Not quite sure where the race swap assumption comes from - if you're assuming she's Thran, the Thran are/were humans, and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician was one of them. At any rate, she's held to be one of Jodah, Archmage Eternal's ancestors (Jodah apparently also being descended from one of Urza or Mishra through Kayla's son), and Jodah is talked about as being 100% human.
If her skin tone is inconsistent...yeah, blame a style guide changing somewhere.

I agree with the quality of story complaints. I do care about the story though. If I'm being honest, I liked when the creative team did the stories every week. They were fun reads and the perfect size to be digestable. Just a shame we aren't even getting that this time . . .
There's no need to be a dick about it is all I'm saying. Turning away prospective forum-goers because they enjoy cards and want to talk about them and maybe skim the rules the first time around? No. That's always bothered me about this forum. How people get so snappy and demanding over new people.
If I had to guess, I'd assume "Gatewatch" was realistically a name who's rights where about to expire much like the rushed use of "Dragon's Maze." Hell, I think "The Consortium" was a better name for an interplanar group of planeswalkers. The name aside, I do like the Jacetus League in all their glory. I also agree that it's hard to get super invested in the Kaladesh crisis- . . . conflict- . . . Dilemma? There was an escalation creep in the last two blocks of a multiverse spanning menace. I suppose it's to be expected.
It seems really cut and dry to me. Emrakul is the Eldritch moon. Jace and Tamiyo pleaded with Sorin for the safety of the plane, not to kill Avacyn. With her gone Emrakul is ready to descend upon the plane. Being the titan of corruption I'm sure her influence could more than corrupt the angels and Avacyn. Perhaps even Nahiri in the first place. Though if Emrakul can corrupt planeswalkers I'd say the team is pretty boned. Provided they don't leave this on a cliffhanger, I could see Sorin maybe sacrificing himself to destroy Emrakul. That would be kind of cool as redemption or whatever. Idk. As for Liliana's involvement; The veil is supposed to be the a vessel for the Resurrection of a long dead race right? Maybe that ties in somehow.
