If I have a Wind Zendikon on a Raging Ravine, and I activate the ravine, would not the resultant creature have flying in addition to the characteristics of the animated ravine?
If I control a Lich's Mirror, and I cast Channel this turn, and I am at 1 life, can I cast a spell by using the 1 mana produced by Channel before the Lich's mirror triggers, or do I "lose the game" before I can finish casting the spell, triggering the mirror, shuffling my hand back?
Consider Knowledge Exploitation while it might not seem too impressive, It will often be capable of of hitting at least a cryptic command, if not possibly the occasional Cruel Ultimatum or other card, and it is not very expensive if you prowl it out, which should be easy.

One thing to note in the -oblast v. Elemental blast argument, while the downsides to the blasts would be only with something your opponent may have (Imp's Mischief, Swerve...) there are many reasons, based upon both your own and your opponent's cards which make the -oblasts better: Storm, Erayo, Skulking Ghost, Megrim w/ discard...I think it far outweighs the likelyhood that your opponent would have a Swerve-esque effect.
Hydro/Pyro blast can target any permanent or spell, even if it would be to no effect, making them better for some stuff (Storm being the most obvious).
You can't play Voracious Hatchling in a Doubling Season deck and it isn't as good with Shield of the Oversoul. Just thought I'd point that out; I still think it's close enough to count.

Blue Elemental Blast < Hydroblast
Hydro/Pyro blast can target any permanent or spell, even if it would be to no effect, making them better for some stuff (Storm being the most obvious).
These both count as corner cases.
Is arcane-ness enough to make something strictly better? yeah there is a lot of support, but there is Hisoka's Defiance and Ishi-Ishi, Akki Crackshot too.
