Oh I've got one that probably no one else in the world has. I started playing right after Legends came out, so I got a bunch of Revised, but then I saw my neighbors Frost Giant from Legends and just had to have it. I paid him 20$ for it, which is insane, but I also got tropical islands for 5$, so you take the good with the bad. And it was the first Rampage card I ever saw. Completely obscure!

The first non-creature I loved was Braingeyser . The art, the power, the versatility. Much better than a 4/4 Rampage 2 for 6 mana!

Ooh if ever there was a card to pair with Akroma's Memorial, this is it. Hedron Archive turn 3-4. Next turn Akroma's Memorial then Colossus for 0, including trample and haste. Probably too slow for competitive Modern, but sounds like fun to me!

Man, I was with you up until 10/10. Maybe 4/10? This costs you a card, you have to discard first and you have to decide whether to pay 2 before you see your next card, which can lead to fee-based moments of you drawing something you no.llnger have the mana to pay for this turn.

Seems like a mediocre card that is only useful in Delirium or limited.

Haha. I remember when Jade Leech was the pushed green creature. It certainly has come a long way.

Also, think of the awesome threats you can easily make huge with this guy. Double strike. Lifelink. So much power!

This might be the worst magic art since OG Rorix...

Why? Because it not like the thousand sameish CGI arts we already have but something fresh and different?

Lots of things can be "fresh and different". How about a squiggly line with polka dots. That would be unlike anything ever on a Magic card, but it would look terrible.

We've come a long way from the Drew Tucker "WTF is this" style art, but this is horrible art. The color palette, the cartoonist style, the sideways pose... all terrible.

    Card is OK, though.

I think the last Mythic should be red, since Ajani could be considered the "Green Mythic" of this set.

As for Blackslaver, I like it. Definitely a black ability (a la Sorin Markov). Wouldn't be the worst card in some kind of Tron build (casual of course). I think this is a good Mythic.

Changes to the cardframe no one wanted that makes the whole experience more annoying: Too early to call this new card frame: Windows 8 Smile

I think these'll look a lot better in person than they do online, especially the bottom.

I think this is true. Upon seeing Waste Not, I found the new frame looked good. Obviously, I'd prefer things not change but since there are "many experts constantly trying to make Magic better" I guess we've got to expect changes every once in a while. Then I saw Wall of Fire. More like wall of black at the bottom! OMG

I don't mind wasting a bunch of space so you can figure out whether the card with a silver expansion symbol is uncommon or rare, but why couldn't the red frame go all the way around? Mad

Then I looked at some real cards and planeswalkers have more black at the bottom than other cards and look fine (they still have a thinner complete border but I digress). These will likely look less ridiculous in hand than on a screen.

Also fun to hear Aaron talk about how slivers were poorly received. MaRo always dismisses it with: "market research indicates people loved them". This sounds suspiciously like the market research I did in high school: My friends and their parents. That's a representative sample, right?

The frame change is minor and relatively innocuous, but I'd be happier if they spent time on the (very few) things that could be improved in Magic and not spending all their time trying to figure out how to get more black on the front of a red card.

Yeah, that card is lackluster. Versatile, but very niche. I'm never going to play with it, so I hope they at least make it uncommon so no one has to waste a rare slot on this eyeblight.

Btw, is it bad that I'm convinced that Wizards hand picked this card? It doesn't appeal to competitive players and it doesn't appeal to casual players. It probably shouldn't even appeal to Johnnys because you're not sure what the other guy is discarding and thus can't plan around it properly.

To whoever designed it: Noble effort, I like your "hey I'm a Deathrite Shaman for discard" concept, but it's very niche and terribly underwhelming.

Let's try not to make YMTC5 (in like 6 years) be a 2/1 Vanilla for 1, deal?

Like Legendary permanents , Planeswalker were supposed to be like a contract with the walker(flavorwise) now say both you and your opponent can call liliana to help you both she then start to harm you both... dosnt it make her a common enemy?
When i played a Rurik thar when my op controled one ... i was just saying for my friend( rurik thar) to stop helping my op just it
    lame

I don't think this makes any less sense than what happens now. Basically, the planewalker will be playing both sides to his/her benefit. If it no longer benefits him/her to be there, he goes away.

To you this makes less sense than "I called on Jace to help me, now I'm calling on another Jace and instead both go away"?

From a pure flavor standpoint, this is a win. For gameplay, I could see it go either way, but really, I can't imagine getting upset over this.

Having done 0 testing, I like this change. Time may say differently. I bet the majority of the up-in-arms-crowd doesn't care in 3 months time. Magic is a game, the rules can fluctuate; this too shall pass.

I think the main reason people are so pissed (here) is because this is a change to what they've always known. That's all. Explain to me how "Legendary creatures" should work in a card game played between two people? Go ahead. Tell me the one and only thing that makes sense.

The game has arbitrary rules (cough: four of any card maximum? Why not three? or five? or eleventeen?). Personally, the idea of a Legend being in play and then another Legend coming in and both of them insta-dying made no sense whatsoever. What's this? But I'm Santa Claus! We can't both be here! *both self-destruct*

If you can have Mikaeus alive on one side and Mikaeus dead on the other side, and they can even fight each other, then your outrage over this change is overblown. Personally, I remember when you were only allowed to put one copy of a Legendary permanent in your deck!

The change will take a little getting used to, but for flavor purposes, I think it's pretty good.

Yeah when this started I saw three cards I would have been happy to play. I figured one of them was likely to win. One was disqualified and the other was just eliminated in a somewhat surprising vote. I guess I'm going with the one that's left (Blood in the Watering Can), even though the other one is my name! If it's aggressively costed, it's good in everything. Here's hoping for 1B or BB... if it even wins.

Useless in EDH/Commander/Singleton/Cube/Etc. A lot of people (myself included) think that playing one of every card is the funnest way to not see the same 3 decks over and over, and this card is useless in all of those formats. A definite uphill slope for a Johnny Spike card.

I've played against some truly annoying combo decks, but at least they have the decency to kill you in 3-4 turns. You can scoop, say "well that was no fun", and go do something else. Getting stuck there for several iterations while Eggs goes off looks beyond tedious.

To the combo players who say this is unfair, allow me to postulate that combo is inherently unfun. You're essentially playing solitaire, especially if the opponent doesn't have blue. Maybe you don't see it because of the narcissistic streak required to play third turn combo kills, but no one likes to play against that repeatedly. It's interesting once or twice, and the tension between "can I kill you before you get your combo off" can be very interesting, but just watching the same degenerate combo go off over and over again is mind numbingly boring.

I can appreciate why you want your consistent combo to be allowed in every format imaginable, but it's boring and tedious. Think of it as a challenge, every time you break the format with a new degenerate combo, a piece gets banned and you have to find a new one. Isn't that the whole joy of combo deck building? And please, try and find one that wins while the other person can't leave for 10 minutes and not miss a thing.
