Thanks for responses... I don't have a lot of paper magic cards except for edh decks, but I was wondering more about procedural things such as:
Registering Decks
Deck Swaps? (How this works)
Lookin out for/Being a Rules Nazi (What rules to point out, missed triggers, etc...)
Amount of time to shuffle, sideboard, and slow playing
For deck registration, write everything as clearly as possible.
Every event that deck swapped I've been to, after registration, the packs were passed in some random direction a few time. That would become your sealed pool.
If there are any rules issues on either side, CALL A JUDGE. You won't be the "bad guy" for doing this.
A good estimation for shuffling/sideboarding is three minutes. If you do everything in a fairly timely manner, slow play shouldn't be an issue.
Not printing utility at mythic is an old fashioned thing. We print Lotus Cobras, Mox Opals, and Vengevines at mythic now.
None of which are actually utility. Neither Cobra nor Vengevine are run in "any deck that can support green", and Mox Opal has to be able to support metalcraft, which not every deck can do. Plus, the legendary part of the Opal keeps it from being a four-of in just about any deck.
This is the reason I enjoy playing Mythic and Mythic Conscription. Dropping the enchantment off of a Sovereigns or attacking twice with a double-striking Baneslayer both make my Johnny happy. Attacking with a 17/17 Baneslayer makes my Timmy happy. And the fact that the deck wins makes my Spike happy.
Not 100 percent certain if this is the right place. Mods please move if it's not.
I'm gonna be in Duluth, MN next week (11th through 15th or so), and I was wondering if there are any good places to play, or people to maybe just test some Legacy with (getting ready for GP Columbus).
If anybody knows of anything, or wants to sit around and sling some cards, let me know.
On a side note, the mythic rarity was absolutely a money grab by Wizards because two years ago Jace 2.0 would have been a regular rare and would not be nearly as expensive because more of him would have been opened.
The chance of opening a mythic rare today is the same as opening a regular rare from older sets. There would likely have been the same amount of Mindsculptors opened then as now.

I was simply voicing my frustration on being forced out of the game that I love on a public forum I've been a member of for years.
If you want to do that, I'd suggest making a blog post instead. Posting in a public forum means you're going to get people that are going to disagree with you.
On topic though, I usually get cards before they tend to go up in price. At the moment, I am only a few Gideons away from being able to build UW control and UWr Superfriends.
I've got plans to be there. Flying in from Western PA. It'll be my fourth Grand Prix, and I hope I do better in it than I have in the past (a bunch of 0-x drops). I feel fairly confident in M10 sealed though. Hope to be able to get into one of the Last Chance Trial events on Friday evening too.
Now how will I explain the new blocking system?
"Well you see when I send a creature to attack you, you can tell all your dudes to gang up on my guy. At this point, all your dude form into a conga line and my creature has to kill each creature in the order of the conga line before it can attack the next creature. All at the same time, all your creature break out of the conga and smack my guy all at once."
I honestly feel the gang-blocking change makes perfect sense flavor-wise. If you're in a life-or-death combat situation, you're not going to just hurt your attackers, then hope that some magical intervention (Pyroclasm, Fallout, etc.) is going to kill them afterwards. You're going to kill them, and the only way to really do that is one at a time.
Honestly, I think the changes in general are pretty good. I'll get used to the lack of a stack during combat damage. The zone-changes are perfect flavorfully (and don't remind me at all of Yu-gi-oh, whose zones have no flavor-based names). It's not going to kill the game at all. WotC is likely not going to change back just because they get e-mails and petitions, especially if they get new players because of the changes.
I attacked with three titanic Spirit tokens (originally 1/1's) into a Raking Canopy. I fully believe the damage and abilities/pumping get removed at the same time, leaving me with three 1/1 spirits, but my opponent insisted that my guys die. Which one of us is right?
This may be an issue if this were a Christian forum, but people in here come from many different beliefs. If you've got a problem with that, you should find someplace else to visit.
This is coming from a former Christian. The best you can do is provide us non-believers with the information, and then let us make our own decisions from there. If you try to force your beliefs on us, we're definitely gonna dig our heels in and fight.

This really depends on if you count solely liquid assets or not. Honestly, I could say I am a millionaire based off of annuities that i have from a legal settlement, but no one would ever really be able to tell from the way I live. I rent the place where I live, drive a Toyota, and don't really wear any extravagant clothes. I shop at Wal-Mart even though I could easily get away with any major department store instead.
Really, I'm just a regular guy with money that I'd gladly give back for what I lost it for.

The Daily What is following the whole thing pretty well.

These strike me as the most mythic cards in the set. Figure is too much of a utility guy to be mythic. These are all pretty big spells the just feel incredibly mythic.

Thanks for the quick reply. Makes me feel so much better.
