Here is my new and improved Malevolent Creation, that took 1st place at a tournament. I'm very pleased with its flawless performance. Compliments and/or constructive comments are appreciated.
2 Tarmogoyf vs. 4 Tarmogoyf: I had tested 4 Goyf before and it started to bring the deck in a more aggro direction; meaning a direction I do not want to take it. 2 Goyf on the other hand adds a quick and effecient cheap beats that I see enough so that its not too much. It is also a prime Unearth target.
Kokusho: Another great beats, a way to counteract life loss, and importantly a great synergetc combo with Recurring Nightmare.
I have seen a great deal of Green-Black decks running Spectral Force as of late. Is it because it is a cheap 8/8 trampler for 5 or does it have some synergy with G/B that I'm not reading correctly in the wording?
Since its Halloween, well a bit after, I figured I'd start a topic of what everybody's favorite horror films were.
Mine are as follows:
1. Alexandre Aja's High Tension
2. Eli Roth's Hostel
3. Rob Zombie's The Devil's Rejects
4. Ruggero Deodato's Cannibal Holocaust
5. Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
I run my own Legacy variant of The Rock and it runs 4 Thoughtseize along with a switch off between 4 Duress or 3 Cabal Therapy. I can't decide, but Thoughtseize is utterly amazing.
The mana base for this deck is perfect and runs amazingly with just the 18 lands. Right now, the Goyfs are out, permanantly, they took my deck into a completely different direction that I want it to go. Right now I'm test Duress over Therapy and also two Garruk Wildspeaker. So far so good.
Also I was wondering if I could change the text "May You Wake to Find You Were Only Ever A Dream..." in the foreground behind the pictures across the lower right corner of the banner. Also if you could make the banner of the same size as the guy above me I'd appreciate it.
I have some changes I would like to add to the selected images if I may. The order generally remains the same except move Damnation to be behind the elf in the fetal position on Sylvan Scrying to create kind of a cool effect that I am sure you could do. And in place of Damnation's old position replace it with a picture of Recurring Nightmare and have its background do something cool I guess. Thanks again.
Vampiric Tutor is banned in Legacy unfortunately...
I've been toying with the idea of Living Wish and eventually it may end up in there, but for now, this build does amazingly well. At the last local tourney I participated in, despite I took 2nd place, I had the best record of the night with this deck. I do see what you mean with Solemn Simulacrum, I'm pondering replacing him with 2 Kodama's Reach.
Morbid Angel fan I see, my personal favorite is Altars of Madness.
I think Rob Zombie is a godsend for Horror films.
As you said, good to see a person here who like good music and good movies. Also somebody who understands the deck.
I do see what you mean; however those two forms never clash in the deck. I am curious of what RecSur, I'm sure I've seen it before; however the build does not cross my mind currently. If you could provide a brief synopsis of what it is or a general built it would be most helpful. Thanks.
I like your stuff. I was hoping you could make me a cool sig banner. I would like it to be blended and include the Grand Prix art of Spiritmonger, Damnation on one side, with Sylvan Scrying in the center, and the textless promo art of Putrefy and Extirpate on one side. And in appropriately designed text I guess, the phrase "In Death There Can Be Life".
4x Ravenous Baloth
3x Ohran Viper
3x Eternal Witness
2x Tarmogoyf
1x Kokusho, the Evening Star
4x Sakura-Tribe Elder
4x Birds of Paradise
4x Thoughtseize
4x Cabal Therapy
2x Unearth
2x Recurring Nightmare
2x Damnation
5x Forest
4x Swamp
1x Volrath's Stronghold
2x Wooded Foothills
2x Bloodstained Mire
Reasons:
2 Tarmogoyf vs. 4 Tarmogoyf: I had tested 4 Goyf before and it started to bring the deck in a more aggro direction; meaning a direction I do not want to take it. 2 Goyf on the other hand adds a quick and effecient cheap beats that I see enough so that its not too much. Kokusho: Another great beats, a way to counteract life loss, and importantly a great synergetc combo with Recurring Nightmare.
Enjoy!

If that doesn't work the usual artwork will do just fine.
Also I was wondering if I could change the text "May You Wake to Find You Were Only Ever A Dream..." in the foreground behind the pictures across the lower right corner of the banner. Also if you could make the banner of the same size as the guy above me I'd appreciate it.

-1 Spiritmonger Thats as low as I'll go, I just love the card too damn much.
+1 Kokusho, the Evening Star More utility to Recur.
-2 Sylvan Scrying
+2 Kodama's Reach
Those should be obvious.
-2 Sad Robot
+2 Worldly Tutor
PS: Alexandre Aja and Neil Marshall are also godsends to horror. High Tension is my all time favorite horror film.
That too should be obvious.
Morbid Angel fan I see, my personal favorite is Altars of Madness.
I think Rob Zombie is a godsend for Horror films.
As you said, good to see a person here who like good music and good movies. Also somebody who understands the deck.
Thank you very much
