izmagnus: Get her to 4 experience counters and you can pretty much reuse any buyback card. Searing Touch: As long as you can effectively reduce the buyback to 0, it goes infinite with Kykar.
Ya know, maybe its just me, but I'm getting the distinct impression this whole thing for Chandra is meant to be a soft reboot of her character. Like so far with just Chandra, Novice Pyromancer, Chandra, Acolyte of Flame, Chandra, Awakened Inferno, Chandra's Spitfire (reprint), Cavalier of Flame, Chandra's Regulator, Chandra's Embercat. Its all just added so much more to her character than over a decade of material has beforehand. Like sure, she has had elemental creatures made of fire/lava/magma beforehand that isn't a new thing but the fact that her own planeswalker cards specifically interact with the elemental creatures in a benefical way is something very unique that we honestly haven't seen before with her.
I'm guessing someone higher up told them they needed to give her some more personality with her magic so she doesn't just come across as generic fire mage when trying to market her.
From what I listened to the audio book and taking notes, there is only one story they essentially setup with Liliana post-war, 'Pursued by Bounty Hunters'. That is unless they write something that doesn't factor in the book's elements which wouldn't be expected.
And yet its only banned in commander, specifically multiplayer commander. Apparently vintage, 93/94 magic, and duel commander have no problem with it and keep it restricted (1-of). I even remember when it was in standard, both against it and with it.
By this logic we should unban Emrakul, Griselbrand, prime titan and likely half of the banlist
No, those are foolish unbannings. Also: Association Fallacy, Either-Or-Fallacy, Non-Sequitur (Formal Fallacy).
Preaching to the choir over here. I would like to see Balance unbanned as well as its actually a very fair card...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
"fair card"
Yeah, it's not. Like, not at all.

Land destruction only gets its flak from when used incorrectly, but people tend to overlook the times ramp gets used incorrectly when there are better plays. Mostly because there isn't the same emotional response of a bad ramp play unlike the kind of emotional response that a bad MLD play causes.
lol idk what this sentence is supposed to mean. Ramp alone doesn't harm other played. If you "misramped" and now have 2 more lands then me, my gameplan can virtually proceed unchanged. If you play a bad timed MLD, i won't be able to do anything for 2-3 turns.
Trying to make just an emotional thing is hiding part of the truth. MLD interacts with the opponent resources and prevent or seriously limit them from playing. That's a big gameplay difference and that's what causes the "emotional response"

She isn't trash because she isn't Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded who is the King of Trash.
