Jul 12, 2010pet snake posted a message on Lurking is such a painI see...Thanks I might just stick with real life drafting in that case. Online is fun but if I'm gunna pay I'd rather have it in paper. Better for trading and price values, ya know. But yeah. I might try sticking it out with Avy/sig maybe just doing side work.Posted in: Pet Snakes Corner

But yeah, thanks guys. Were slowly saving up to get our stuff back. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
Current Considerations:
Looking at swapping Pristine Talisman for a Basalt Monolith.
I'll add in Goblin Diplomats during the next update.
Cuts:
Felhide Spiritbinder
Words of War
Possible Adds:
Humble Defector
Seismic Assault
Shard Phoenix
Siege-Gang Commander
Inferno Titan
Worth Looking at?
Tyrant's Familiar
Stalking Vengeance
However, no matter what you go don't forget that changelings work in all tribes.
Edit, to answer the actual question you asked: Spirits work fine, but I've only usually seen Karador at the helm. I think either way you go it'll be fun to pilot.
Giving her a 1 Loyalty starting would probably be a bit more balanced.
@Craft Off Summer 2016, Remember the deadline is at the End of July. If you would like a deadline extension, please just let us know before then!
I'm still working on my alters, I gotta come up with some more "Horror" themed ones, because I only really have maybe one? Maybe I'll still try my hand at the short story I wanted to do. But I have no real clue on how to build suspense or write a good horror.
As far as removal goes: Brittle Effigy is pretty nice. I tend to run that or Unstable Obelisk in mono colored decks that have low removal options. Burn Away adds in nice utility to help stop graveyard strategies. Also don't forget that your X spells also target creatures, and while it sucks not to just chuck 40 damage at their face, sometimes just removing a creature is good too.
(Edited to suggest better cards, because I'm a good player who can suggest good cards. )
I guess in the end you can ignore my cut suggestions, sorry that I was basically not helpful at all.
What does ntby mean? I couldn't figure it out as well.
I'd personally look at doing something like this:
1 Devoted Druid
1 Civic Wayfinder
1 Silhana Starfletcher
1 Mul Daya Channelers
1 Greenweaver Druid
1 Copperhorn Scout
1 Viridian Shaman
1 Sylvan Messenger
1 Harmonize
1 Sword of the Paruns
1 Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen
1 Drove of Elves
1 Riftsweeper
1 Fauna Shaman
1 Keeper of Progenitus
1 Realm Seekers
1 Aftershock
1 Predator, Flagship
1 Kessig Wolf Run
1 Kher Keep
1 Naya Panorama
1 Jund Panorama
1 Rogue's Passage
The cuts are generally for just being underwelming or I think the slots could be used better. That's all I have to say about them basically.
I understand about being on a budget. I dropped 30$ to complete my Kazuul deck (bought my final 20 cards I needed) after of attempting to build it for around a year.
That being said, with the exception of Fauna Shaman most of these are under 1-2$. Kessig Wolf Run is like 2$ exactly and it could be an insane finisher as well.
I like Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen in the lifegain slot since it doubles as a lord.
Drove of Elves and Realm Seekers double as insane threats that could become really difficult to deal with.
Kher Keep while off theme, is super good with Skullclamp and since you have a decent amount of lords in the deck, your elves get above the 1 toughness needed to use skullclamp as a draw engine. The other option you have is Springjack Pasture, but I think Kher Keep is just better and reads as "{4}: Draw Two Cards", Instead of "{6}: Draw Two Cards". Then again, Springjack could be a good source of life/mana so I think it's up to you. But I think either are good enough to include for the sake of Skullclamp alone.
I'm sure there's other stuff I'd do but thats just after a few quick searches and such.
If everyone is good on it. I'd like to kick off the craft-off officially tomorrow. I'll post confirmed entry deadline and rules restriction then.
Past that, I need to remember to somehow force my way back into squad obsidian later.
So I worked on creating something similar but with a bit more theme on Kazuul's ability and it resulted in a somewhat similar deck that had cut out on the few more expensive pieces (After all, his list was was made just under 5 years ago so prices have fluctuated). A few more iterations later and the deck has turned into this.

This is now Updated (As of 28 June 2016) to reflect my current decklist. I have a couple of cards I would like to collect such as Purphoros, God of the Forge, but until I am able to this is my current list. It adapts well into most pods from what I have tested and it can adapt into a multitude of gameplay styles. It has been incredibly fun to pilot and figure out all the fun interactions and I'm looking forward to playing it extensively over the next couple months. I play about every Thursday, so I'll try to report back then!
I like the fact of general value you can get off of it and part of me wants to use to to power out an insanely dumb Bane of Progress . In all reality, it'll probably get cut after the first month or so, but I'm still interested enough to open a slot for it.

I'm picking up Congregation at Dawn next Thursday. I reserved it at my LGS, just had to get paid before I was able to pick it up.
Also yes, I know I need a Spore Frog and about a dozen other cards, I just don't have the ability to pick them..
@Palanar, It's been going every other week. This is mostly everyone's first time so they're taking it slow. I've been helping them out. The help stops after next session (Assuming they finally kill the boss or escape the mansion) though. I'll give them warning but I want them to not become reliant on me saying "Hey does anyone wanna do X?" Once they fell through the first trapdoor they've been checking for traps on every door. I regret asking one of them to roll for Arcane because for an entire session all they kept asking was "Hey can I Roll Arcane on this door?" "Hey Can I Roll Arcane to look at the skeleton?". Took an entire session of me telling them to just say "Hey I wanna see if I know anything about this skeleton" before they got it. Next session SHOULD be this Sunday assuming no hitches are found. I'm pretty excited for it and I've been focusing on just creating the area around their hub town for now and just adding in tidbits of info about the rest of the world as I think it. I'm starting to give the player a sticky note or two with relevant race or history info as it pertains to their character.
@Sharpy, I'm not too sure on the return of Alv. Haven't been keeping up with the thread recently and I'm always afraid to jump back in because I know my history of disappearing.
@Craft Off, So far we have this:
Welcome Ghosts and Ghoulies!
[The Crafters] would like to invite you to a craft off. This is your time to shine up your creative
skills and show off what you got! It doesn't take much and you've got plenty of time to think of something
and show off your submission in our thread. This is all in an active pursuit of fun and just trying to get
those creative juices flowing.
Rules:
2. It must pertain to the theme in some way or another (Theme: Horror)
3. When submitting your post please head it with a bold "Horror Craft Off Submission" at the top so it's
easier to find later!
4. Any medium is allowed, from writing to painting to free form poetry to webdesign and anything in between!
5. Have fun (But only if you want to, I guess).
If you have any questions comments or concerns feel free to bring the discussion over to our clan! We'll see you
at the Craft Off!
@Crafting in general, I'm starting to work on an alter for a card. Someone found my Thoughtpicker Witch in my deck and sharpied a smiley face on hers saying that she was ugly. He then proceeded to sharpie the flavor text until all that was left was "Get the Brains nice and Pickled.". So I'm starting to mock up a new picture for the artwork and then I'll attempt my first text rewrite on the flavor text. Should be exciting but it'll be a while until I can afford my paints and brushes to actually alter the card. I might ask my roommate if he wants any alters while I'm at it.
I feel like I'm too active. How will I maintain my clan lurker status with all this posting I'm doing?
Besides deadlines, we also have rules to discuss? I'm thinking there doesn't need to be much besides "Whatever you craft has to be submitted by deadline" and "Craft-Off submissions can be any medium you choose". Open for debate of coarse though.
