It makes sense that Oloro, Ageless Ascetic might be from Vryn the birthplace of Jace Beleren. Look at his chair. Notice the back, and it's broken-circle shape. Now look at this little card named Ampryn Tactician. They have the same chair style! I really hope this is true because I think we need to visit the planes of cards from commander sets. In a previous post, I mentioned that Saskia the Unyielding might be from Valla/Kaldheim. Leave your thoughts below.
This should be fun. I'm more excited to see if Ashiok will be in hour of devastation or not. Personally, I hope this is an Atlantis/Underwater set with merfolk tribal support.
I was looking at a trailer for Core Set 2012 and I saw Gideon battling a army. I later saw I picture of the Immerstrum, from Planechase Anthology, and it was the same scene. Also, Valla is almost exactly Valhalla, an enormous hall for the honored dead in norse mythology. Another plane is Kaldheim, which translates to "Cold Home" in Norse. WOTC has combined planes before, with Mongseng and Tarkir, so they could potentially do it again. Also, if they do a set like this, we may need a reprint of Gideon. Another speculation is that Saskia the Unyielding is from Valla/Kaldheim, because in the backround of the art for her, there are warriors that kind of look like vikings. I would love to see a reprint for Saskia in the future.
