I love me fire gawd. But it jus doesnt quite cut it in a competitive environment. So im jus wondering out loud what sort of new cards would it take to make firegawd.deck a reality. Any ideas?
I find it hard to collect anything beyond 4 in a game like magic, but I do have a bunch of Trained Orggs, Wind Drakes, and Giant Octopus(pi?)
That was me a year back... now i have over 20 vengevines... 10 geists of saint traft. And 11 dark depths. Once ur hooked it bites deep man... really burning my pockets though...
Im collecting vengevines! Used to collect death shadows and had over a hundred of them. Then I sold them when the price went up cos I realized they never really that much appealed to me... am wondering if I should continue collecting vengevines cos they are kindda pricey still and I have 24 atm... should I switch to collecting Geist of Saint Traft instead? They seem to be rarer and harder to find, which makes collecting them more fun... but they also cost more... sigh... help...
I find this deck is about the most vile deck to face I have ever seen in Modern. It is certainly beatable, that is not the issue, it is the fact that the wincon takes so long to kill you that last time I faced it online I sat around and for 23 minutes (chess clock, MTGO) waiting for my opponent to try and win. You might ask why I did not just concede, and there are two reasons:
1) Decks that seek to win by making their opponent concede are really the crappiest way of abusing your opponent and the game.
2) My opponent did not win. They timed out and I won, then complained to me that I was being a jerk by not conceding.
It is also not a deck that really needs a thread. It is a deck that any MTG player who has played more than a few years has made by themselves without any outside inspiration, so there seems to be little new to bring to the table.
I wouldn't say that cos until recently this deck could not have been made. There simply were not enough "time warp" effects that could curve out effectively. Beacon of Tomorrows costs 8 and screws with you by shuffling itself back in. It sort of needed Temporal Mastery to be complete.
Your opp was either being a jerk or just plain lousy. This deck takes 7 minutes tops to win once it combos out... well unless u have one of the big eldrazis in your deck then it would take much longer... in which case he should board in laboratory manic and win in 5 minutes anyway. it fact it shouldn't even take that long if you know your plan.
In other news, i concluded that the best sideboard against infect would be spellskite as someone mentioned as well as chalice of the void
I cant seem to find the mono U time warp deck here. Was hoping I could consult a primer or something but it seems like no one put one up. Any ideas? It wins by milling your Op after like taking tonnes of extra turns I think.
Thanks for sharing! This is definitely real! The art is 100 percent legit, consistent both with mtg fluff and kev walker's style of heavy shadows.

If you think about it, losing a $40-$50 isn't a huge deal when you compare it to other life problems.
Compare it to say.. a sports injury where you spend at least $100 on a physician(and that's just if he says it'll heal on it's own), and have reduced mobility for a few months, it doesn't seem that bad.
I know where you're coming from, and I do admit that I am dwelling on this more than I should. But I'm just so disappointed with myself, and it was in some sense a favor from a friend. So it feels like i wasted his good will too. Sigh. Seriously I broke my leg a few times, hurt my hand for a few months, didnt feel nearly as bad as this...
The first batch was stolen. Revised had just been released, I was a bit of a noob and showing off my collection (in a shoebox at that), and found out later than several duals were missing.
The second batch.... The less I think about it, the better because it makes me angry and I don't like being angry at the person likely responsible. I keep my cards in 2 water proof boxes under my bed -- one with vintage/eternal staples, the other fluff I couldn't get rid of. One day prior to a tournament I wanted to find cards to build an oath of druids deck... and couldn't find the vintage staples box. There were only 3 of us in the house -- me, my mom, and my sister. Unfortunately.... my mother has a tendency to misplace things. All. The. Time. And she has no respect for hidden stuff (for example, to my shock and horror my passport, visa, birth certifacte, etc disappeared from the locked suitcase in my room; she took it without telling me, then forgot where she placed it, then asked me to look for it when the time came to renew them). She says she "cleaning", but sometimes just throws away stuff. Good thing my black lotus and time vault were with teammates.
Thanks for sharing... and everyone else too. Sigh. for me its not the money, its how disappointed I am in myself, my book keeping isnt excellent, but I always find my stuff. This is the first time something just vanished, I spent 5 hours last night just digging through... everything. Sigh. I hope something helps me get over this. Im really tempted to just sell everything now, I feel so unworthy of this hobby when I cant even keep cards.
