The Jace subtype is not useless, its almost useless though. Currently there are Jace's Defeat and Jace's Sentinel that care about the subtype.
Im expecting this to become more prevalent with future set releases.
As the target of "Don't be a -insert expletive here-" quite frequently ive learned to make a variety of deck types that suit particular groups, i even keep a precon unchanged to play other precons.
Very dissapointed this wasnt a deck for Commander 2017. We may never see tribal commander decks again and this would have been a solid spot for some commander focused dinosaurs and pirates.
A lot of people are citing Alpha commons/uncommons as iconic. What are some iconic cards from Masques through Onslaught block? What were some of the Standard defining cards of that era? Wasn't Astral Slide a huge deal? And Terminate?
Given the data in the op have we considered player density and market saturation. There probably are a greater number of players who played cards that line up with the original data which would certainly make the more recent stuff more iconic to a greater number of players.
This comment is spot on. The full name of IMA should be "Iconic to players from 2009 through 2015 Masters". Wizards didn't bother catering to players from the first half of Magic because they're likely not playing anymore.
With this logic, IMA should appeal to me. After leaving Magic in 1998, I came back in 2009 and have played since. However, I interact with cards from all sets from playing Legacy and Commander and grooming my collection. Bottom line is "iconic" means many things to many people. But as TetzaHexlog says, it likely means "2009-2015" for the vast majority of people.
A lot of people in their 30s play the game and remember the old school days. I know several people my age who go play draft at FNM. All of us at least played during Mirage and up.
Ive played since Saga and feel that a reprint of 7th edition in its entirety would have been more Iconic; however i still understand that most of the players i see at fnm's and pre-releases look at anything older than Alara as an Ancient set.
The Red Black clan - League of Dastardly Doom
And i cant use it in Purphoros or Daretti...
Considering its creature type is cat cat im not surprised as its twice the cat Savannah Lions will ever be.
Jack knife is another name for a pocket knife
Im expecting this to become more prevalent with future set releases.
Although this leads into a variety of combos but i think it would be okay anyway.
