While we are in a good brewing state of mind may I suggest something? Now I understand this is a bit different of a style of deck to the standard jund list but why not pair reveler with tracker in a looting list to just win any late game grind fest? Still only run 20-21 lands and add 2-3 life from the loam, the lands fuel tracker and discard outlets like looting and brutality and the dredge can fuel reveler. Another great combo is loam and raven's crime, probably only a 1 of but these two cards just destroy any control deck as well as storm.

This deck would be great vs control and midrange and should be good against aggro although it will have the same problems as mardu against combo. And you wouldn't be able to run blood moon in this list due to the colour requirements.

So what do you guys think? A slow but ridiculously grindy deck with looting for card selection in a shell that should be more suited for it.

For me, one of the most enjoyable aspects of playing Jund is the 50/50 and 40/60 MUs that are sometimes difficult to win and a struggle all of the time. I believe this to make the deck far more interesting as it forces me to try and always improve. As well as this, the games that I win feel far more rewarding due to the number of difficult decisions that led to the win. Last night I again went 3 wins and 1 draw as my second week of playing Jund, I was able to go away and tune my maindeck and SB to my store meta and it seemed to have worked, I always had a deck full of good cards for the MU in post-board games, whereas opponents were boarding in the likes of Relic of Progenitus which just wouldn't matter if I didn't draw Goyf.

Basically, I am just saying that I find it enjoyable because it isn't the best deck that wins all of the time without pilot skill and the deck itself is customisable which allows me to enjoy the deck outside of actual games by working on it and tuning it.

I have come from playing Grim Flayer in abzan and he was great there, obviously we don't have the Lingering Souls combo with it in jund although I was still very pleased with it on Tuesday as a two of in jund. I don't think that it is worth running bad cards to help delirium because that is going against the deck's gameplan of just playing good cards. With just playing a normal game I usually hit delirium on turn 4/5, some people complain that this leaves it open to bolt, although bolt and fatal push work the same way with bob and scooze early game. It forces our opponent to have the answer, even after our hand attack, and if they don't then we get value. Even hitting once can setup the next few turns, if we know their hand and the top of our deck then the top of their deck is the only unknown, which is a very powerful amount of information to have with a deck that can swith gears so quickly. Also last Tuesday I got a hit in with Flayer on turn three, milled the land on top then switched the LOTV and BBE to draw the elf and cascade into the LOTV on the next turn, now if that isn't good then I don't know what is.

So 2 Bob Jund got there, I won the event with the above list -2 Dark Confidant, +1 BBE and +1 Ooze. I was able to borrow the second bob from a friend.

All in all I much prefer Jund over abzan so I think I will be sticking with it for a while. In my meta there are multiple Mardu Pyro, Elves and Humans decks so I would like to run 3 board wipes although I haven't seen many decks running that many, is it too counterproductive with also running that many creatures? If so what third wipe should it be?

I have decided to move to Jund from Abzan and this is the list that I have decided to play. My problem is 3x Dark Confidant have not arrived in the post yet and I really want to still play the deck at a store event tonight. So my question is, what 3 creatures should I replace 3x Dark Confidant with for the meantime? I am thinking 1x Grim Flayer, 1x Bloodbraid Elf and 1x Tireless tracker as all of these give card advantage or filtering.

That list seems fine, although I would give some advice about your manabase. I have usually seen Gavony Township run as the 24th land, I have found that having that and the likes of Grim Flayer and Sculler can cause problems with only 22 other coloured sources so I have personally cut Township. I would also cut an Overgrown Tomb for a second basic swamp, I know you have Urborg but the basics are important against land destruction. Blooming Marsh is a good land for meeting your colour requirements in a painless way, I would swap out 2 of Urborg, Township or a fetch for 2 of these.

I was going to try out Shalai, Voice of Plenty as well, although I think 24 lands are likely needed when playing 2 copies of her, especially when you also have Tasigur.

I used to play Tasigur and when Grim Flayer was printed I thought the two would work great together, although I found that they fought too much over Delirium, have you found the same problem?

I am on a list similar to Reid's so I have 2 spellbombs main already. Is Thrun too slow, from turn 5 onwards he blocks and kills most of their deck apart from their delve creatures. One card that works completely against Humans and well against Hollow one is Worship, you just need to dodge Collective Brutality.

Also how many Damping Sphere are people running? I am undecided between 2 and 3.

I definitely agree with you about Shalai, Voice of Plenty. It would add a lot of late game and is good at keeping us alive until then. I am guessing 1-2 will be correct due to legendary. This plus finks seems great, do we start running Gavony Township again?

My list is the same as the centralized list in the primer, I've been playing that list since the goodies of Push, Flayer and Tracker were printed and it has been working well for me as long as I dodge Tron and Eldrazi. Also what do people think of the new spoiler card Damping Sphere? I think we definitely want some number of this in our sideboard, it hoses storm but more importantly, it makes Tron and Eldrazi play fair, shoring up some of our worst matchups. I plan to cut the 2 surgicals from my SB for 2 of these and maybe trying to fit a third in, hoping that fulminator into surgical does the job has always felt bad and I do not think I will miss the GY hate as I will be running 2-3 ooze and 2 nihil spellbombs main.

My current SB with the centralized list is:

After that post, I went to modern thinking that the deck just couldn't hold up anymore although I managed to go 3-1. FYI I am running the centralized list.

The first match was against grixis control and I went 0-2. At no point did I think I would be able to out-grind this deck, they just have too much late game with tasigur, JTMS and Kcommand, I tried siding in Gideon AoZ although trying to fight the late game felt bad.

The next 3 matches were burn and two mardo pyro lists and I 2-0'ed each match. In these games, lingering souls really did a lot of work, mainly stabilizing the board until I found removal, so I was still happy that I was running white. Siege rhino though felt like it did very little other than against burn, it always just ate a removal spell after investing 4 mana into it.

So I have also decided that the low to the ground BG splash white deck is probably the way to go. Lingering souls is still an amazing card for BGx and there are two lantern players at my LGS so stony silence is worth playing white for. The reason I want to go lower to the ground is to get under the other midrange and control decks running JTMS and BBE, I don't think there is another option for beating them as now they do just out value us.

Hi everyone, I have been playing this deck for years, ever since you would just jam 4 rhinos into your deck, although my question is that is anyone still playing abzan? I'm just worried that jund does what this deck wants to do but better now, so what have people been doing to keep this deck relevant?

So this is my plan. I feel like a 3/3 split of push and path will be a good place to start as any fewer paths and we will have trouble with tasigurs and wurmcoils. And I am going for Flayers because I don't like the idea of bob with 2 Tasigurs and in the Tron MU flayer can dig for sideboard answers faster than bob.

In my experience LotV has been quite bad, as she is not effective removal against decks with mana dorks and kitchen finks and then her plus isn't particularly good against eternal witness. Removal has always worked out better than discard for me if your sideboard has plenty of golgari charms and the like.

So really it is either get hold of a bunch of fulminators or go back to playing bogles which is my other modern deck, the meta I am in is literally 40% tron so just hoping to not play against them isn't really an option. I have seen Surgical Extraction mentioned before but to me it does seem a bit too wishful, hope they discard a land to Liliana then draw the 1 of extraction. Thanks for the opinions though.
