    ...

Ramp decks would love this card, so UGx would make this miserable.

EDIT: Wait, I think I misunderstood that...you have to even have the COLOR of the spell? Then yeah, I would say bad card. Not quite so 'bad it's funny', as void believes, IMO.

Think he needs an 'accessory'...token decks would cry.

It's one of my weaker decks, in that it is more prone to durdling aimlessly along without really going anywhere; my other decks are either tuned, or suddenly explode without warning when I didn't think they could. W/L ratio is probably at around 50/50. I get a lot of groans when she shows up, for sure, but she encourages political discussion as well. People are MORE than willing to let me take stuff, as long as it's not theirs(big surprise, right?).

People really get annoyed when I race towards locking out everyone's commanders with Nevermore and the like, but overall, Merieke is just watched like a hawk for any explosive plays or combo pieces.

Commander tax is a valid concern, and in decks like my Edgar and Thrax decks, I have ways to get the general from the graveyard if at all possible, thereby circumventing the tax(at least for another cast). With that point in the wings, how easy is it to get noncreature permanents from the graveyard, and in which colors? That could play a factor as well...obviously they're not as easy to bring back as creatures, but being able to use them multiple times more often than originally thought...*shrug* Maybe I'm spitting in the wind, but it's my wooden nickel thought.

Did he sputter? Or hit his head on the table in despair? It would be SO much better if he sputtered, though. Grin

    Saber Ants

Why play this over Hornet Nest, you might ask. That answer is that really big ants are scary.

Even Scott Lang agreed with that statement.

Definitely the wrong time to break out an over a [c=Wrath of God]wrath though.

    Reki, the History of Kamigawa

I love the block this is from, I love drawing cards, and most of all, I love announcing "REKI! The Hiiiiiistory of KamiGawa!"

Great, reliable card draw in my Sisay deck(for obvious reasons). Get him out with a bunch of mana floating, and you can easily replenish your hand as you build your board.

Don't like that he's so fragile, but he's a historian, not a fighter.

Twenty minute EDH game(4 man pod)

One guy had Mogis, God of Slaughter and shortly thereafter dropping him, proceeded to drop Havoc Festival. Despite the fact that all other three players had colors to deal with the enchantment, it stuck around until everyone was in single-digits life.

    Now THAT'S speed.

Power 9 card without QUITE being Power 9. Regret trading the one I had back in the day...I should really try getting some Mirrodin packs and see if I can get this(or the handful of others I still want from that set).

This is possibly a hat that Wolverine would be very happy with. If you can't clear those enchantments for whatever reason...nice life total you had there.

After another time came up where I won the roll while playing Sisay, it was agreed that I could simply abdicate the choice to the next highest roller as long as I haven't looked at my hand. No problems since whenever I play Sisay(which is not that often...it's too tuned right now, lol).

Oh, and I had Gemstone Caverns in my hand that time, too. lol x 2

Sisay would be sad if P.Engine got the axe, but I would still be completely okay with it. Both it and Iona should have been banned long ago, I feel.

Always appreciate advice...this is one of my longest running decks(only beat out by Merieke), but it wouldn't be NEARLY as good without suggestions.

I'm shooting down Iona right now however, because a)it's too griefy, b)if not griefy, it's mean, and c)while it may never eat a ban from the RC, it's far too close to the line for me to consider it.

You make a good point about Shalai though...I'll keep an eye out for a copy.

Your non-legendary creatures are nice suggestions, but that's precisely what I'm trying to minimize, for maximum utilization of Sisay. I'm not saying there's not some good ones there(Mother of Runes), but there are other legendary suggestions I can utilize that are better, too(Eight-and-a-Half-Tails).

The mana fixing is actually surprisingly unnecessary in this deck. Getting Sisay out is rarely a problem, and once she's out, I can tutor up the lands I need if I have nothing else that needs doing.

I like the idea of Nature's Revolt, but you apparently missed Kamahl, Fist of Krosa as my other combo piece with Elesh. Trust me...getting the mana to animate even a whole table's worth of lands is rarely a problem. Still, a backup is never a bad idea, and it will certainly make wraths MUCH less desirable.

TYE definitely needs to be in this deck, as it functions AMAZINGLY in Merieke.

Concerning the legendary suggestions: I had Yisan until recently, but when I looked over my creatures, there would be a lot of turns where he does nothing because all the relevant CMC creatures are out. So, he got cut. And while I LOVED the idea of Karametra, she rarely did anything to justify her inclusion for me, and one of those times, it was when Sword of the Animist was out and equipped, which stole whatever thunder she might have made in the synergy.

Teshar is another one that seems interesting...I can likely find a slot for her.

Goreclaw seems interesting, but I only have 11 creatures who would benefit from him. I'll keep him in mind, but he's a back-burner one for now.

Thanks again for the suggestions...there are some that I would like to have, and the others...well, just not the direction I see for this deck. Smile

Minor note: Double check your card tags; about a quarter of them I had to look up because the preview didn't show.

Like most, he doesn't make the cut in my decks. I had him in Sisay, who WANTS legends, but this was early days, and there was way too much else I wanted to do with 6 mana, so...yeah.
