When playing Edric, Spymaster of Trest, cast your weenies first and then only cast Edric because you want to draw cards in a burst. If you cast Edric and then only your weenies, your card draws will be spread out in the course of a few turns.

Dralnu, Lich Lord does not have a downside.

I thought having to sack permanents is a downside.

Tip: Azor's revelation ability is optional, and you do not need to use it with big mana, so leave enough resource for defense. If you suffer from a X = 5+ investment, you have your own greed to blame.

Tip: Your deck should be constructed with your commander out of the equation in mind.

Cyber, but but, that is the whole purpose of EDH. To build a deck around a general.

What are the tips that you can share when playing your commander/general?

TILT Jhoira of the Ghitu's CMC is 5, NOT 3. Why? because she is such a lightning rod, you need to open two mana to counter a removal spell or suspend right away. Never ever cast Jhoira for its 3 CMC when playing against a removal heavy deck.

What are your tips? Share with the rest of us!

So, I want to build a deck specifically for 1v1 YET still using the same multiplayer rules (Sol Rings are okay, 40 life etc).
What commander is suitable for 1v1? Is Jhoira of the Ghitu okay?

I ran a Jhoira list for about a year. It was quite narrow, just mana rocks, fatties, turn/boardwipe cards and any suspend-removal cards I could get my hands on. I'd frequently find myself with an Eldrazi titan on the board Turn 3/4, or at the very least suspending obliterate+fatty and essentially winning the game on the spot. I ran one of each titan, old and new, plus Blightsteel Colossus, Stormtide Leviathan, Consecrated Sphinx, Jin-Gitaxias, Akroma, etc. The board heavily relies on those early game mana rocks and suspend counter removal. In the end I took it apart because the playgroup hated it, as did my local meta.

I play Jhoira as well (and loving it!). But how in the world did you have an eldrazi on turn 3/4? U mean suspended or on the battlefield already?

Mountain, Island, Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, Izzet Signet, Timecrafting and generic fatty in hand.

Turn one set up mana base, turn two drop Jhoira and suspend one card, turn three suspend second card and timecraft first card. Most of the deck was mana rocks and card draw alongside suspend targets so if I didn't hit the "right" cards on draw or turn 1 I'd draw into them.

Your playgroup hated it because you are able to spit out Eldrazi that fast or the boardwipe/MLD?

In many cases both. The playgroup used to allow part mulligan rules so I'd be able to pretty effectively ensure I had a fatty + obliterate or something similar in hand ready. Suspend both at the same time and you can wipe a board and then cast an Eldrazi with haste. Annihilator ensured nobody could build a board. Leviathan ensures nobody can attack. Hell, even a Breaker of Armies ensures nobody gets to keep their creatures. I included Void Winnower for a more oppressive approach.

People at the store got frustrated that they didn't get to play their decks so I took it to bits.

You shouldn't have dismantled it. Use it as a 'rattlesnake' deck. If they play a mean deck, so do you.

So, I still get to remove counters from the suspended creature as normal?

I suspended a creature with Jhoira. Then I cast Jokulhaups. My opponent says since Jhoira dies, Jhoira brings the suspended creature down with her. I say that Jokulhaups leave the suspended creature alone because it is in exile. Who is right?

So, basically the title yeah. Where can I, after copying and pasting my deck, choose the set/expansion and then the total price of my deck is calculated for me?
I am too lazy to find the card prices one by one.

Absolutely. I won a game recently this way.

It's usually a very simple operation to say "I'll stack my triggers so Kozilek resolves after Decree" but if you're playing with fussy people, you might need to explain it in further detail. Each suspended card has two triggered abilities. The first is "At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter from this card" and the second is "When the last counter is removed, cast it without paying its mana cost." So we are actually dealing with four separate triggers here. Some people might insist that you process everything step by step.

    Step by step:

    1) At the beginning of your upkeep, the first triggered ability of both suspended cards (remove a counter) trigger and you may put them on the stack in any order you like. Let's see what happens if you put the Decree trigger on first, then the Kozilek trigger on top.

So the abilities on the stack now looks like this

Top: Remove a time counter from Kozilek
Bottom: Remove a time counter from Decree of Annihilation.

    2) If no player responds to those triggers, then the top item on the stack will resolve and remove the last time counter from Kozilek. This will cause his second ability to trigger.

The Stack now looks like this

Top: Cast Kozilek from exile without paying its mana cost.
Bottom: Remove a time counter from Decree of Annihilation.

    3) If there's no responses, the top item on the stack will resolve and Kozilek will be cast and his enter the battlefield ability will trigger (Draw four cards).

    The stack

    Top: Draw four cards.
Bottom: Remove a time counter from Decree of Annihilation.

    4) Assuming no response, you'll draw your four cards.

    The Stack

Top: Remove a time counter from Decree of Annihilation.

    5) If no player responds to those triggers, then the top item on the stack will resolve and remove the last time counter from Decree. This will cause its second ability to trigger.

    The Stack

Top: Cast Decree without paying it's mana cost.

    6) Assuming no response, Decree will resolve. Nuking everything including your shiny new Kozilek.

So to keep Kozilek, it's a simple matter to ensure in step 1 that you "CLEARLY ANNOUNCE" that you are putting Kozilek on the stack first and Decree of Annihilation on top of it.

Top: Remove a time counter from Decree of Annihilation
Bottom: Remove a time counter from Kozilek.

That way, Kozilek will be safely suspended with a time counter will everything else is annihilated.

    Hope this helps

Thank you all especially to Oreth for breaking it down step by step. It is easy to wrap my head around this.
