  • posted a message on Crankertrainer Format: A format destined to become sanctioned!
Crankertrainer is a groundbreaking format I've crafted, designed to inject fresh excitement into Magic: The Gathering gameplay by tweaking just five key rules. Inspired by the Pokémon TCG's 'Prizes,' Crankertrainer offers a dynamic experience destined to become the premier tournament format.

Here's how Crankertrainer shakes up the game:

    1. Life Cards: Players start by placing 20 cards face down from their Library into their Life Cards pile, representing their Life total. Damage is dealt directly to these cards.

    2. Life Gain: Say goodbye to Life Gain cards—they're banned in Crankertrainer.

    3. Life Loss: When Life is lost, players draw that many cards from their Life Cards pile and may play them as usual.

    4. Milling: Milling effects target only their usual targets, leaving Life Cards untouched.

    5. Win Condition: The game ends when a player runs out of Life Cards. All other win/loss conditions remain unchanged.

    6. Hand Size: Enjoy unlimited hand size in Crankertrainer.

By embracing these simple adjustments, players can dive into a thrilling new dimension of Magic: The Gathering gameplay. Let's make Crankertrainer the next big thing in Magic tournaments!

This is my own constructed format, which I call Juleokin. I will paste my rules that I wrote on another website. Please let me know if you would play this format or what you would like to see. Also hit me up with any questions. Poison counters still count toward winning or losing.

    Repost:

    Costs

To play a card's Mana cost, all you need is to have the right amount of Basic Lands. You won't need to tap Lands for Mana(unless as an effect or tap symbol), as all Basic Lands that produce Mana cover the costs just for being on the field(as long as they are the right color).

    Damage

Numerical damage from Attacks or card effects that are directed at Life are instead dealt to the Library, rather than Life. The Library is both your deck and amount of Life. To deal damage to the Life-Library, put the numerical amount of damage from the top of the Life-Library into your Graveyard. All decks must contain exactly 60 cards(no more and no less).

In place of gaining numerical Life, a Lifegain effect would put the top cards in your Graveyard on top of your Life-Library.

    Winning

To win, you must still have cards in your Life-Library the instant your opponent runs out of cards to draw from their Life-Library(you win), otherwise you lose the instant you run out of cards to draw from your Life-Library before your opponent does(you lose). Also, all special winning conditions from card effects still stay in effect, as long as they adhere to the Juleokin Format rules.

    Everything Else

Every other rule that isn't changed by the Juleokin Format stays the same for all tournament formats. This Format is meant to be competitive and adhere to the official banlists for each(but independent to) official tournament formats.

    Name: Eldorado

    Type: Legendary Land

Effect: All of your opponent's basic lands become all basic land types.

Pay 1 Life: Tap 1 of your opponent's basic lands in place of 1 of your own lands when playing your own spells.
