Eh, I've seen no evidence that anyone in [CMB] legitimately cares about how clan contests turn out.

I concur. Especially since the past year or twos contests have gone downhill in my opinion.

Now, the [CMB] tournaments are a different matter. We should figure out what should be done with those. Been a moment since the last one.

We've always been on the fence with those. Do we want multiple ones through out the year, or do we just want one at the very end of the year. I remember one time we discussed doing 2/year, one in summer, one in winter. We are getting close to the time I figured we could do a summer one. Shall we discuss this?

@FeralHydra: Hello and welcome to CMB. I concur with therestless on the deck list. Give that a go and see how you like it and keep posting here. We love company! I will add you to the minion category. Once your deck gets optimized and you reach the required post count, we will admit you to our glorious ranks!

So in other news, I had a mishap at work last week. Its an interesting story, actually.
I work at a department store (for now. The post-graduation job hunt is not going as quickly as I had hoped). So, I was helping one of our girls put some excess glue on the top shelf. She was on the ladder and I handed the boxes up. Well, the box gave out from underneath and the bottles fell. One burst open and got on my glasses. I tried wiping some off on my shirt, but couldnt get it all until I got to the bathroom to use water. So I get to the bathroom and the glue is already dried. My right lens is just covered in white glue.

So I reported it to my manager, and after we called my eye doctor, we discovered that no one would replace the lens since my prescription expired three months ago. So, doing the best I could, I had to use some serious chemicals to get the glue off the lens. I ended up getting distracted by some old guy asking questions and I left it sit on their too long. The chemical ate into my lens. Ate. Into. My. Lens. My vision is pretty obscured in the one lens.

So now I had to go to the eye doctor, and while I wait for my new glasses, I am currently experiencing something interesting: My first round with contacts. It took me an hour to get them in this morning.....

Shirei is one of the mono-black generals I haven't tried, so I have no particular input on the deck. Good luck!

I have only tried Ascendant Evincar, Geth, Lord of the Vault, and Mikaeus the Unhallowed. I am giving Shirei a go once M14 and the Relentless Demon clerics come out.

Actually, I even dismanteled Mikaeus for the moment. Too much of a target on his head, so I think I am going to rebuild him as Chainer, Dementia Master because he's my favorite black legend and i got a signed copy of him.

    EDIT: 2000th Post!

Hey guys, I updated the first post. Since we are keeping threads a bit longer than we used to, I have implemented some changes to membership. Nothing formal really. In the old system of 4 threads/year, when we got a new thread we demoted everyone who went inactive or very close to it in the previous thread. Since we changed that, I opted to demote a few members who only have a few posts here or there, and who's posts aren't recent (say, within the past three months). Going foreward, I'll keep better tabs on member activity and probably go as far as updating it the first of every month.

So in other news, Scavenging ooze is in M14. I like this.

I'm out guys. Magic is whatever really to me anymore. Plus two things. I just saw the name change. HORRIBLE! Dark confidant was a God. Scrivener is meh. Secondly. My names been misspelled on the op for quite some time now. Librarian not doin too good. Sorry guys. My dead end job is more important right now
    PS. All core sets suck

Sorry to hear you have to leave. I honestly had no clue your name was spelled wrong. I just copied and pasted it from Tor's old threads and I was not aware of any misspellings. Had it been brought to my attention though, I would have fixed it. As for the name, we work with what we got, I guess...

Hope things work out for you and I hope you find your way back here some day. You're always welcome in CMB.

So, your bum of an Evincar finally got around to doing the new banner. Changed the title to "Who Needs Blood Scrivener When You Have [CMB]" because I wasn't sure what kind of Blood Scrivener pun you guys came up with.

So in other news, I am down to a week and a half before I graduate! After that, you guys get your Evincar back full time!

EDIT: Also, while I am wondering. What would you guys prefer? A new thread at the core set or the new block? Its a ways off, but it hit my mind, so I might as well bring it up.

I'd like to join this hellbent clan.

Hello, I'm the big boss of the Clan here. If you look to the first post of the clan, you'll see that you have to submit a good and concise Mono Black list for our members to critique. If we view the deck as good enough, we will let you into our ranks as a Minion. Do your time there (50 posts) and you get to be a full time member, or Disciple of the clan.

Hope to see more of you around here. We are pretty easy to get along with.

Not vacation, this trip is for work. In fact, I'm posting this message from a nuclear power plant.

Even better! You know, i always said CMB could use more nuclear power plants.

So in other news, I got my Kindle Fire today as a graduation present from my mom. Not gonna lie, is pretty awesome.

Because I don't know Korean, I decided it would be best if I didn't go to any prereleases out here.

Oooh. Someone on vacation? I sure hope your are spreading our corruption.

In other news, how did everyone in Mono Black do at preleases?

Unfortunately not. I worked all weekend.

So I am going to do the Pontiff as the new art for now. I am planning on a new thread for M14, unless someone can give me some good reasons to wait until Theros. We'll just have to remember to update the art/title more often. When we do, I'm going to do another user cleanse again.

    Same day we got these:

Mobilization We Have No Bananas? Pancakebunny Psyshiro Duckezawa What a Wookie Pumpkin Penguin Science! EMO

Its like the rest of my night doesn't even matter now.

Thanx. How big are they? (Not a reference to anything else :p:nod:)
    Wink
8-10" I'd say. I'm looking at one but am too lazy to fetch a ruler.

    Ehh...I'll look into it. Thanx. ~*~ Y
I do admit, they aren't the best for travel, as its kind of bulky if your like me and carry a small bag. Plus all the decks weight is concentrated in that box, making weight distribution a bit of an issue.

That sounded way to scientific. Just go with it. Science is cool. Much like bow ties.

EDIT: So since you guys were wondering why Russian Alara was asking me. He made that forum in his link and was inquiring about specialists. I got seduced into modding the Standard stuff. I haven't really played much standard in a while, at least not like I used to. But you can say I'm jumping in head first. Started writing some primers. When they're done, I'll have to link to them for yins. We could always use some help getting things running too.

    I smell a conspiracy... :fry::fry::fry::fry:

    Sneaky

When did we get Fry smiles?

Anyway, does anyone know how many sleeved decks a fat pack box can hold? I've been using a New Phyrexia booster box to hold my black decks and well, lets just say its falling apart.

Or, more specifically, can a fat pack box hold six 60 card decks and one EDH deck?

A simple Fat Pack box, as in the one box, holds 3 sleeved decks. Two if they are double sleeved. 1 and a half if thats a double sleeved commander deck. Thats what I use when I go places.

What you can look into if your interested is one of those Holiday Pack boxes. I can fit about 12 sleeved EDH decks into one of those.

I vote pontiff. I already have it as my desktop wallpaper and it looks sexy Cool

We can do the Pontiff since we have that art. Or we can add Blood Scrivener and add to the irony of our title and that its not Dark Confidant.

Then I can put Scion of Darkness and Urborg Justice back in my Clerics deck, and take out all the discard because it'll be casual again.

So, I never knew Urborg Justice existed, and I really want it for a couple of my EDH decks. In some of my decks where sacrificing critters isnt an issue at all, that can be a one sided wrath.

So in other news, with my summer getting closer, my crew and I have begun brewing modern and standard for FNMs. I'm working on Jund in Modern now, but am also building Gruul with a white Splash. Funny enough, after cleaning out my box of rares and sleeving and bindering all my rares, I have come to the conclusion that most modern decks are within my reach to build. In fact, I can probably finish any given proven modern deck for about 40 bucks, so I am not complaining. Since the one place near me started doing modern every Thursday night, I might have to test that out.

EDIT: So, Thread wise. We never did get around to moding the thread for Gatecrash. So what about Dragon's Maze? Im putting Debt to the Deathless up for nomination if we can find big art for it. Its not Mono-Black, but we dont have much to work with this time.

Every time I begin to lock up a game and know I'm going to win, I play this song in my head.

I'm pretty sure my playgroup wouldn't argue if I actually played it either.
