Don't shy away from Sigarda. She is a beast! She's probably my strongest EDH deck and I didn't invest heavily in her at all. Tick her up to 7 and start the clock. I went the aura route but I've seen solid equipment based strategies.
If you're determined to have blue, I'd say either Rafiq of the Many or Jenara, Asura of War
You'll just have to rely on Aura's/equip to get your Hexproof/shroud game going.
My name is Kassill and I'm a semi-long time player. My first cards were a zendikar era pre-constructed (mono red) and I used to play against my step brothers green stompy stuff. I got pulled back in a while later just before Theros dropped and have been a pretty avid player. Mostly kitchen magic with a few friends, but have delved more into the competitive play lately with our new store (small no name town).
I consider myself a fairly casual player with my favorite format being EDH. I have played a bit of standard with mixed success and failure and dabbled in modern. My current goals are to play more EDH regularly as my initial group doesnt seem to care that much anymore. I'd also like to at least get one decent modern deck, bought and built, to dabble on friday nights from time to time.
For Commander, I currently have Queen Marchesa and Sigarda, Host of Herons. I did have the OG Marchesa, the Black Rose but fell for the new hotness and built a politics deck. Sigarda is simply beat face with my favorite angel.
Colors, I'm pretty fond of them all. Izzet is my go to guild so that's probably a good place to start.
Not hobby related, I play a lot of table top and board games and enjoy the nerdy side of life, be it books or movies, etc. Tolkien aficionado, Slytherin, and metal head sum me up fairly well.
