It is budget issues for me. I blew a lot on the U. Seas, Trop. Isles, and other duals this year. This is what I can currently work with. It is sub-par but I can make a few changes with Chain of Vapor and Time Spiral right now. Next year I can work into getting Scalding Tarns and 1 more U.Sea and Trop. Isle.
And as for Ill-Gotten Gains, just want to test out some stupid tricks with it.
Of course the sideboard options will be trimmed down and sadly I only have 1 Tropical Island so I use a Bayou for green. But I want to run Lab Man in the main with Chromatic Sphere (let's me use my copy from Invasion block) so I was thinking of taking out 2 Petals for the Lab man and the Sphere. Just really sad about only having 3 LEDs over here.
I like the build. Not 100% on CotV in the deck but I do like the inclusion of Chrome Mox. I still like running Sphere of Resistance. City of Traitors can be a great addition powering out quick starts and the GSZ toolbox approach seems needed in a deck like this. I think the deck could drop Winter Orb and Thorn of Amethyst to make room for 3Sphere and GSZ while still keeping most of the original build like Root Maze and Ezuri's Brigade. A lot of the additions are costly but the core of the build is rather cheap.
I'm thinking of using Arbor Elf with Squirrel Nest for an additional win condition. It seems like it could work to generate a decent number of tokens for one massive swing. Also, since we are playing mono green, has anyone considered Tangle Golem? Its common so it is in the budget, is an artifact for Ezuri's Brigade's metalcraft, and has affinity for forests. So it could be a free creature to play.
Ok now I see how that wouldn't work. I noticed the exile but wondered if you had 0 cards if that would be decking someone. I'll run Deathmark or Chain Lightning until I get my Slaughter Pact.
Thanks for the advice. On a side note, going through my cards to find the elusive 15th sideboard card, I saw Shared Fate and laughed at the though on playing that after drawing my entire pile and passing the turn. Thus, winning the game. It's like a budget Lab Man pass the turn pile that almost always would win via decking if I am correct as to how Shared Fate works. For some of my casual family and friends games the LOL factor of decking your opponent on turn 3-4 while they still have a library just makes me smile.
I was thinking of playing Act of Impulse post Doomsday. As a way to dig into cantrips if you don't have any in hand. If it is stupid it was just a thought. As of now, my 2 favorite piles are can-trip in hand + Meditate ,D rit, D rit, Duress, ToA. and post board Cantrip + Shelldock Isle, Emrakul, Gemstone Mine, D rit, Doomsday.
I decided to build this deck since I am intrigued by Doomsday and have 2 Volcanic Isles and 3 LEDs and 6 blue based fetchlands but no U. Sea or Trop Isle and learning the budget build is cheaper than building the full deck and possibly wasting money or finding the deck impossible for me to play. With that said, I love this deck. Even punting many piles over and over I can't put this deck down. Even with the massive headaches I get I still want to goldfish more and more.
I'm play the list in the primer with Shelldock Isle and Emrakul in the sideboard. And I was wondering if anyone thought of the card Act on Impulse? Not really an amazing card by itself, but I could a possible use as a wish target.
Phyrexian Metamorph seems like a good card to test out along with Tsabo's Web. Carpet of Flowers seems more like a sideboard card if you meta has a lot of blue based decks in it. Same goes with Choke in my mind.
I didn't mention Arboria in jest actually. The build I'm kind of working towards, is to shut everything down as fat as possible. from casting spells, untapping lands, to attacking. Then just sit back and kill with Black Vise.
It only enchants creatures. By comparison Suppression Field make all activated abilities cost 2 more for lands, artifact, creatures, etc. Now I am thinking about splashing white for various other hate cards. I also own 2 copies of Savannah and can get 2 more if I need too. The mono-green build can still do some serious damage.
This opens up main deck Blood Moon and a sideboard like this:
This might give a few better match-ups in testing. Again just how I was tinkering with a Squirrel build for Legacy.
And as for Ill-Gotten Gains, just want to test out some stupid tricks with it.

I'm still working on the sideboard Darkheart Sliver and Harmonic Sliver are in there but I'm just debating on other gravehate/combo hate cards.
my Board only has 14 cards in it though.
Trying to find a 15th card but I'm more focused on trying to find 4-5 basic piles to use 95% of the time.

The list so far is:
So what Mana dorks do you runs 6jhefz? I might go that route instead of Talismans for the mana.
