How does this deck go against other control decks (Esper/Grixis) or Superfriends? I've been thinking about switching from Esper to UB (mana keeps getting me) but Teferi keeps calling out to me.
Is there any reason not to play 1 or 2 more utility lands like Blast Zone? Or Arch of Orazca even
Very interesting deck. I thought I was the only one playing Mardu Control. I figured it's decent against aggro decks with heaps of removal and good against Superfriends deck (Bedevil, Angrath's Rampage). My list is different from yours in that mine is more control-oriented and yours seems more Planeswalker or tap-out oriented. Now that you mention it, Sarkhan would be a really interesting addition. Here's my list, not perfect because I don't have all the cards I am after yet
Been thinking of trying this deck. Has anything changed since the release of War of the Spark? Is there anything from Modern Horizons that this deck will instantly slot in? Kaya's Guile seems to be an obvious one but not sure on how many copies.
Has anyone else been thinking what cards from Dominaria will fit into this archetype?
I've put 3x Dark Bargain, 2x Cast Down and 2x Seal Away into my list. Contemplating 1x Lyra Dawnbringer in the sideboard but will need to see how the meta shapes up. Isolated Chapel will definitely help with colours early in the game, I found that I had the wrong basics a few times in the early game.
RG Monsters (2-0) - easy matchup, didn't have much trouble
GB Constrictor (2-0) - didn't have any troubles
BW Vampires (2-0) - sided out one Approach of the Second Sun in the second game as I expected Lost Legacy, worked out so I had to fetch one from my
sideboard using Mastermind's Acquisition
UB Midrange (Intentional Draw) - the guy wanted to do it so we're both locked into Top 4
In the Top 4, I faced:
Esper GPG (2-1) - Back and forth game, exile effects provided very useful
Finals: Sultai Counters (1-2) - the last game was a nail-biter. Profane Procession held the fort for ages until Thrashing Brontodon. Anyway, he had a Negate for the 2nd Approach (didn't have any hand disruption at that point and my life total was low enough that I needed to go for it), then we were in top-deck mode until finally, he won with Hadana's Climb flip land on some creature.
I really liked the deck's performance, it might falter a bit more against blue based decks though. I am looking forward to Dark Bargain from Dominaria, it'll be like black's Glimmer of Genius and generate some good card advantage.
How do you guys face UW Drake Haven? There's one person in my meta who plays that and it's the only deck I consistently lose to or draw against when I play UB or Grixis (assuming Lost Legacy doesn't make it)
When playing Esper or BW Conntrol, I do fine.
It's the only deck I dislike facing. How do you guys play against it? Minus counter spells, is Lost Legacy the key card?
What about playing the normal control game, keep the board clear, then nuke them with Sanctum of the Sun + Torment of Hailfire? I'll be giving it a try
Draw_Gone, how does your deck do against aggressive decks? I just feel that it is light on removal
I ran Esper Approach for a few weeks, but it didn't feel as good as UB Scarab God, so now I'm playing Esper Scarab God and it handles really well. Vona has proven surprisingly useful. I miss having land slots for more utility lands like Field of Ruin and Scavenger Grounds
I would like advice on knowing when to flip Azcanta. Do you all flip it ASAP? Or are there certain matchups where it is better to keep it in scry mode? I made the mistake of keeping it in scry mode too long against a control deck and decked myself - that won't be happening again!
I know the UB Tezzeret Improvise deck probably isn't as competitive as a standard Control deck, but if one was to play it, is it better to play Metallic Rebuke or Supreme Will? I am not sure if the discount is better or having the late game filtering.
I am running 4 Reverse Engineer for draw and 9 artifacts
The Esper manabase looks very solid with the upcoming lands. Would people recommend running Aether Hubs or just more basic lands for more consistent early game check lands to hop in untapped?

Is it solely due to Ramunap Red? If that doesn't exist at the local meta, is it correct to keep Pull From Tomorrow in?
