Look like I'll be trying out Valkyria Chronicles. Thanks folks!

Thanks, I'll stay away from it. I didn't really like Disgaea 1 and 2 (maybe I'm just spoiled from FFT), so I definitely wouldn't want a worse version.

Ever tried Valkeria Chronicles? Was looking at that too.

Has anyone seen this yet? I'm wanting to play an old-school RPG type game and I was hoping this might fit the bill, but I've never played any of the Agarest games. I was wondering how they were in general. I generally stay away from the games where the women look like water-balloon/human hybrids (crazy enlarged chesticles) but most RPGs nowadays seem to be overly-cutesy Anime based artwork or are not turn based and are trying to mimic MMOs with the way combat plays out (Kingdoms of Amalur looks like this to me), and I don't like either of these things.

If there's a good newish RPG I'm missing out there (for either PS3 or PC) holler at me. Things I like:
In-depth character development (The FF Job system being one of the best of course)
    Non-annoying characters (especially voice acting)
    Interesting storyline

Mini games and crafting can be cool concepts but I don't like playing games where crafting is both required and ridiculous in terms of farming.

I've been playing Yorick a lot and loving it. I was wondering what you guys build with him. My core is generally Aegis, Locket, Manamune and then build Iceborn.

Edit: Said Udyr because I'm a nut.

Concerning initiating with Sona, it isn't hard if your team isn't scared to fight (sometimes I can't get the tanks to initiate). Just follow your initiator in like everyone is supposed to do. If the adc and the initiator both show up, then right after they hit you ult their team (after the initiator's thing wears off in case of Amumu/Malph/etc.). Generally if your adc has started on their team, by the time your initiator has plowed into them and your ult has worn off their adc should be dead and probably someone else too. This makes it a lot easier to survive and stick around in the back to poke/heal/buff.

Of course this depends on your initiator and your adc not sucking. Sometimes I have a tank that won't start a fight, or an adc that didn't build any damage, times like that you just have to hope someone else on your team can make use of the ult. Sona seems a lot more teamwork-dependent than some other supports, I have better overall success with champs that can just keep their adc healed in lane so they don't kill themselves but it's always nice to be able to play a champion like Sona or Nunu that rewards better teamwork and have it work out nicely.

Her W is what initially attracted me to her. It's her E that makes me love her so much, though. I don't really have mana problems with her so far.

Well, I'm just speaking from my own experiences. I admit I'm spoiled by how Sona was. I'm also not that good :p . When I want to be an aggro support I like Nunu.

I used to be a big fan of Sona but her heal got nerfed a lot. I've been supporting with Nami mostly and she rules. A better heal, her ult is similar to Sona's, and I really really love her E it's a huge boost for the ADC. Not as easy to play but not hard.

Name changed to PirateNinjaRobot. Favorite skins are Battlecast Prime Cho'gath, Arcade Sona, and the one I want to get is Enhanced Singed.

No, I wouldn't want to see Dark Souls attain 'as great a presence' as the Elder Scrolls Games. That would make it worse, jeez.

All I can say to that is I play my games for fun, not a Soundtrack. Being a guy that thinks music started sucking after 1998 (and also during the 80s), I don't intend to ever buy a Soundtrack anyway.

Ok, so no one's interested. Fair enough :p . I went ahead and bought a bundle that was on sale on Steam, I think it's pretty cool and a nice change from what I've been playing.

This is a new game on Steam that's 'free' in the same vein as League of Legends is, in that you can earn points to buy stuff by fighting or you can buy them with cash, and some things that so far look to only be cosmetic can be bought only with cash. Anyway, it's like a multiplayer combination RTS/Tower defense and it's pretty cool.

If anyone checks it out, I'd appreciate it if you'd click on the pink question mark at the top right of the screen and mark 'ArrMatey' as your referral, as you get points to buy stuff as your referrals level up (you also get points for marking someone as your referral so it's good for you too!).

Pretty fast-paced and fun, I've played 2 games and I like it so far.

I played 2 ranked games where we had 2 feeders on my team each time and now I'm afraid to play the next 3 ranked games, afraid I'll be stuck in real ELO hell (which seems to be around 800 judging by last season). I'm not a pro or anything but I don't want to be in an ELO where I'm pretty much guaranteed to have someone that seems to be trying to throw the game. I realize dummies exist at all levels but I still have this irrational fear of playing ranked right now :p

I've yet to encounter a room that I've cleared later having aliens in it on the PC. However, I wish aliens would be more sneaky like that - there are usually a couple of paths to take through a Battleship, for example, and you have to assume they have some sort of monitoring system given that they share a hive mind - so why wouldn't they try to flank your guys by sneaking around? I also think that the Battleships don't have enough critters for their size - I just finished a Battleship mission where I killed 23 aliens but I fought in like 1/5 of the rooms of the ship, I think it'd be cool if they swarmed out or something. I'm about to start a Classic game, maybe it will be like that there.
