Help me belive in this, i want to just destroy people at game day with this
Make my budget dreams come true, i see that Catalysmic gearhulk is a buck and i think this could be a sick budget deck, but i have 4 fatal pushes and 4 disallows so i think a esper build would be a lot of fun, just stop everything they have and run 4 rise of the second sun
6w
if this is the second time you cast rise of the second sun from your hand, you win the game, if not gain 7 life and put rise of the second son under 7 cards of your library
What do you guys think of adding a 1 of of liliana of the veil discard a fatty, make them sac their one play post living end, i cracked one at a MM draft and want to use her
SO I got a big tax return and felt like getting some pretty expensive cards, im sick of going to FNMS and getting 2/2 with my budget stompy decks so i decided to dip my toes in the modern pool, this deck really attracted me because i played a budget version of it a few years ago so i had most of the pieces, and i got plenty of shocklands from a freind
heres my build, i know i should have more bloodstained mires and the fastlands but i have what i have
Is there a second level primer for this deck, so i can know about matchups and what to siddeboard for what, and what to do about a turn 1/ turn 2 hate carddon
Am i trying to top 8 a protour, no, but i would like to hustle my LGS's and actually win an FNM (Ive gotten close, but ive never actually won an FNM)
Okay so I got a dark intimations at my pre release and it won me the tournament and i cracked another one in my winnings, its a 50c card so i figured why not grab them now in case Bolos is just insane in the next set
now this is just a rough outline of what im going for, its Grixis improvise, my mind is really on aether revolt right now so anything from innistrad or kaladesh would help me out
So i got Dark Intimations in my sealed pool and it won me the pre release, it was so fun to play with and i really liked playing B.r.u. and i cracked open another one in the packs i won so I want to try this deck out
I want to really build a hardcore card advantage deck something that can control Untill i get a gearhulk out and just star wrecking people
and when nico bolos comes out in the next set it would be awesome to play with him
I won 16 packs so ive got plenty of cards to work with, but what should i look for in innistrad and kaladesh (and preferably not zendikar, since this is the deck i want to play into ahmanket)
Im usually an aggro player so some tips about being a control player would really help
I'm new to modern and ive been tolling around with this deck ive noticed its very suicidal, what with all the dual lands and fetches, im usually at 10 life when i go off, how do i get around this
So i found some descenents path and i thought, there are probably some low cost cards i could cast on turn 1-2 and get an eldrazi scion, and then use tutor or path on turn 3 and turn four flip over an eldarzi and through some blue in there to make sure i flip one, i filled it with 20 of the meanest eldrazi's could find so i'll have a greater then 1 in 3 chance of flipping one if i didnt get a blue spell off to organize and path lets you cast the creature so i still get the bonus, and an extra turn if i get emrakul,
im wondering what a sideboard for this deck would look like, i have some Melira, slyvok outcast so i can run green and if im going to play modern im going to find the right deck and buy peices over a few weeks so im not afraid to spend money on solid investments like dual lands
Turn 1 Messenger, swing 1 turn two, messenger flips Duskwatch recruiter swing 2, turn three do nothing, daybreak flips, then flash in howlpack resurgence on their eot, or to block a something with 3 power, and then dump your hand on turn four including geire reach banding, 3 haste for 1R plus a messenger or a prowler you can save for when bandit flips, your now out of spells so your wolves WILL flip again
Moonlight hunt sounds like a gimmicky card but can take out gear hulks sometimes its good to run one for stuff out of harnessed lighting range
I was running 2 Ulrich of the Krallenhorde and 1 Arlinn Kord but i bumped it up to 3 ulrichs and 2 arlinns and they just change the game when they get in, i might even be opening up to running 3 of he,
ive also noticed that this deck just dies to radiant flames so im having a big problem with 3 color decks wich im seeing alot of. other then hermit of the knatterknolls im not sure what to do against control decks
and blossoming defense doesnt even help out because there are alot of white cards that make you sacrifice instead of targeting
another thing i noticed was that silverfur partisan almost never produced for me so i dropped all copys in my deck when i got my 4 Geier reach bandits
I love hypergenisis im working on a deck that can go off as fast as possible
I found an LGS that lets you play with a fully proxied legacy deck so i have no budget for this deck
i really like the deck i have i feel like i have an answer for everything, now i know this deck is a real gamble and you got to be lucky with it, but its alot of fun. What kind of cards should i sideboard for this deck

Per Standard forum rules, until the entire set is spoiled, posts that refer to spoilers need to be in the Standard New Card Discussion subforum. Moving this there. Thanks! - hoser2

Okay so im running this deck and ive noticed its pretty fast,
Alot of people have been complimenting me on the synergy in this deck
Village Messenger always flips
turn one Kessig Prowler + turn two Waxing Moon= good times
Turn 1 Messenger, swing 1 turn two, messenger flips Duskwatch recruiter swing 2, turn three do nothing, daybreak flips, then flash in howlpack resurgence on their eot, or to block a something with 3 power, and then dump your hand on turn four including geire reach banding, 3 haste for 1R plus a messenger or a prowler you can save for when bandit flips, your now out of spells so your wolves WILL flip again

Im looking for advice for my sideboard
i have some hermit of the knatterknolls root out but vechiles arent as big a problem as i thought they would be
ive also noticed that this deck just dies to radiant flames so im having a big problem with 3 color decks wich im seeing alot of. other then hermit of the knatterknolls im not sure what to do against control decks
