I was hopeful for sphere in the side at first. But after play testing I agree, we simply don't need it. Would rather have a sideboard card with more applications. But I do think against Tron and combo you have to be somewhat aggressive with mulligans to find your beater or lock. Or preferably both lol. And thank you to everyone on this forum and streamers. Checking in on everything has now become part of my daily routine. I enjoy every bit of it.
I have also been pleased with chainwhirler. The first strike is relevant vs creature match ups as Ray suggested. Abrade an angler, block with first strike chainwhirler. It happened to me more than a few times. If whirlir had haste it would be busted lol. I have had a few issues with our gemstone and him being 3R. But not super often. I was running 1 side and 1 main. But 2 in the main seems correct.
Ufta $500?! That's a little steep for my blood lol. Maybe I'll slowly buy into it. And I would definitely get the eidolons. I've been rocking 3 eidolon in the main with decent results. I enjoy the extra SB slots. I used to not agree with damping sphere. But now with magus not in the deck I think 1-2 sphere is where you wanna be.
I have been trying goblin chainwhirler in the side and main. I kind of like him. Probably fits better in the side though. Decent to bring in against elves. Young P, souls. It helps our Mardu match a little.
How much does this deck cost roughly online? I have it in paper for a few months but with my work schedule it's hard to make it to lgs. A few 3-1 records but got my first 4-0 this past Friday. Last oppenent playing titan shift. Turn 1 Blood Moon ended game 3.he was a salty sailor for sure lol. Does anyone else get annoyed when people/oppenent call the deck "free red wins". lol its so much than "free red wins"
Has any1 seen that bomat burn deck floating around. Uses main deck eidolon, harsh mentor, and rampaging ferocidon. I see people talking about ferocidon in Pyro prison, but could harsh mentor fit the bill as well? As a way to just keep doing incremental damage.
Young P Is used in the grindy matches usually. And when you expect graveyard hate. Swap out an angler with a young pyro. In the mirror it's nice, especially against opposing lilianas. Sacrificeing a token is better than sacrificing a shadow.
Saw Pyro prison made another 5-0 mtgo league. Rocking scab clan baserker instead of eidolon in the side. Was it any1 from the forum? I forget who also advocated for scab clan in the side.
Lol I've actually been texting 3 goblin pile driver and 2 siege gang in the side. Surlsingly.. It ain't bad lol. Pile driver followed by rabble is a lot of damage if unanswered. And as ya'll know.. Everybody is confused by this deck game 1 and sides out removal game 2. I wish this deck had more flex spots lol
Another reason I run bauble is it enables a lot more turn 2 anglers. Sometimes even with stub up. And the games we need to be fast and go under, it's helpful. I run 4 bauble, 4 wraith, 4 scour. No serum or opt. Used to run opt (which I think is better than serum in this deck) but I think bauble being a free "opt" is just better. I will admit sometimes getting the card during their upkeep is a bummer
It was a ways down the page his account was "oceanman94"
