Depending on how often you guys play together and how often the Empyrial Archangel deck shows up in rotation when you do, I could almost understand your friend's frustration.
Although it really just sounds like he's being a sore loser.
Also, maybe if you take a dive and let him win against that deck once or twice, maybe that'll shut him up ?
Fallen Empires wasn't a bad set. People were confusing availability with playability.
I remember that Fallen Empire packs were very popular in sealed constructed and booster constructed formats at the time because FE packs had a lot more creatures than packs from other sets.
Yeah, all that stuff, including the scouting, is just an unfortunate aspect to drafting in a venue with limited room.
The scouting is annoying and I used to discourage it, but not so much now.
As far as table talk goes, I guess I'm ok with people choosing to reveal their own picks if they want to, but not those of others.
The only time table talk really annoys me, is if it slows down the draft or screws it up because people are too busy conversing and do something stupid, like pick up the wrong pile of passed cards or accidentally stack two separate piles together (this has happened at some of the bigger drafts.)
people seem willing and even eager to dismiss scientific knowledge as though it were some kind of fantasy. I really don't understand it. Can anyone explain?
People who have invested heavily in their religion and have made important decisions based on it, can not really dabble in any kind of thinking that even remotely threatens their faith and this includes all of the sciences.
Also, if you like to be in a position to lecture and boss people around, but don't have money, power or practical knowledge, using your faith is another way to go.
Although I find paranormal/conspiracy stuff fascinating, I'm kind of a skeptic.
I'm going to lump UFO's and ghosts in the same category, because if I ever had an encounter with either one, it would completely change how I look at the world and I'd be concerned over the ramifications (especially regarding ghosts - does that mean there really is an afterlife ? How do I avoid becoming a ghost myself when I die , etc.)
On the plus side, it would definitely make the world more interesting.
Also, that Ghost Hunters show on Sci- Fi is even less believable than their "original" movies and with about the same production values.
Since I started using Firefox, I've had a much easier time; between all the IE glitches and the viruses, trojans, pop ups and other malware that target MS stuff, Firefox just glides through the internet and I just don't seem to have as many issues.
FF is kind of a custom-designed browser, so it does require initial patience creating your settings, but once that's done, you're good.
I'm pretty much the same person online as offline.
The few times I'd considered the notion of using a "cypher", have been instances where I was on a message board, trashing the work of certain writers and/or editors in the comic book field, an industry I had aspirations of getting into.
As it is, it's almost impossible to get started at DC or Marvel (as a writer) and the concern over message board comments coming back to haunt me was on the back of my mind, but nowadays, I just don't care.
For either tournament and/or casual play, is an opponent allowed to cut your deck by just taking the top card of your library and putting it on the bottom ?
With me, it depends on the crowd I'm playing with.
If I'm playing with friends, then I'm a lot less likely to rare draft (even for a money rare), but if I'm playing with a-holes, then I probably will rare draft (especially if I'm uncertain about my deck).
Ballynock Trappers also sound like they might make good additions to your deck.

I wouldn't mind seeing the return of another Chronicles type set in the future; I think it'd be fun.

Don't forget about Gemhide Sliver which is almost as good.

If someone has to leave early due to an emergency or whatever, how do you handle that ?
Thanks.

Early on, there was some good stuff like Run-DMC's King Of Rock and You Talk Too Much.
The hardcore rappers wind up getting murdered or sell-out and become embarrassments if they live long enough (like Snoop Dogg).
