What do you think of replacing SLiverQueen with Scion of the Ur-Dragon, and adding in Worldgorger dragon? a combo piece in the command zone seems more relevant than a slightly larger beater or token fodder.
topplegeist- my list doesn't even run 4 card types and while it sort of works with rattle Chains laying my 1 drops after my 2 drops is a bad place to be. Drogskol Captain- I know, I know, scandulous but I cut him for his lack of interaction and lack of flash and have never looked back, selfless spirit and rattlechains are more than enough to protect our critters Snapcaster Mage- I don't like how mana intensive he is and honestly I'd rather just draw a new counter/removal than reuse old ones, additionally by running 18 critters his value goes down, I keep going back and forth but the inability to interact (we are tempo after all) until T3 usually T4 (if we hit our land drops) makes him less than ideal. Bygone Bishop- No interaction and high on the curve, pass Ghostly Flicker- Vapor snag and unsummon have more options, in fact bouncing opponents creatures is more common since I have rattlechains and selfless spirit to protect and fizzle. Nibilis of Frost- 4 drop, commanding color requirements, little immediate interaction, pass
Just wanted to say thanks! I've been building UW Spirits (I know, different deck but the way I've built mine it's actually quite similar) and this primer, particularly sideboard options have been a tremendous help!
could some one explain to me why Vexing devil isn't even mentioned in the primer? I understand that giving opponents choices are bad but it seems better than Nacatl comparison:
T1:
Nacatl, deals 3 damage T2, 6 damage T3 but good luck getting a 1 drop to stick that long in modern
Devil, deals 4 damage T1 or T2 (occasionally better than a lightning bolt!)
T2:
Nacatl, still could concievably hit for 3 and trade
Devil, still could concieably hit for 4
T3:
Nacatl, Maybe
Devil, Maybe
top deck:
Nacatl, countered/killed/blocked by goyf-Very Bad
Devil, countered/killed/blocked by goyf-Very Bad
Now, I don't play burn (thinking of starting though) so I'm sure I'm missing something, but can I really be missing something so big that it's not even mentioned in the Primer?
welcome to the most unique deck idea I have ever made.
This admittedly absurd looking deck seeks to generate one of many infinite combos to win the game. These combos are elaborate and difficult to assemble which is why the deck must draw almost the entire deck and generate 30+ mana to assemble. This seemingly impossible task is accomplished by chaining together mana doublers with cards that let us lay more lands (Azusa, Lost but Seeking) and untappers (Early Harvest). This insane amount of mana allows us to bring Omnath up to legendary proportions and draw an insane amount of cards (with cards like Life's Legacy), playing not unlike a storm deck. Omnath also allows us to move to combat phase for cards like Bear Umbra and, if we fizzle, prevent us from having to start again
Why you would need 50 combat steps when they only untap once I don't know, but it's awesome!
