Does anyone else think that Niv's mouth doesn't look particularly Dragon-ish or even reptilian.
Looks more feline to me.
But maybe I'm just seeing cats.
Well any deck that has this and Urabrask and 58 other permanents should probably also run Laboratory Maniac and Merfolk Looter.
Are there any permanents that let you tutor for it?
Heartless Summoning would remove the need for Grimgrin as a sac outlet so that's nice.
To repeatedly cast Gravecrawler you still need to have a zombie in play however, which is where Grimgrin does double duty.
Also HS still has you casting Gravecrawlers at B without the Rooftop Storm.
I saw this more as a the combo component in a Aggro/Combo zombie list. But maybe you can throw it in a HS deck and have it work out too.
For Lili to be good we'll need some cards that benefit from the discard.
These could come in the flavours of
- recurring threats like Bloodghast or Vengevine
- Flashback cards with a reasonable flashback cost and effect
- Efficient reanimation spells (reasonable targets we already have).
If we have any or all of these things I can see a deck with Liliana and Smallpox.
Just thought of one other thing that has nothing to do with drafting.
What are the rules regarding proxies then?
Are you allowed only the premade ones?
You know the ones that consist of a list of cards that you're not playing and a little tick besides the one that you are? Or are you allowed to make your own proxies, say with actual information about what the card does?
What if these transform cards are actually good and you end up with a deck that runs a lot of them?
A player may take reasonable steps to conceal the identity of a double-faced card if he or she wishes, but is not required to do so.
This I think is key and really worries me because it is incredibly vague and open to interpretation. You'd think they would have learned by now to avoid rules-ambiguity of this kind.
- Knowing some of the cards in the boosters to your right and the fact that your opponents picked or didn't pick these cards can change your entire draft plan.
- If some players at the table had seen cards and others hadn't, they gain a huge edge.
- Cards could be 'reasonably concealed' from some players and not from others.
- Some players might have more information due to better eyesight (how silly is that).
- This mechanic ENCOURAGES drafters to look at a hand that isn't their own.
- This mechanic almost REQUIRES drafters to talk during a draft, if they want the same public information as others. "Whats that card in your hand there player 3 seats away please?"
At FNM level of course none of this doesn't matters.
But when drafting in the top 8 of a PTQ some other higher level event it seems problematic to the extreme.
of course, you play it with pump spells. just saying that isnt its only trigger.
if your opponent wants to bolt your equipped infector he takes another 2 poison counters. at some point he just cant use targeted removal on your guys anymore without killing himself.
Does anyone have a decklist for the Maze's end deck that's seeing some play at the PT?
Syncopate,
Magma Quake,
Sphinx's Revelation,
there are worse tutors in a control mirror.

Burning Vengeance, Gravecrawler, Rooftop Storm and a sac outlet, most likely Grimgrin, Corpse-Born.
Substitute Burning Vengeance with Secrets of the Dead if you'd like to stay UB and draw your entire deck for free instead.
I'd think you would probably end up Flinging Grimgrin, Corpse-Born anyways but hey. Maybe the Secrets plan is better because the extra card draw (Think Twice, Silent Departure, Flashback'd Removal a la Snapcaster Mage to name a few).
If you ever do get out Rooftop Storm and Burning Vengeance you can easily go off with counter spell mana open, because the rest costs you 0. Without Rooftop Storm you're paying B per 2 damage, plus the overhead from Grimgrin, Corpse-Born.
0 mana Entomber Exarchs could grab back Grimgrin, Corpse-Born if he bites it.
Clunky i know, but maybe there is a UB zombie deck out there and maybe it could use a bit of combo if all else fails.
but it could go so terribly wrong in limited

4 Rootbound Crag
10 Forest
6 Mountain
32 Placeholder Cards That Look Almost Identical
fun.

What I'm wondering though will he be in the phyrexian or the mirran packs at the PR?
