I scavenged a consuming aberration from my Yidris precon and he was a beast in the first game I played. Combined with a kicked RoR he got really huge real fast. I didn't even get to eat him with mimeo, but he's even better in that case. I know for sure I'm not going to use ulamog since he's a little out of budget, but I own a kozilek. I hadn't even thought of him but he seems insane now that I think about it. Pitching reanimation fodder while countering spells seems pretty good. The only problem is that I don't have much colorless mana in the deck so he's only useful as a reanimation target.

My meta is very casual. A lot of my decks have at least one game ending combo but I don't use a lot of tutors so they're usually not the main win condition and only used to end a long game. I think most other people's decks are similar power level.

Yes, very cheap. My main problem is that I've only been playing edh for about 2 years now so I'm constantly running into new cards I've never seen before. Because of that, I sometimes have trouble thinking about what would go well in a deck.

Hello everyone! I just got commander anthology 2 today and decided to upgrade the Mimeoplasm from it. I know for sure i don't want to go combo with it, and I think i want to do a reanimator deck that can use my opponent's graveyards as well as mine. If i did it this way i would likely also have a clone subtheme too. I'll probably be picking up at least a putrefax for the silver bullet agaist lifegain decks, but are there any other cheap (money wise) reanimator targets/effects that I could pick up for under $5? The more they synergise with Mimeo the better.

I had a game recently that i thought fit here. I was playing mizzix (pretty much just the precon with a few additions like past in flames. God that card is good) against saskia, atraxa, and k and t of meletis. The game starts and i get mana screwed with a thought vessel on board. the atraxa player already had master biomancer in play and had rystic studies out for the last few turns. Saskia player decides to blow up the group hug's mana rock and my thought vessel with sylvan reclamation, which kept me from playing the game since it was one of my only sources of mana. Everyone, including the atraxa player, told him he should have blown up studies but he didn't care. he also wasn't paying for it at all. Anyway, fast forward a few turns. group hug killed the atraxa player with reins of power Saskia has attacked me every turn and i've just managed to stay alive with spells (i now have mana) even thought hugs is now the threat. I end up using a reins of my own to play kingmaker and kill saskia and was a few mana short of killing hugs too. He preceeds to complain constantly about how i targeted him all game. I try to tell him that's what happens when you keep someone from playing then kick them while they're down. but he was having none of it.

I'm still in the process of making my norin deck. it is mostly finished thought, apart from few cards. I was just curious about some things. Why outrage shaman over FTK? the kavu not only has 2 more power but in most situations the deck has run into so far, the shaman actually does less damage as well due to not having enough devotion. Secondly, is vicious shadows a good enough budget option for the deck or did gaka take it out because it's too bad?
Outrage Shaman can be tutored by a few things because it's a Goblin and by it's power if one runs Imperial Recruiter (if you're running a goblin package in your Norin deck). I run neither Outrage Shaman nor Flametongue Kavu, by the way.

Vicious Shadows isn't bad, even in this deck. It's probably better in a Feldon or Alesha deck, though. This is more of an ETB deck and doesn't have much synergy with it. This and its higher cost make it a little harder to slot in when there are better options. But in a budget build those options might not be available. If it works for you, it works.
I also just thought of gratuitous violence in this deck. it's 2 less than shadows and it works really well with purph, outrage shaman, siege gang, mom and dad nalaar, pandemonium effects, and the swarms of tokens you generate
