No idea what the card does, but it looks like he's taking up the challenge
Which means he either wants to die, he just wants to deceive Bolas somehow or he isn't aware that the fifth trial will lead to his death...
I'm guessing all the Gatewatch knows about it, and he volunteered to do it because of the indestructibility thing.
That's why I'm not at all invested in him. Nothing will kill him since he is indestructable.
Are you one of those who thinks the supermillionaire apex "human" is more relatable than the farmer boy from Smallvile, Kansas?
Watch/read Luke Cage either way, there's a million ways to make an unkillable hero lose hard.
Thanks.
Their side event table:
4-0-0 (12 Match Points) – 500 Prize Tix
3-0-1 (10 Match Points) – 350 Prize Tix
3-1-0 (9 Match Points) – 200 Prize Tix
2-1-1 or 2-0-2 (7-8 Match Points) – 110 Prize Tix
2-2-0 (6 Match Points) – 20 Prize Tix
Made me a bit suspicious since it's the first time I saw so many tiple digit prize payouts since the table for the local company that used to run our GPs went from 4 to 120 but each ticket was exactly equal to a dollar and the prices of stuff were close to what you mention of SCG.
Well I guess I won't have much temptation to force myself to play every single event (Legacy at 11am? Don't they realize the people who can afford Legacy are either working or pass out party drunk at 10am FRI & SAT?), and WotC wonders why event attendance dwindles.
I wonder if this story will be a "supposedly good characters screw up the place more than the supposedly evil character does, but it is for the greater good"
Kaladesh was pretty much "Peaceful conflict resolution as told by ISIS".
But hey, "self-righteous drones show up to destabilize your society and blame you for the smoldering crater they left behind" would fit perfectly with a 4th of July HOD pre-release.
For anyone who has gone to a CFB GP, what's the usual value of a ticket in their prize table? How much do currently-in-print boosters or sealed decks go for? And what if any premuim stuff do they offer?
I've been playing this in paper with an 85% established meta, Falkenrath Noble is a qt and breaks stalemates better than Witches. Shriveling Goblins or Weenie/Sisters while he's out if just vulgar.
Since Affinity is popular at my LGS and that means everyone who can is packing Disenchant/Naturalize I dropped Oubliette for Duress and have been doing better. Yes, Gary hits a little softer but now almost all my removal is instant speed and the thing I wanted gone is less likely to return.
I do agree the deck feels a little slower than before, nowadays everyone is getting more stupid threats by the day and we haven't been thrown a good control bone since Innistrad. Let's hope Amonkhet staples Cruel Edict to a 2/X for 1BB or something.
The reason we have Gideons who repeatedly turn into creatures is because no one wants a retread of the Liliana of the Dark Realms scenario.
Speak for yourself. Swamp ramp and rituals are exactly what I want from a mono-black planeswalker.
As for this Liliana, she better start at 6 loyalty or it'll be the absolute worst PW deck face card so far.
For their specific regions, have any of the CCGs changed their card backs during the life of the CCG? Even Nintendo kept the same card back on their U.S. Pokemon cards after WotC no longer printed them. I recall LotR (?) changed their backs but the new version was incompatible with the old anyways. Anyone else? Keep in mind, I'm not asking about different regions with their different backs.
Mitos y Leyendas changed the card back and the company went down three years later after 13 years of steady growth.
Anyway, it really seems people from Duel Commander still want to cling onto their format and keep the community divided.
I sure as hell don't want to play "Zur or lose" Commander again. That's not us "clinging onto keeping the community divided", it's not wanting your favorite format ruined again.
The ball is on WotC's court and it's gonna be all about the banlist.
As much as I don't enjoy playing against Zurgo and Vial/Kraum in DC, I'm not looking forward to having to see Darevi, Zur, Augustin, Narset, Jace, Oloro and Tasigur on the other side of the table at 30lp again.
Guess it also means my Beta Balance is going back to the "never gets to see play" binder.
With the rise in popularity of Frontier I've noticed all the claims about how it's a brewers paradise...
That has nothing to do with the avaliable card pool and all to do with it not being a real format. If it became a sanctioned format with any PT or WMC presence it would be solved within two weeks and everyone would be netdecking or losing to optimal lists.
If you want a format where you can actually brew a deck to consistently beat 2/3 of the top decks, you're looking for Legacy. A Legacy variant with all RL cards banned would be the real brewer's paradise.
I'll probably actually buy this -, sorry bandwagon crew! I don't have a Jhoira yet, so a foil will be nice. I do like the new artwork. Coat of Arms is something I've wanted for EDH but haven't bought due to the price. Lots of goodies here for various projects I don't have yet Don't care about playing them against each other so not really a consideration.
I'm buying it myself, just I find this deck illustrates how bad it is for wizards designers who are getting hamstrung by card popularity.
4chan designed a better Heroes vs monsters on the go with the same EV, the same face and preview cards, at random, for the lulz.
Turns out all it takes is thinking up cards other than Kamahl, Pit Fighter again.

Men can't just be friends in tumblrland.
Which is ridiculously sexist, ironically.

You cannot reap strong fruits from weak seeds.

Never played Affinity or Infect vs Burn if you think Burn can't be a control deck.
