    Hows the deck running at present? Any comments regarding the recent additions? I've had a couple of playtests recently and fairly happy with how things are for Vial and Kraum, although I'm definitely interested in ways to bring walkers back from the 'ýard. Just wondering if you have any feedback on The Eldest Reborn, Deliver Unto Evil and The Elderspell?

    I've also had a Grave Titan come free, so wondering if this has held its own here; likewise with Archfiend of Depravity. I've found it's nice to have early walkers, but it definitely draws attention if you don't have something to protect it - I've been tossing up freeing up a Phyrexian Obliterator for this too, purely for presenting a difficult choice to opponents in swinging at me (although admittedly BBBB is tough for tri colours). Also, in this respect I can really recommend Ugin, the Ineffable as a great option. He makes your rocks more or less free, his spirits are excellent chump blockers that you sort of want to die anyway, and his third ability is obviously great control.

    Agreed - I think once you've been playing a while someone pinching your stuff has an air of 'ýou did this to yourself', but being new to the format it does make folk a little salty.

    Had a great playtest today against Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage, Thantis the Warweaver and Arcades, the Strategist. Had a ton of fun with some crazy shenanigans, and it ended with a victory, but everyone enjoyed themselves despite the 'superfriends bad juju' thing. Some observations:

    All in all, I was pleased with the win and with some of the cards I had yet to playtest, but just as pleased that everyone had a great game, as I've been worried the deck is a little griefy.

    Made a couple of small additions overnight:

    Izzet Signet
    Blast Zone

    Clock of Omens

    Omens needs a slightly heavier weight of rocks to see a significant impact. I was tossing up removing this or Inspiring Statuary, as either have their pros and cons, but I think for the moment Omens was the right choice. Blast Zone was not in the right place in Glissa, whereas here I can proliferate the hell out of it, and I have a little more incidental mana to drop on it.

    I've also now got a free Grave Titan, which I've seen mentioned in WizardMN's list as a reasonable deterrant to combat, so I'd be interested in how that has played out. I've been tossing up trying to squeeze it in here; either that or Phyrexian Obliterator, no one wants to be chump blocked by that thing.

    Made the call last night:

    Command the Dreadhorde becomes Patriarch's Bidding
    Noosegraf Mob becomes Zombie Apocalypse

    I'll hold on to the other little bits for now and see how these play out for now. Obviously will be trying to squeeze Corpse Knight in somewhere in the next few weeks too, so I'll make more changes then. I'm also on the ropes about my existing Zedruu the Greathearted deck, which I haven't played in months. It has an Alhamarret's Archive in it, so I could potentially pull it apart for value and bolster Varina's draw ability. I've yet to decide, but it's a possibility. I'm sort of waiting for a commander I want to build around that could use some of the pieces I've got in my folder. They're mostly WG, but I'm not sure who if anyone deserves a new build. I'll mull it over.

    No single card has failed to impress me over the last couple of years as much as Azusa, Lost but Seeking. I'm not sure how but even in a windgrace lands matter list with 45+ lands she did less than nothing.

    You could always meet her halfway with something like Wayward Swordtooth. It does well in my Nissa build.
    This is a legitimate concern. The way I end up playing it more than not I attempt to live in 2nd place and fly under the radar until I resolve Living death or Rise of the Dark Realms and create an avalanche of card advantage or simply combo out with Jarad

    This speaks to a need for immediate impact, to my mind. I would definitely look at getting Gray Merchant of Asphodel into the list. Totally feasible in a bicolour list, and recurring it will just get you there really quickly. Koko I can definitely see missing, purely because it requires a little more finagling and repetition to win with, but Gary is well worth it for immediate value and the possibility of being a really solid finisher.

    So, my mail day finally arrived (mail from the States to New Zealand takes an eternity):

    As well as a copy of Infernal Darkness, which I'd been thinking of maybe squeezing in. Not entirely sure it'll fit well, but it's not the worst idea to my mind, considering we've got colour fixing rocks and mass reanimation spells to keep us going. Plus it's something else Aminatou can keep going, and something for Soul Diviner to draw from.

    Here's what's potentially on the chopping block for these:
    Command the Dreadhorde
    Read the Runes
    Noosegraf Mob
    Forgotten Creation

    I'll unpack the deck tonight and see what my thoughts are, these seem reasonable to chop.

    Yeah, the life loss is troublesome, but buyback is optional so there's that. Not awful, but probably doesn't stand up to newer options. There's bound to be ways to turn the life loss to your advantage. Tree of Perdition comes to mind, as does Tainted Sigil and the newly anointed Fresh Prince of Hell Air, Vilis, Broker of Blood.

    Makes sense. I'd be just as happy to run Elixir of Immortality or Psychic Spiral personally, but Reclamation is pretty lean so I get why you'd go for that.

    1) I maintain Vizier of the Scorpion and Eternal Skylord are important for this deck, because Flying and Deathtouch are two extremely important abilities to have in EDH (the latter to allow this removal-less deck to keep other aggro players honest, and the former to check all those big flying threats that are always running around in the format). That said, I do see Amass not being very powerful on cards that do JUST that, so I removed Aven Eternal and put Prized Amalgam in its place. As for Phyrexian Delver, it was already there :p

    Whoops, missed the Delver :p . I think there's a place for the ability granting amass creatures, but really only if you're leaning into tokens heavily. It's not something I have a TON of, although there are a few; if they granted abilities to all of your zombies they'd obviously be an absolute lock. As it is, I prefer Death Baron in replacement of the Vizier, and for flying I use sweepers and Eldrazi Monument (it's so perfect with Gravecrawler).
    3) I never thought about Aetherflux Reservoir, but now that you mention it, it seems like a badass idea! I put that and Mana Vault in, replacing the two tribal artifacts which, while not really redundant per se, are just too pricey in terms of mana.

    I think it's a disgusting card personally, but I fully acknowledge that it ends games in the most surgical fashion. It makes sense for it to be in a deck that gains life regularly, and it leans really nicely up against your Gravecrawler/Phyrexian Altar combo; essentially you could either find an aristocrat, or this.
    4) Beacon of Unrest is another card that I'd never considered, but I do see it being useful in a deck that has lots of graveyard shenanigans but no Eternal Witness. I'll test it and see how it goes

    I'd be interested to hear how it goes; I've got a spare copy myself, and it's done really well in my Dralnu build, I've wondered if it would be worth running here. The shuffle effect is what makes it worth paying 3BB.
    5) I chose not to include any wheels no Smothering Tithe, because doing so would require too many and too significant alterations to how the deck plays.

    Fair enough. They do well for me here in terms of mass reanimation strategies, Archfiend of Ifnir devastation, and digging for things I need. Tithe is a KOS piece against most people, and in Esper it's well worth having some extra colour fixing.

    edit - I know blinx28 was tossing up inclusion of Phyrexian Reclamation. What does it do for you here, and how well does it fit?

    Personally, I think it's more about building a deck that scales with the table, and some decks are better at this than others. My standard recommendation here is Lazav, Dimir Mastermind. It works really well with this concept because a lot of its power comes from your interactions with other decks, so it's really good at matching what's happening in each game.

    RG - Nikya of the Old Ways? Self limiting Gruul stompy could be fun. In a similar vein, Ruric Thar, the Unbowed is a cool commander, especially because his damage is universally indiscriminate.

    WG - Selvala, Explorer Returned - it CAN be broken, but otherwise is a reasonably fun commander so long as you don't.

    BR - Grenzo, Dungeon Warden - He's straight up one of my favourite commanders ever, purely for his uniqueness. There's a really quality primer here on salvation too. He uses some off the beaten track stuff, is relatively powerful without being busted, and does stuff no other commander does.

    Weltkrieg- mono white is usually my jam for 60-card, but its rough in commander.

    It's not really the place to debate, but mono white gets a bad rap for being awful when it isn't. My Bruna build is probably one of my most successful generally, and it ramps better than most other decks I play against (partly because it has to, obviously).

    Oh man, I used to run Savra, and honestly it was a ton of fun. Although the triggers can get a bit overwhelming from time to time. Still, so much fun. She definitely doesn't get enough love. If I wasn't playing Glissa, I'd be tempted to build Savra again.

    Value things I used to run:
    Apprentice Necromancer
    Reassembling Skeleton
    Sakura-Tribe Elder
    Doomed Necromancer
    Smothering Abomination
    Disciple of Bolas
    Strands of Night

    Mine was a fairly janky build, courtesy of a reasonably new to the format sort of attitude. It was still fun and did stuff, but this one definitely looks more focused. However, the black reanimation dorks were handy, as were things like Victimize and Smothering Abomination - that thing was a legitimate draw tank in Savra. Cards for what you're doing anyway is a no brainer.
    I have never been a fan of Worm Harvest but it seems like it could do good work here since the tokens are both colors. How good has this card been?

    I can confirm the value in this card for Savra - being both colours make her work twice as hard, it really is worth it. I also definitely think Gary and Koko could fit well here. They're both great for the big life swings that a commander like this could benefit from, and both game-ending spells in their own right.
