This was my end of the year pimp update. I've posted this on mtgthesource and reddit a few months ago but I seem to have forgotten to post it here. Between January and now I have a few more pieces but i'll save those for the next big update.

It's my elves deck. It's by far my favorite deck to play and I put my heart and soul into finishing it. I started playing Legacy around a decade ago and from the start, I knew I wanted to play Elves. It was fun and I was a high school student with little to no income. It was no where near tier 1 back then. Back then, it was an all-in combo deck with Summoner's Pact, Emrakul, and Grapeshot as the finishers.

Over the years, I slowly upgraded my deck. I took a break for a few years during college. When I came back, Elves became a whole new deck. With the new legend rule change which made Gaea's Cradle insane and the printing of Craterhoof Behemoth, Elves was finally good. I have a little more income now since graduating college and I upgraded from English nonfoil to English foil, and then now it's almost complete as Chinese foil.

    So, here's the deck:

I plan to get almost every card altered eventually, so if anyone has any alter ideas, let me know!

When this deck is completely 100% chinese foil and altered, i'll probably work on simplify chinese foiling a vintage deck, career and/or future wife permitting :p

Now comes my question, what happens if they ban a card of your deck or if they change legacy introducing Eternal?
    Pimping is too risky IMO

Grim is fine without fetches, just not quite as good. So is Blaze, but Blood is good too.

I'd add a 4th Price, 19th Land, and 1st Grim. Cut 3rd Vortex, and both Flame Rifts.

I run 20 lands, but I agree with the rest...
Recently I had to cut Flame rifts, not as good when there is an Eidolon around, XD

Anything that lowers the prices of cards I'm pretty much okay with. If people are honestly complaining that their $2000 card that probably cost a fraction of a cent to print is no longer worth $2000, or even that a $30 card has dropped to $7.50, about all I can think to them is "cry me a freaking river and go get a real job".

Though I guess I'm not sure what cards I'd like to see in the set aside from what I mentioned here.

Assuming you are the author, I have read and replied your article dude, your cure is worse than the disease...
In addition, it seems partially contrasting what you have just written here

Anyway, this realization keeps my personal hopes and wants down, stuff like Sinkhole, Lotus Petal, Chain Lightning, Demonic Tutor, Black Vise, Sylvan Library, Three Visits, Maze of Ith, Sensei's Divining Top, Pendelhaven, Land Tax, Oubliette, Counterbalance, Heritage Druid, Gemstone Mine, Reanimate, Ancient Tomb, Cabal Therapy, Goblin Settler and the Mirage Tutors are a bunch of commons and uncommons that are only expensive because they're mostly very old or were underprinted, wouldn't bankrupt any LGS for going to single-digit prices and would be very sought after by the Commander and Cube crowds.

If even these low expectations aren't met, WotC is in for hardcore backlash.

Reserved list is anachronistic... First or later they would realize it

What about Jitte, instead of swords?
Everything is becoming a cycle nowadays and cycles are often repetitive...
Jitte is the best equipment so far

Why collectors are arising against Wizards if they would reprint cards from Reserved list?

I have a decent value of cards among that list, but I wouldn't be pissed...
Indeed, I would be pleased to be able to open again packs with these cards with my friends. Some of them were just babies at that time and they didn't have the chance to do it. Try to imagine it! Opening an underground sea after so many years!!! Or finding a foil common like dark ritual!!!

In the end, do you think that Reserved list has a meaning anymore? World changes and so do the rules...

You sir are in the minority, many collectors would be pissed... Once they go back on the Reserve List, there is nothing to guarantee they wont reprint a card 10 times and have it be worthless. I am a player first, but if I thought the cards wouldn't have much secondary market value I wouldn't but boxes, especially $10 a pack MSRP sets
So you would not buy boxes of Modern Masters and Tarmogoyf is worthless?
I believe you are the one in the minority.

The secondary market has proven to be safe enough regardless of reserved list...

Actually that is completely different. Tarmogoyf and all modern cards cannot and never will be on the reserve list. Equating tarmogoyf to 20+ year old duals and power i'm guessing you don't have much of that so it wouldnt affect your collection any.

The all point he meant is that Magic is a game, more than a way to invest money... Why depriving players of using good cards just because some greed players would be upset?
I play since 1994 and I am not scared that my old limited cards would lose value. Even reprinting, having the real old ones will be cooler Smile Try to see the glass as half full XD

Yes, you can invest money on MTG if you like, but there are better choice, like gold or housing.

Pretty disappointed to see FOW moving from uncommon to mythic...
Also the price of 10 bucks is not respectful of old magic players, in the end what about realizing that printing a FOW has the same cost of printing a grizzly bear?

Hope at least they will not take care of reserved list anymore. I mean, the set name is supposed to be related to its content right? New fuel for legacy and vintage players, helping as well new people to get in a format reprinting cards from a past when they were not even born

I respect and appreciate your work,
but my MWS did not ... for some reason it didn't work (I am using the version from MTG-BR)

now his database works, but the colorless mana symbol does not, because I was not able to find his mwtheme.
Could you give me a link for his new theme please?

I am using MWS from the website MTG-BR

I added the set OGW with this file, but didn't work that good, then I found on SlighltyMagic an updated database from GoblinHero and I used that (didn;t find his usual mws theme this time)

Now I have the new cards but the colorless mana is now untap symbol, how to fix it?

Can someone share his own *.mwtheme please?

    Thanks

If Wizards would learn from forum threads and online feedback, they will create a vintage master set...

Threads like this are sprouting like mushrooms around and people are interested. All players are, for different reasons.

Printing a vintage masters, does not affect the reserved list. Someone older like me, should understand that it was intended as cards to avoid reprinting in sets that become standard. Furthermore, it was a mistake since the beginning, so this is a good way to move around it.

Everyone deserves the chance to play with powerful and fun cards, not just people that were opening packs during 90's... I have many of those cards and I don't care if they will lose value.

MTG is a game, before than everything else.
Wizards for once and for good, please listen this plea... Print this set and for the standard price, we like the game but we understand that those cards are just small pieces of printed cardboard Artist

    Mmm,

    Playing top is 1
    using top is 1

in both cases you are using mana that you should use to cast burn spell on something that will make your draw better... so something less good than a burn.

What about keeping your deck focused on burn with few creatures and the right number of lands? It will be more consistent.

With 20 lands I normally end my games with 3-4 lands on the battlefield, unless I used a final fireblast
You have seen my decklist with and without Black Vise

About your mana base, I don't see the advantage of having chrome mox, simian and fetches for the same reasons as before

    Soldier,

I play burn with 20 mountains... and I feel good.

If you play fetch lands, in order to help diving top, you probably lose the point of drawing enough lands (fuel) to burn 20 damages to your opponent...

I understand that rift bolt could be better than lava spike, but how can it dodge counters?
Can't they still counter it when you remove last counter on the spell?

    Mmmm,

    so I could do

-1 eidolon (cannot remove them all, is the only protection against combo / storm)
-1 rift bolt (still a good future bolt for 1)
-1 price of progress (normally lands 5 damages, on average)

+ 4 Black Vise, on a 61 decks or remove one more card
