the combination of fiery temper with tormenting voice and lightning axe is nice
this is what i wanted when i saw drownyard temple spoiled
<3 pyromancer's goggles since it doesnt copy additional costs following it immediatly with magmatic insight is powerful

it is weak to ramp in the main board and outside of chandra its sweepers against token generators are weak

this has a lot of potential with an engine that isnt being properly utilized in the meta game otherwise (the goggles specifically) but it needs some work

also what is with the yavimaya coast? im assuming its there to help trigger the kicker on the obligator Slant that seems inferior to a lot of other options

you forgot the bishop in the original post's decklist
depending on how the meta turns out this deck looks very adaptable
i like the bishop in the deck its just a shame that its trigger doesnt happen from using coco

Leonin Sun Standard could be interesting too, although I don't like the fact that it's not an enchantment and I'm probably better spending my mana every turn to generate more tokens.

you also have the option of using gerrard's battle cry it is an enchantment with a similar though overall weaker effect but if you want to multiply the effectiveness of your tokens for an alpha strike with an enchantment this is one way to do it

wow glimpse of the future is bad

    no card advantage like diviniation
one less card seen sorc speed and no flashback compared to forbidden alchemy
and one more mana for the same effect of stategic planning

and this is an uncommon which usually has a little more play is mana cost to effects unlike t he 3 commons im comparing it to

or mob justice as a finisher though you need to hit 20 instead of 10 unblocked

there was a ruling on silklash spider in dealing with silhana ledgewalker that since it can black as though it had flying it could indeed block her it should still stand to reach

that was until i checked it and they changed that when they keyworded it to reach so thats too bad

ive been testing this with more tuskers but have been dissapointed in total with its performace i play it in decks with larger cardpools and it plays well but in a format where a 7cc 6/5 isnt bad it doesnt seem to hold up its strange

keep in mind that mono reds decks, those most likely to play wild guess, also tend to rely on self recurring cards for card advantage piching squee or shard phoenix to it is card advantage and id pitch a card i cant use now to hit land drops

now i have to go returne some casual decks that can use this Slant lands dont like me

    Quote from Elvish Sniper
From the rulings on Lich's Mirror - This is interesting:

" If you control *but don't own* Lich's Mirror, Lich's Mirror itself will still be on the battlefield after its effect is finished. If you would lose the game again for any of the reasons above, Lich's Mirror has its effect again . . . and again . . . and again. An involuntary infinite loop will be created, and the game will end in a draw. (In the case of the triggered ability example given last in the list above, it's possible that a player could cause the loop to end while the ability is on the stack. None of the loops caused by state-based actions can be stopped at all.)"

Donating Lich's Mirror does neat things!

id just like to point out for those that dont want to read the humongous block of rulings that this only happens if after the mirror's effect triggers that you still lose the game due to poison counters or an effect preventing you from gaining life most likely

id also like to point out that the tokens form the trigger happen before the spell resolves if its uncounterable so if you set up a wrath with it like the deck built around it in type 2 often did you wont have any tokens left

This is where im starting i may add sphere of saftey but i dont think its needed

blind obediance + martial law allows it to work on haste creatures
the extort has so far allowed be to work through the mono red match
ghost council works on uw decks as a clock that if you dont swing that cant kill
the connections dont really cost life if you draw a spell you can extort it back you jsut have to use it wisely
overall i think adding a third color would go further than this but if you want to stay BW this works
orzhov charm is on the chopping block for being removal thats bad against aggro Slant

this is just a starting point not a final product

when wizards made champions of kamigawa they realized that the villians for the first 2 major storylines were black mana users and the things that fought them were green and white so they decided to show how there could be other setups making Konda, lord of eiganjo the villian and toshiro umezawa one of the heros so if you like lore based and being the good guy toshiro is your commander

  • posted a message on How many mana sinks for Braid of Fire?
    Quote from Stardust
Just so you know, it doesn't work with Bonfire either. You lose the mana once you leave your upkeep. Bonfire is cast on your draw step.

^ this is wrong already but since the upkeep and draw are steps and part of the same phase your mana pool doesnt empty until the end of the draw step which ends that phase

for the same reason mana floats between the steps of the combat phase

my favorite sinks have buyback searing touch reiterate blast from the past if theyll let you play it

mirari and rings of brighthearth can let your costs scale up with the braid mana
