Now that Mtg Salvation is closing, where will all your Vorhtos go?
I'll admit that Mtg Salvation was the only mtg community I lurked everyday, so now I'm a bit lost and I don't know of other forums or community interested not only in Mtg cards, but in lore too...

Sooo, is the guy on Umezawa's Charm Toshiro or Tetsuo? Judging by the Jitte I would say Toshiro, but I don't remember if the weapon was handed down to Tetsuo.

I really don't know what they wanted to do with Vivien... When she was introduced, with her vendetta against Bolas, she seemed to would have been a key character in bringing down the dragon. We even got a story for her, but not her origin story, which was basically only in her bio. As others have already said, why showing her on Ixalan? Is she is the only survivor of Skalla, show us Skalla, tell us what happened to it...
This would have probably matter less if her role in WAR would have been major, but she did nothing against Bolas, which we were told was her nemesis.. Why create this character, then? You don't show her origin, and you don't close her storyline...

I'm not even sure she was supposed to be a "good" girl, an antihero, or simply a neutral character. If her portrayal in Unbowed was supposed to show her like an hero, it failed miserably. So, once again... why we had Vivien? She is a little more than another Kasmina.

It is also not impossible that we might see serra in a standard set in the future as well, Kamigawa and coldsnap are good exemples that not every standard set needs to be in chronological order, but due to the storyline from today (following the gatewatch) it lowers the possibility of this happening.

Judging from the Chronicles of Bolas, I believe they could use the Core set for exploring past events.
In any case, before the real protagonists of the story were the planes themselves (not during the Weatherlight saga, obviously). That permitted to be able to "time-jump" without problems, like from the Invasion to Onslaught, to Kamigawa to Time Spiral. Now, with the planeswalker-centric story (and they no-more-eternal lifespan) the possibility of this were reduced drastically.

we are getting a new walker besides Serra who might be a player in the future story
Hardly. Serra is dead and has been from long before the invasion of Phyrexians on Dominaria.
I believe he is referring to the other walker besides Serra.

Urza was more powerful than "normal" pws thanks to the powerstones he got as his eyes.

The first extra chapter is lame sauce. One new scene in the beginning and then just the first part of the book from Rat's POV. I really should have expected to be disappointed.

    What are the extra chapters?

Maro hasn't mentioned Ramaz in 4 years, which is a bad sign. It means the players aren't asking him about Ramaz often in the last 4 years. Though 4 years ago he ranked 9th for planeswalkers we know of and want to see. I'm guessing he was just never really popular enough to make the same jump the other duels planeswalkers did.

Prabably not being a player character was the principal factor for his low popularity. If I'm not mistaken the other Duels-first PW were Nissa (albeit in her GB elven suprematist form), Kiora (at that time called Kiora Atua), Ral Zarek and, in a sense, Vronos (unnamed until Magic Duels).

ziiko-aomori-blog-blog asked: After reading the war book, I was wondering why Angrath has amass, it doesn't seem to fit his role against Bolas.
It’s supposed to represent Angrath using his magic to temporarily pull Eternals to his side. Controlling magic is kind of his thing.

I always thought he simply steals creatures binding them with his chains...

Has pizza been mentioned in any magic setting so far?

Don't think so... Heck, Magic is one of the fantasy franchises who doesn't expand much on the food of the vaiorus planes, they could probably write an entire cookbook about it!

    Bring back Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar!

I was always under the impression that the reason Wizards led with human planeswalkers was that they were popular because people could find pieces of themselves so to speak in these characters. As an example with the new set Ral Zarek is revealed to be in a realtionship to Tomik, appealing to that demographic. Narset has Autism, Gideon shows classic signs of recovery from abuse and tragedy, Huatli is inspired by an area of Latin America. Things like that are why I thought they were more prominent?

If this is true, they made the only two "Italian" planeswalker one an evil (albeit ingenious) goblin, and the other an inveterate thief who also got the shaft in WAR... Not good, Wizards, not good! You forgot pizza?!

I too had thought that Ramaz was supposed to be the replacement for Sarkhan defection, since both are shamans. Alas, this wasn't meant to be.
At least Vronos, another DotP only character, got to be included in a short story.

Also the unknown I think is Ashiok not the Wanderer and we can't really say what Ashiok since they have been twisted by their own nightmare magic from their originally form.

Yes, I was thinking of Ashiok. I believe that the Wanderer is simply another human but obviously I could be wrong.
On the half-human and "hybrid": I was trying to enlight more the difference than the similarity.
About dead PWs: I simply considered carded characters, but to be more precise, 1 elf, 1 cat warrior and 1 satyr are dead (together with at least 7 humans: Serra, Urza, Venser, Elspeth (sort of) and the 3 casualties of WAR)
Reading the names of the dead PW makes me say: planeswalkers of the multiverse, don't choose white as your color, is bad for your life!

I really hope they go back to the old way of storytelling (you know, the free one), after the *****show that was WAR i'm never buying another MTG Novel ever again.

The free one isn't really the old one. Before that, there were at least a novel for block, and before that even a novel for sets. They stopped doing them around Innistrad, I think, when they realized they were selling well. I don't know how War of the Spark would sell, but Magic storyline has never been top notched, even at its best.
